Week 2 Results

Well Week 2 is in the books and everyone in the league is tight. There are 8 teams with 1-1 records. Kenny Bybee stands on top alone as the last undefeated team and Albert Rodriguez is at the bottom at 0-2. This week also saw some really high scoring as 7 teams finished with 100 or more points this week including unbelievable performances by Matt (154 pts) and Kenny (144). Here's rundown of week 2.

Dr. Wily's Robots (1-1)         154
Hoosier Daddy (1-1)                72

This was never a game from the beginning as Matt's guys were just purely ON FIRE and cruised to what's going to be so far the biggest blowout of the season. Matt could do no wrong and it didn't really matter who he played because even his BENCH went off (only Dallas Clark on his whole roster finished with under 10 points, he had 9). Matt's gutsy calls to play both Fred Jackson and Dustin Keller worked and paid off handsomely. Fred Jackson netted him 25 points and Keller had 16. Adrian Peterson added 26, while Kenny Britt yet again proved why he's the best WR #3 by getting 19 points. Phillip Rivers had 20, and I could go on and on. For Ryan, it just wasn't there this week. That's the Joe Flacco I know and love, and when Flacco sucks he takes Boldin with him as they combined for 13 points. Mike Williams of Tampa Bay did NOTHING and got a big fat zero. Mike Wallace was the only player who had an explosive game contributing 18 points, while Mendenhall provided a solid 13. It might be time for Ryan to give Cam Newton a shot, cause Flacco will have more games like this than Week 1. Ryan had two guys in double digits, Matt had 9. That's why I feel like Matt's team is so scary, it's capable of doing this every week (and that's with SITTING Frank Gore).

RuggedRaymontHarris (1-1)             110
Salt & Vinegar Chips  (1-1)               101

Overview: Posey couldn't beat father and son back to back as I got my first win in a very closely contested game. Tony Romo saved not only the Cowboys but me, by coming back and performing flawlessly against the 49ers. If Romo doesn't come back I don't win....period.  Vincent Jackson went BONKERS with a couple of TD's and over 170 yards receiving, while Roddy White scored but was still held in check again. WR #3 and TE continue to be my weak spots, especially the TE position (Greshem big zero) where I've gotten 2 points combined in the past two weeks. Fred Davis...you're turn. Matt Bryant just doesn't get field goal opportunities at all, unlike Nick Folk who got double digit points for Mike Posey. Lesean McCoy had another outstanding game, while Bradshaw yet again had another modest game. It's a good thing I didn't need much from him, but Beanie Wells once again outperformed him and it's making think of making a move soon. Brady did his "usual", luckily outside of Greg Jennings, Mike's WR were quiet, but his RB combo of Michael Turner/Green-Ellis was excellent, especially Turner, who gave Mike a fighting chance to win at the end.  The biggest shocker was Antonio Gates. No, he wasnt hurt, he just got held in check and scored exactly 0 points. That's a huge crushing blow, considering most thought Gates was due for a big game.

Key Players

Tony Romo (RuggedRaymontHarris) 345 yards passing 2 passing TD's 21 pts (with Punctured Lung/Fractured Rib)

Vincent Jackson (RuggedRaymontHarris)- 172 rec yards, 2 TD's, 29 pts

LaSean McCoy (RuggedRaymontHarris)- 95 yards rushing 2 rush TD's, 21 yards rec, 23 pts

Tom Brady (Salt & Vinegar Chips)- 423 yards passing 3 passing TD, 3 yards rushing, 28 pts

Michael Turner (Salt & Vinegar Chips)- 114 rushing yards, 1 rush TD, 32 yards rec, 20 pts

Disappointing Players

Jermaine Gresham (RuggedRaymontHarris)- 8 yards receiving, 0 points

Antonio Gates (Salt & Vinegar Chips)- 0 yards receiving, 0 points

Take Dat Wit Chu (2-0)       144
The_Twin_Killers (1-1)       118

Overview- This was a shootout like I thought it would be, with Kenny putting big time numbers to outscore Leeland's team. Aaron Rodgers had a very quiet first half but ended up with 21 points, while Miles Austin had the best game of the week with his 3 TD's and 32 points. Unfortunately, he was also injured and could miss up to the bye week with a hamstring injury. Larry Fitzgerald had a huge game as well and Deion Branch was a nice surprise with 12 points of his own. Felix Jones was disappointing again and it's clear Kenny is going to probably go with Jahvid Best (23 points on his bench) or Ryan Mathews (18 pts) over Felix from now on. Peyton Hillis was great in his debut for Kenny chipping in 21 points, and how about Tony Gonzalez?? Most fantasy experts declared him done, yet there he is 83 yards and 2 TD's for 20 points. On Leeland's side, Matt Stafford absolutely had his way with the Chiefs, netting 26 points. Ray Rice and Forte had their usual 15 points a piece, but again what kills Leeland are those WR's. Nicks had a TD but only 15 yards receiving, Manningham got concussed, and you just won't get much from Lee Evans.  Gronkowski was huge again and should continue to be Brady's favorite TE target especially with Aaron Hernandez hurt. How bout the Lions D?? 21 points, not too shabby, but ultimately not enough to out duel Kenny.

