Week 2 Results

Dad, Matt, Mayra are a combined 6-0. Me, Kenny, Drew, and Albert are a combined 2-6. No, it's not the twilight zone, it's the actually records after week 2 finished up last night. You can basically call this the blowout week, as  the "closest" matchup was a 16 point win by Mayra. There were very high scoring teams (Matt, Albert) and verrrrrry low scoring teams (Ryan, Mike). Here's a look at what happened during yet another crazy week 2.

Dr. Wily's Robots (2-0)                163
Poseidon Angry (1-1)                   133

How frustrating is it to score the 3rd highest score of the week, a score that would beat 7 other teams, yet lose by 30?! Those are the bad breaks of head to head matchups. Even with only a half of Matt Forte and a surprise inactive Antonio Gates, my team still managed to put up major points, yet it just didn't matter. Matt's team is just too strong, and though even 163 is pretty high, with this team healthy, he'll have a lot more of these high scoring weeks. His worst position player? A.J. Green (14.5 pts). Everyone else was lights out. Vick, Nicks (went insaaaane with 199 and a score for 30 points), Harvin, Foster, Lynch, all scored  an absurd 17 or more points. My guys weren't even THAT BAD. Outside of the Forte injury and Gates not playing, C.J. Spiller was a MONSTER (29.5 points), and Reggie Wayne and Roddy White were outstanding as well. Calvin was OK by his standards, no touchdown but did get 13.5 points. Even my last second replacement Heath Miller scored a TD. It just wasn't enough. Too much firepower from Matt. My team is in such disarray with so many injuries (Forte, Mendenhall, Fred Jackson, Gates, Garcon) I don't know what I'm going to do. Matt on the other is smooth sailing until the bye weeks start kicking in at least.

Bigger Balls (2-0)      114
Breaking Bybee (0-2)  98

I think most might have thought the records would be reversed for these two teams, but nope, Mayra was indeed undefeated and has now knocked out not only Albert, the defending champ, but now a tough competitor in Kenny. All without her 2nd pick Ryan Mathews. Reggie Bush and Frank Gore continue to carry the load and are doing a great job especially Reggie Bush who just flat out dominated this week to the tune of 32 points. Mayra's receivers were very disappointing (9 points combined from Andre Johnson and Marques Colston) but it didn't really matter as solid games from Drew Brees (21 pts) Malcolm Floyd (13 pts) and even a Brandon Pettigrew TD, help round out Mayra's 16 point win. For Kenny, it's just been a very disappointing start from his guys. Outside of McCoy, Gronk and Miles Austin, there has been no consistency from the rest of his players. Romo was horrible, Jordy Nelson was decent but not #1 good at all for the 2nd straight week. Brandon Lloyd was decent too, but Kenny needs more than "decent" to win games. Jamaal Charles was non existent (2.5 points) and in that offense it's going to be hard for him to really get going, especially if they are always going to be playing from behind. It doesn't get any easier for Kenny as he takes on Matt next, while Mayra looks to extend her winning streak against Ryan's struggling team.

Key Players

Reggie Bush (Bigger Balls) 172 rushing yards, 2 rushing TD's, 3 receptions, 25 receiving yards, 32 points (Week high)

Drew Brees (Bigger Balls) 325 passing yards, 1 Passing TD, 2 INT, 1 Rushing TD, 23 points

Frank Gore (Bigger Balls) 89 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 2 receptions, 16 receiving yards, 16 points

Rob Gronkowski (Breaking Bybee) 6 receptions 75 receiving yards, 16 points

Disappointing Players

Tony Romo (Breaking Bybee) 251 passing yards, 1 Passing TD, 1 INT, 13 points

Jamaal Charles (Breaking Bybee) 3 rushing yards, 3 receptions, 19 receiving yards, 2.5 points

Andre Johnson (Bigger Balls) 3 receptions, 21 yards, 3.5 points

Marques Colston (Bigger Balls) 3 receptions, 49 yards, 5.5 points

The Twin Killers  (1-1)          125
Chardee MacDennis (0-2)      84.5

Drew's lottery tickets came up short this week as Adrian Peterson and Darren McFadden both had pretty average (McFadden was horrible) games as Drew remains winless this season. For Leland, Eli Manning and Victor Cruz REDEEMED themselves big time this week with Eli throwing for over 500 yards and Victor Cruz getting 179 receiving yards. Ray Rice was his usual self contributing on both the ground and in the passing game, while Doug Martin even chipped in a TD. Julio Jones didn't do much and Leland got zero production really from Greg Olson, but it wouldn't really matter as he easily got the W this week.  Drew can't complain about his receivers. Drew plugged in Danny Amendola and the dude was a friggin BEAST. 15 catches for 160 and a score. He fumbled, but still finished with 27.5 points. Mike Wallace and Stevie Johnson also had solid games but the big news was Aaron Hernandez getting injured. It looks like a high ankle sprain and he'll be out several weeks. He got Drew a big fat 0. It's crazy to see Drew at 0-2, he'll take on my dad next week and it's really a must win as a 0-3 start would be very hard to climb back from.

