This Weeks Transactions: Trades GALORE

Wow, it's been a crrrrrrrrrrrrazy week as far as transactions go. 5 trades went through from Saturday Night through yesterday and we'll review each of them here first. I was involved in 3 of them, Mike in 2, my dad in two and Kenny, Albert, and Leland one a piece. Teams are trying to gear up for bye weeks, or also try to make some changes after a horrible start. Here's each trade that happened and in the order they happened in.

Trade #1

I get

Ray Rice-RB

Mario Manningham-WR

The_Twin_Killers Gets

Ahmad Bradshaw-RB

Roddy White-WR

Overview: This was a trade I really felt I had to make, and I've been really wanting Ray Rice since draft day. At the time, I felt I have enough WR depth to trade Roddy White off, and I sweetened the deal by offering up Ahmad Bradshaw as well. Leland now has a couple off options in Bradshaw and LaGarrette Blount to pair with Matt Forte. I feel like this is a win/win because Leland has had WR problems outside of Hakeem Nicks and now he pairs Nicks with Roddy White which has the potential to be a lethal combination. I get the RB I coveted the most, and a Rice/LaSean McCoy combo is definitely awesome to own.

Trade #2

I get

DeSean Jackson-WR

The Bad Bobofies get

Brandon Lloyd-WR

Eric Decker-WR

Overview- Dad needed some WR help because rolling with Nate Burleson and Santonio Holmes every week just isn't going to cut it so he made a two for one trade with me getting Broncos wideouts Eric Decker and Brandon Lloyd. I got DeSean Jackson out of the deal, who immediately replaces Roddy White, but I do lose to receivers who were doing pretty good so far in the young season. I picked up Decker and Lloyd off waivers, so I pretty much look at it like I picked up DeSean Jackson off waivers. I also worry that Tebow will take over the Broncos QB job any day now, and that would significantly lower the value of both Decker and Lloyd.

Trade #3

The Bad Bobofies get

Felix Jones-RB

Take Dat Wit Chu gets

Santonio Holmes-WR

Overview: Another trade I like for both teams. My dad really needed to get a better RB#2 than Brandon Jacobs (now news comes he has a sprained MCL) and Felix is definitely an upgrade. Kenny has been desperate for a WR #3 (he's used Devery Henderson and Deion Branch for the past couple weeks) and he had the RB depth to pull of this trade. Nice move by both guys.

Trade #4
I get

Greg Jennings-WR

BenJarvus Green-Ellis-RB

Salt & Vinegar Chips gets

Beanie Wells-RB

Marques Colston-WR

Nate Washington-WR

Overview: Mike Posey's 1-3 start might have caused him to think twice about his roster and he made some impact moves yesterday. Again, going for depth, which he lacks, Posey picks up two receivers that he will start right away and running back he will start in Beanie Wells. Wells has been a beast this year, but he's 3rd on my depth chart and though it would've been nice to have him this week, getting Greg Jennings was just too enticing to pass up. I traded away any bench depth I had, so if one of my guys gets hurt, I'm screwed, but the risk is worth the reward because now on paper, I'll be rolling with Romo, Jennings, V-Jax, D-Jax, Rice and McCoy. Not too shabby. Posey loses Greg Jennings, but picks up 3 quality pieces that will be immediately inserted in to his lineup.

Trade #5
Channel 4 News Team gets

Tom Brady-QB

Lance Moore-WR

Salt & Vinegar Chips gets

Matt Schaub-QB

Steve Smith-WR

Overview: Here's a blockbuster trade that came out of left field as Posey trades away one of the best QB's in the league to get additional WR depth. Now Matt Schaub isn't a bad QB, but with Andre Johnson out the next 3 weeks, his value takes a significant hit. Steve Smith looks like the Steve Smith of old and if he can keep it up, this is an excellent pickup for Mike ,who has totally rebuilt his WR core. A trio of Steve Smith ,Marques Colston, and Nate Washington is pretty nice and heads and shoulders above what he had before (sans Greg Jennings of course). For Albert, he still has Dez Bryant, Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson, and Sidney Rice, so why not grab Tom Brady??? This is an excellent move for Albert and makes him a prime time contender for the fantasy gold again.

So after allllllllllllll that, here are the other moves made around the league.

Adds

Cincinnati Bengals Defense

Mark Sanchez-QB

Jermaine Gresham-TE

Drops

Knowshon Moreno-RB

Fred Davis-TE

Overview: On top of the trades I made, I have bye weeks to deal with, and besides the newly acquired Ray Rice, Tony Romo and Fred Davis were on byes as well. I gave Fred Davis two games and he did nothing so it's back to Jermaine Gresham this week as my question for a starting TE continues. Ben Roethlisberger has been pretty bad this season, and him getting hurt didn't help matters, so I'm taking a risk and playing Mark Sanchez this week against the Patriots and their shoddy pass defense. Will it work?? We'll see. Knowshon Moreno has been an absolute BUST, so there was no doubt he was the one that was gonna cut to make room for Sanchez. I'm also spot starting yet another defense (5 in 5 weeks) going with the Bengals against the rookie Blaine Gabbart and the Jacksonville Jags.

Adds

Houston Texans Defense

Matt Hasselbeck-QB

Steven Ridley-RB

Drops

Sam Bradford-QB

Devery Henderson-WR

Danny Amendola-WR

Tampa Bay Bucs Defense

Overview: Kenny's moves were more speculative and long term than anything. He did pick up the Texans D to spot start this week, giving up the disappointing Tampa Bay Defense. Danny Amendola is done for the year so Kenny got rid of him finally, after never being able to use him. Also, with adding Santonio Holmes via trade, it made Devery Henderson expendable. Hasselbeck was an add for week 8, since  Aaron Rodgers has a bye, and Stevan Ridley is someone who Kenny can stash on his bench for now to see if he fully breaks out. Sam Bradford has been really disappointing thought part of the problem is a very bad receiving core. He's definitely cut worthy for the time being.

Channel 4 News Team
Adds

Ryan Torain-RB

Deangelo Williams-RB

Tennessee Titans Defense

Drops

Ben Tate-RB

Daniel Thomas-RB

Cadillac Williams-RB

Overview: Besides the trades, Albert takes a flier on Redskins RB Ryan Torain, who is the Redskins new flavor of the week. We'll see how long he keeps that starting position. Albert also has guys on byes so he's going to take a gamble on DeAngelo Williams and hope he can give a productive start against the Saints. Albert is also spot starting the Titans defense over the disappointing Steelers defense. Cadillac Williams and Ben Tate are definitely drop worthy, but I think I would've held on to Daniel Thomas at least for a few more weeks.

Dr. Wily's Robots
Adds

Jacoby Jones-WR

Drops

Mohamed Massaquoi-WR

Overview- Matt needed a WR with Brandon Marshall and Santana Moss on byes, so he made a shrewd move in obtaining Jacoby Jones, who should see more targets with Andre Johnson out. Massaquoi is fantasy irrelevant so no big drop there.

Hoosier Daddy
Adds

Isaac Redman-RB

Drops

Mike Williams WR (Seattle)

Overview: Ryan needs a backup plan in case Mendenhall can't go, and Redman should be the man if he can't go. Ryan drops Mike Williams of Seattle who has done nothing of note to be rosterable in a fantasy league.

The Bad Bobofies

Adds

Kellen Winslow-TE

Drops

Brandon Gibson-WR

Overview: Dad needed a TE since Witten is on bye and Kellen Winslow is a decent option but I wouldn't expect too much. Brandon Gibson is horrible so he's not a big deal.
