Week 6 Matchups and Predictions

Another week down and another week of bye maddddddddness. Here's a look at this week's matchups.

RuggedRaymontHarris (3-2) vs
Da Boyz (2-3)

Matchup Stats
Never have played each other

Overview: Last week was a very winnable matchup for Cindy. A couple of wrong decisions (Meachem over Garcon, Green Bay D over 49ers D) led to a 4 point loss. This week Cindy gets me and my all star team (sans Vincent Jackson who is on bye) and it's going to be a very tough matchup to win. I don't usually like to pick my team (and I hope I'm not jinxing myself here) but I'm solid at all fronts except for WR #3. Romo gets the Pats and that should be a high scoring contest. Of course Cindy gets Wes Welker in that game as well which should provide a surplus of points for her as Welker gets the Cowboys shitty secondary. Greg Jennings gets the Rams and the only thing I worry about is if this game gets put to bed real fast, this might become a running game in the 2nd half. Still, Jennings should do some damage and have a nice game. DeSean Jackson gets the Redskins and if you remember what happened last year, I'm hoping even for just half that. That would be nice. I still have not decided if I'm going with Mario Manningham (who is losing targets to Victor Cruz) or Greg Little (who has Colt McCoy at QB and is starting for the first time in his career). Both have great matchups and it's literally a coin toss on who I'm going to play. LeSean McCoy gets that same nice matchup against the Eagles, while Ray Rice makes his team debut against the Houston Texans. The newly acquired Vernon Davis will face the Lions. As for Cindy, Darren McFadden vs the Cleveland Browns is very scary. I look for him to have one of those dominant McFadden performances of weeks earlier. Is Shonn Greene prepared for encore performance? We'll see Monday night against Miami. When will the real Matt Ryan show up??? Could it be this week against Carolina? I like the matchup and he could finally have a nice game. Reggie Wayne faces the #1 defense in the NFL in the Bengals (my defense btw) and it seems like Curtis Painter likes Pierre Garcon over Wayne so far, so he might have a quiet game.  Meachem is a wild card, there's too many weapons for the Saints to really gauge what he can do. Green Bay D is probably a good play and Neil Rackers could benefit playing the Ravens D as the offense could stall a few times. Also Owen Daniels might have a tough game against the Ravens as well.

Yahoo Says: I win 101-92
I say: I win, c'mon now, for once I feel real good about my team. I want to believe I have just too many weapons and will be able to sustain lights out performances by Welker and McFadden.

Take Dat Wit Chu (3-2) vs
Shredders (1-4)

Matchup Stats
Never have played each other

Overview: Kenny is coming off a 2 game losing streak and coming off losing a blowout to Matt. Zach is coming off a close loss to me and really he's starting to see the season slip away with a 1-4 record. For Kenny, this is the perfect chance to take a breath and get the ball rolling again. Aaron Rodgers gets the Rams and a typical Rodgers line is definitely not out of the question. Larry Fitzgerald is on bye but at least Deion Branch plays us this week. He could be in line for a nice game. Kenny also gets Miles Austin back and in the same game, he's looking for Austin to do what he was doing before his hamstring injury. He'll have the opportunities that's for sure. The RB tandem this week is Peyton Hillis/Jahvid Best (Ryan Mathews is on bye) and the big question is how good will these perform?  Best shows some awesome glimpses last week, but the 49ers are a tough run D to play against. Meanwhile Hillis has only played 2 games for Kenny, one really good (against the Colts) and one pretty bla. With Monterrio Hardesty also getting more involved, we'll see if Peyton Hillis can still manage to take care of a nice opportunity against Oakland.  Tony Gonzalez has been better than advertised and he'll be up against the Carolina Panthers. For Zach, Michael Vick and Jeremy Maclin have the Redskins, and we know what happened when Kenny played me when I had Michael Vick against the Redskins last year. Could that happen again??? Jordy Nelson was nonexistent last week but is always capable of making plays, especially against a depleted Rams secondary. I'm not sure if Zach will go BenJarvus over Ryan Grant, but Cedric Benson has a good matchup against the Colts. Our defense is actually good against the run, so maybe it will be the Ryan Grant play we'll see. Either way, Zach's gonna need excellent performances from his relatively weak running back group. Aaron Hernandez is also in that Cowboys game and he should get targets, but he is coming off an injury. Stevie Johnson gets the Giants, and that's another game that screams shootout.

