Week 1 Results

Week 1 is officially wrapped up and here are the results

Take Dat Wit Chu (1-0)              91
RuggedRaymontHarris (0-1)     82

When you try to play cute with your team, it can bite you in the ass and that's exactly what happened to me. I originally was slated to play Houston's Defense, but made a late change and went with Cleveland against the inexperienced Andy Dalton led Bengals. HUGE COSTLY MISTAKE. Had I kept Houston's D, I'd be the one with the W. As it was, I only got 4 measly points from that shitty Browns D. Both of our teams played pretty pedestrian with the exception of a couple players. LaSean McCoy did his best to carry my team with 25 points, and Romo fantasy wise provided a solid game against the tough Jets D. My wide receivers were HORRIBLE, with none of them getting more than 6 points (including Vincent Jackson getting a measly 3) but Kenny's were just as bad as Fitzgerald was held to 6, and Maclin 2. Only Miles Austin showed up. Kenny's D (Baltimore) provided the punch

Key Players

Aaron Rodgers(Take Dat Wit Chu)- 312 passing yards 3 TD's 24 points

LaSean McCoy(RuggedRaymontHarris)- 122 rushing yards, 15 receiving yards, 2 TD's, 25 pts

 Disappointing Players

Vincent Jackson (RuggedRaymontHarris)- 31 yards receiving, 3 pts

Larry Fitzgerald- 62 yards receiving, 6 points

Salt & Vinegar Chips (1-0)     108
The Bad Bobofies (0-1)                    83

Dad learned the hard way how difficult and unpredictable fantasy football could be. With three players left and a lead my Dad looked like he might pull off his first victory, but the Pats D, Chad Ochocinco, and Stephen Gostkowski were all held in check and the biggest setback? Playing against Tom Brady. Yep Mike Posey had Brady and Benjarvus Green-Ellis and this ended up being a blowout, even thought  it wasn't decided until Monday night. Brady's unbelievable 500+ yard 4 TD performance was just too much to overcome and despite taking a zero at receiver (by playing Lance Moore) Posey cruised to victory. Dad got nothing from his RB's (Chris Johnson was horrific as was Brandon Jacobs) which really hurt despite solid performances by DeSean Jackson, Drew Brees, and Jason Witten. The RB2 position and WR3 position are going to be big time weaknesses all year unless Dad makes a trade or find someone off free agents. Outside of Brady, Greg Jennings and Michael Turner had solid games, and all around his guys performed solid across the board.

Key Players

Tom Brady (Salt & Vinegar Chips)- 517 yards passing 1 INT, 4 TD's, 35 points

Drew Brees (The Bad Bobofies)- 419 yards passing, 3 TD's, 28 points

Disappointing Players

Chris Johnson (The Bad Bobofies)- 24 yards rushing, 25 yards receiving 4 points

Hoosier Daddy (1-0)                         99
Channel 4 News Team (0-1)                   78

Albert was doomed from the get go. First playing Arian Foster when he ruled out was a huge mistake. Then Steven Jackson scores on the first play of the Rams first drive....and never comes back. The writing was basically on the wall and Ryan's team just went full throttle and excelled in all aspects of the game. Flacco was great, as was Boldin against the Steelers D, which was surprising. Despite Mendenhall getting only 2 points and Nate Kaeding getting hurt and not being able to kick, everyone on Ryan's team scored double digits.  Albert also got -3 from Pitt's D and despite Megatron doing his usual thing, it just wasn't in the cards for Albert this time around. How bad was it??? David Akers was his 2nd highest scorer with 15 points. Dez had a nice game for Albert, but again like Steven Jackson, it all happened early in the game. Not a great start from the defending champion.

Key Players

Joe Flacco (Hoosier Daddy)- 224 yards passing, 3 TD's, 20 points

Calvin Johnson (Channel 4 News Team)- 88 yards receiving, 2 TD's, 20 points

Disappointing Players

Matt Schaub (Channel 4 News Team)- 220 yards passing, 2 INT, 1 TD, 10 points

Rashard Mendenhall (Hoosier Daddy)- 45 yards rushing, 1 fumble lost, 2 points

Da Boyz (1-0)                                106
Dr. Wily's Robots (0-1)                        100

Upset of the week by a long shot. Matt had the highest rated team by me so of course I jinx him and he loses his first game of the season to Cindy. Of course Matt loses is probably the most sickening way you could lose. A meaningless bullshit 99 yard touchdown by Wes Welker basically sealed the deal, but just in case, Darren McFadden rushed for 150 yards to put Matt away for good. Cindy got great games from Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne as well, but it looked bleak for her as Matt Ryan, Shonn Greene, and Owen Daniels were HORRIBLE, but thanks to Welker she survived. What hurt Matt was mediocre (for them) performances by Adrian Peterson and Frank Gore. Brandon Marshall and Kenny Britt did their jobs as did Phillip Rivers and the Jets D. Dallas Clark did nothing as well. Cindy wins her fantasy debut in dramatic fashion and that's exactly what fantasy football is all about...someone's amazing luck is also someone's shitty luck.

Top Players

Wes Welker (Da Boyz)- 160 yards Receiving (99 yard td) 2 TD's, 28 points.

Kenny Britt (Dr. Wily's Robots)- 136 receiving yards, 2 TD's, 25 points

Disappointing Players

Frank Gore (Dr. Wily's Robots)- 59 yards rushing 19 receiving yards, 6 points

Shonn Greene (Da Boyz)- 26 yards rushing, 7 yards receiving, 2 points

The_Twin_Killers (1-0)                120
Shredders (0-1)                                            82

The biggest blowout of the week goes to Leeland's team who just decimated Zach's team by 38 points. This one was never a contest at any point. The Ray Rice/Forte combo was just too much, hell even Janikowski hit a 63 yard fg for Leeland. Matthew Stafford had a great game as well, as did Rob Gronkowski. Outside of Hakeem Nicks, the receiving core was underwhelming, with Lee Evans getting 0 points and Mario Manningham getting 4, but it wouldn't matter because outside of Michael Vick, Stevie Johnson was the only other double digit scorer on Zach's team. Peyton Hillis and Jamaal Charles couldn't take advantage of great matchups and both scored in single digits, Vernon Davis was quiet as well. Obviously this won't happen every week with Charles and Hillis, but when both RB's go cold, only disaster occurs.

Key Players

Ray Rice (The_Twin_Killers)- 106 rushing yards 1 rush TD, 42 yards receiving 1 rec TD, 26 points (Against Pittsburgh Defense)

Michael Vick (Shredders)- 187 yards passing, 2 TD's, 98 yards rushing 1 fumble lost, 22 pts

Disappointing Players

Jamaal Charles (Shredders)- 56 yards rushing, 9 yards receiving, rec TD, fumble lost- 9 pts

Lee Evans (The_Twin_Killers)- 0 catches 0 yards receiving 0 points