Key Players

Eli Manning (The Twin Killers) 510 passing yards, 3 passing TD's, 3 INT, 29 points

Victor Cruz (The Twin Killers) 11 receptions, 179 yards, 1 TD, 28.5 points

Ray Rice (The Twin Killers) 99 rushing yards, 6 receptions, 33 receiving yards, 17 points

Danny Amendola (Chardee MacDennis) 15 receptions, 160 yards, 1 fumble lost, 1 TD, 27.5 points

Disappointing Players

Darren McFadden (Chardee MacDennis) 22 rushing yards, 2 receptions 19 receiving yards, 4 points

Adrian Peterson (Chardee MacDennis) 60 rushing yards, 3 receptions, 20 receiving yards, 9.5 points (against Colts)

Aaron Hernandez (Chardee MacDennis) Injured in 1st quarter no stats

Matthew Stafford (Chardee MacDennis) 230 passing yards, 1 passing TD, 1 INT, 10 Rushing yards, 13 points

Greg Olson (The Twin Killers) 1 Reception, 13 receiving yards, 1.5 points

Julio Jones (The Twin Killers) 4 receptions, 14 receiving yards, 1 rushing yard, 3 points

The Bad Robofies  (2-0)             108
Richard Head (1-1)                     59.5

First off, Posey head scratchingly just dropped Vincent Jackson for reasons beyond me. My dad pounced and it worked out well. This was never a contest as Mike scored the 2nd lowest point total this week, not even reaching 60 points. Vincent Jackson helped my Dad with a 20 point performance. My dad is 2-0 even with playing Rod Streater one week and Kevin Olgetree (who did nothing of note) the other. Posey got horrific play from his wide receivers outside of Steve Smith. Randy Moss and Dez Bryant combined for 4 points. Yeah, not wise to drop V-Jax. Aaron Rodgers was very mediocre with only 11 points. Mike's guys scored a total of one TD, and the only one who did anything was Tony Gonzalez. Dad didn't have to do much, but he did top the 100 pt mark. Cam Newton had the kind of game that made Dad take him in the 1st round and had 25 points. Darren Sproles had zero rushes but caught an amazing 13 balls for 128 yards. Dad is undefeated and now will face a tough test in Drew, but so far Dad has found a way to win games, just like last year. Mike's team won't be this bad all the time, but he's gotta do something about the receiver/running back situation. He'll take on Albert's red hot team next week.

Key Players

Cam Newton (The Bad Robofies) 253 Passing Yards, 1 Passing TD, 71 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 1 Fumble Lost, 25 points

Vincent Jackson (The Bad Robofies) 5 receptions, 128 receiving yards, 1 TD, 20.5 points

Darren Sproles (The Bad Robofies) 13 receptions, 128 receiving yards, 18.5 points

Tony Gonzalez (Richard Head) 7 receptions, 70 yards, 1 TD, 16.5 points

Disappointing Players

Dez Bryant (Richard Head) 3 receptions, 17 yards, 2.5 points

Randy Moss (Richard Head) 1 reception, 14 yards, 1.5 points

Aaron Rodgers (Richard Head) 219 yards passing, 1 INT, 1 TD, 11 points

Steven Jackson (Richard Head) 58 rushing yards, 5 points (left game due to injury)

Kevin Olgetree (The Bad Robofies) 1 reception, 26 yards, 5 rushing yards, 2.5 points.

Jermichael Finley (The Bad Robofies) 4 receptions, 26 yards, 1 fumble lost, 2 points

Oakland Raiders Defense (Richard Head) 35 points allowed, 1 sack, -3 points

Channel 4 News Team (1-1)          156.50
Hoosier Daddy (0-2)                         54

That is NOT a misprint. 102.5 points. That's how much Ryan lost by. It's not even a blowout. A new word needs to be made up for what happened this week. Remember when I said on paper Albert has the weakest team on paper. This was a big giant fuck you to me. Albert's team went straight up BANANAS this week. The scary thing? It could've been WORSE. Brandon Marshall SUCKED (2 catches for 24 yards). It was never in the cards for Ryan. Greg Jennings was inactive this week prompting Ryan to spot start James Jones who did nothing. Ahmad Bradshaw got knocked out early in his game only scoring 1 point before the injury. Chris Johnson...ugh..what more can you say about him. He looks to be a bust yet again. How bout Larry Fitzgerald just getting LOCKED DOWN by New England. He only had 1 catch for 4 yards....4 YARDS!! Ryan's Kicker lead his team in scoring with 16 points. For Albert, shit, what else can you say? Dwayne Bowe, Willis McGahee, and  Trent Richardson all went for 25 or more points. He started the week with a 19 point Packers D performance. Tom Brady was mediocre again, Tom Brady could've scored 0 in this match up. Demaryius Thomas finished up Monday Night with 78 and a score and chipped in 17. I don't know if a performance of this magnitude will happen again, but what a bounce back by Albert and his team. As for Ryan, his team seems to be a mess right now. Running backs are very bad, and with Greg Jennings health up in the air, it's going to be interesting to see how Ryan's team can handle the adversity. He'll face Mayra's undefeated team next week.