Yahoo Says: Kenny wins 97-94
I say: Kenny wins, I think Kenny breaks his 2 game losing streak here, he's got the better RB matchups which is a huge advantage plus I think Miles Austin has a big game and of course don't ever forget Aaron Rodgers (though of course Zach has Vick)

Dr. Wily's Robots (2-3) vs
Salt & Vinegar Chips (1-4)

Matchup Stats
Last Matchup: Matt beat Mike 76-70 in week 13 of the 2010 season
Career Record- Matt has a 2-1 win over Mike

Overview: Matt got the W he needed in a big way last week, destroying Kenny and keeping those playoff hopes alive. Here he's seemingly getting another matchup he should win playing Mike Posey, who's team this week doesn't look great on paper. Matt Schaub has a difficult matchup playing against the Ravens while Mike has to use Percy Harvin with Nate Washington on bye. Harvin has been frustratingly not been used much by Minnesota despite being a very talented receiver. He'll face the Bears this week. Colston and Steve Smith should get their opportunities against Tampa Bay and Carolina respectively. Also since Beanie Wells is on bye, Darren Sproles should be a decent fill in against the Bucs. Michael Turner is also going against the Carolina defense, so that should be a great opportunity for some points. Scott Chandler just isn't working, and he's had two straight 0 point games. Mike needs to find a better TE on the waivers cause Chandler is not viable anymore. Matt on the hand, has the lethal Fred Jackson (who would've thought I'd say that?) and Adrian Peterson combo and though Peterson has a rough matchup against the Bears, he's Adrian Peterson, you don't bench him. Fred Jackson faces a weak Giants Defense so he could be in for another huge game. Eli Manning starts, since Phillip Rivers is on a bye and that game against Buffalo might be a shootout and Eli has been surprisingly great the past few weeks. Is this the week Dustin Keller FINALLY does something?? Matt will have him in his back pocket on Monday Night along with Brandon Marshall in the Jets/Dolphins Showdown. Cincinnati against that Colts D should be great for stud rookie A.J Green. You have to lower expectations for Santana Moss as the Eagles secondary is pretty good about shutting down #1 WR's.

Yahoo Says: Matt wins 94-74
I say: Matt wins, Matt just has too much firepower and I think should have no problem beating Mike this week.

Channel 4 News Team (3-2) vs
The_Twin_Killers (3-2)

Matchup Stats: Never have faced each other

Overview: This is probably one of the better matchups of the week as both guys have pretty good teams. Albert has Tom Brady against the Cowboys and that should definitely be a game where points are scored. Albert also has Dez Bryant in that game. What more can you say about Megatron? Dude's been a beast and this Sunday should be no exception against the 49ers. With bye weeks and an injury to Julio Jones, Albert's going to roll with Lance Moore this week. Moore is one of the all or nothing guys because that offense has so many weapons.  Arian Foster faces a tough Baltimore defense, but he might be the only reliable offensive weapon since the Ravens have a pretty good pass defense. Steven Jackson faces the Packers and it always hard to determine what kind of game S-Jax will have but he should have his opportunities. Jermichael Finley also has a prime matchup in that Rams games and he should see plenty of targets come his way. On Leland's side he'll have 3 Giants going in that Buffalo-Giants game, Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, and Ahmad Bradshaw. This should be a shootout so they all are very good plays. Stafford against the Niners should be good as well Roddy White against the Panthers, though we are still waiting for that one breakout Roddy White game. Forte gets the Vikings and their surprisingly tough D but I still expect him to have a good game. Rob Gronkowski should get some looks against the Cowboys too making him a top notch play this week.

Yahoo Says: Albert wins 106-100
I say: Leland Wins, mannnnnnnnn this is a tough one indeed, and it could seriously go either way. Both teams are pretty evenly matchups, but I like Bradshaw/Forte a little more than Foster/Jackson, though Tom Brady and Calvin could score some serious points. Either way, I can see this going both ways and won't be surprised at the outcome no matter who wins.

The Bad Robofies (4-1) vs
Hoosier Daddy (3-2)

Matchup Stats
Never played each other

Overview: You would think if there was any week Dad was gonna finally lose, it would be this one. All three recievers were picked up off waivers this week and no matter the matchups, Jason Avant, James Jones, and David Nelson are very risky high risk/high reward picks. They could literally go off or do nothing. There's usually no in between with these guys, but with Brandon Lloyd and Eric Decker on byes and just a lack of  WR depth, this is basically the best WR lineup Dad could put in. Chris Johnson is also on bye so he loses his best RB, but at least Felix Jones comes back against New England. Dad will have to use  Mark Ingram again and hope he can score a TD against the Bucs. Drew Brees will probably as usual do the heavy lifting and I love Witten against the Pats this week. For Ryan, Cam Newton is always scary and he faces the Falcons this week which  I think could provide some nice points. The Steelers Defense is not what it used to be so Ryan shouldn't be worried about MJD against them. He should worried about the health of Rashard Mendenhall though, and might think about playing Earnest Graham over him. Mike Wallace gets the Jags, and he should be fine, but Plaxico against Miami and Boldin against Houston are guys that aren't bad receivers, they just don't have the right QB to get them the ball consistently. Jimmy Graham has been a stud all year, and the Bucs matchups isn't scary at all so start him with confidence.

Yahoo Says: Ryan wins 87-75
I say: Ryan wins. Unless all three receivers go off (which COULD happen) I think Ryan should have this matchup, but with Dad you just never ever know.