Key Players

Miles Austin (Take Dat Wit Chu)- 143 receiving yards 3 rec TD's, -3 rushing yards, 32 pts

Tony Gonzalez (Take Dat Wit Chu) 83 receiving yards, 2 rec TD's, 20 pts

Matthew Stafford (The_Twin_Killers) 294 yards passing, 4 passing TD's 1 INT, 1 rushing yard 26 pts

Lions Defense (The_Twin_Killers)- 3 points allowed, 2 sacks, 2 INT's, 3 Fumble Recoveries, 21 pts

Disappointing Players

Felix Jones (Take Dat Wit Chu) 25 yards rushing, 5 yards receiving, 2 points

Hakeem Nicks (The_Twin_Killers) 15 yards receiving, 1 rec TD, 7 pts

The Bad Bobofies (1-1)                 89
Channel 4 News Team (0-2)         79

Overview: Albert once again forgets to check his team before game time and plays an inactive player, this time Dez Bryant and if he played Julio Jones he would have at least tied my dad as Jones had 100 yards receiving. Instead, Albert drops to 0-2 and is the only team to have not won a game. My dad on the other hand, wins his first ever fantasy football matchup, so congrats to him! Overall, both teams were pretty low scoring, luckily for my dad Drew Brees carried the load and on the last game of the night with a 1 points lead and with dad having Brandon Jacobs to Albert's Cadillac Williams, it was Brandon Jacobs who decisively won the battle ,scoring a TD and getting dad 12 points to seal the deal. Chris Johnson and Desean Jackson were non-factors, while Nate Burleson and Santonio Holmes provided modest games. Calvin Johnson, Steve Smith, Matt Schaub, and Pittsburgh's D were all good plays, but Arian Foster got hurt and once again running backs did Albert in.

Key Players

Drew Brees (The Bad Bobofies)- 270 yards passing, 2 passing TD's, 2 rushing yards, 22 points

Brandon Jacobs (The Bad Bobofies) 50 rushing yards, 1 rush TD, 17 rec yards, 12 points (Monday Night game that clinched victory)

Calvin Johnson (Channel 4 News Team)- 29 yards receiving, 2 rec TD's, 14 points

Disappointing Players

Desean Jackson (The Bad Bobofies) 21 yards receiving, 2 points

Chris Johnson (The Bad Bobofies) 53 yards rushing, 12 yards receiving, 6 points

Arian Foster (Channel 4 News Team) 33 yards rushing, 7 yards receiving, 3 points (left game with injury)

Shredders (1-1)            123
Da Boyz (1-1)                106

Overview: Another high scoring affair as Zach was able to outlast Cindy and believe it or not the guys Zach got in the trade with Kenny were huge difference makers. Unfortunately Zach was hit with some major injuries. He lost Jamaal Charles for the season (now he has no real #1 RB) and also lost Michael Vick and Aaron Hernandez, and Brandon Lloyd missed this past game with an injury. Jordy Nelson looked like he was going to have a crappy day, but got a late long score and ended up with  14 points. Jeremy Maclin was an absolute STUD with 171 yards and 2 td's with equals to 29 points. His weakness will be his running backs as both the ones he played (Benson, Tolbert) only had 6 points apiece. Stevie Johnson also had a nice game with 15 points and even the Giants D showed up to seal the deal with 12 points. Darren McFadden continues to roll with another awesome performance for Cindy. 70 yards rushing and receiving and two td's for the day for him. Andre Johnson was his usual superstar self as well, and though no one wasn't really terrible for Cindy, Zach just plain outscored her to earn his first victory of the year.

Key Players

Jeremy Maclin (Shredders) 171 yards receiving, 2 receiving TD's, 29 points

Darren McFadden (Da Boyz) 72 yards rushing, 1 rush TD, 71 receiving yards, 1 rec TD, 24 points.

Disappointing Players

Reggie Wayne (Da Boyz) 66 yards receiving, 6 points

Cedric Benson (Shredders) 59 yards rushing, 19 yards receiving, 6 points

Mike Tolbert (Shredders) 10 yards rushing, 73 receiving yards, 1 fumble lost, 6 points
