Week 1 Awards

It's award time again and if you remember from last season, each week I give out up to 4 awards in the following category

Wayne McGarrity Stud of the Week- Week's best player
Michael Wiley Dud of the Week-Week's biggest bust
Tony Romo Bad Decision Award-Team that made a crucial lineup move that cost them
Drew Bennett Sneaky Surprise Award-Team that made a gutsy call and used a player that typically isn't a fantasy starter.

Here's the 1st awards of the season

Wayne McGarrity Stud of the Week
Matt Ryan (Poseidon Angry)
The main reason I won my matchup against Kenny. 299 yards passing, 3 passing td's and a rushing td to the tune of a league high 31 points. I hope this is the first of many weeks where he wins this award.

Michael Wiley Dud of the Week
Chris Johnson (Hoosier Daddy)
Everyone swore that Chris Johnson was going to be back into elite form this year. It surrrrrrre didn't like it week 1. 4 yards rushing....yes that's IT. 4 yards. Pathetic, just plain pathetic. Ryan lost by 3.5 points and CJ put up 4 yards rushing. Because we're a PPR league, that saved his overall performance a little bit, but still 4 yards rushing is inexcusable against a defense that might have improved, but should still be beatable.

Tony Romo Bad Decision Award
Drew Sits Adrian Peterson
This is tricky, because all reports were Peterson was gonna be handled with kid gloves and Toby Gerhart was gonna handle most of the work load. WRONG. Peterson showed flashes of the running back that had he not been coming off an ACL injury would've been the top fantasy back taken in the draft. 84 yards and 2 TD's in his first game back, while Toby Gerhart did nothing of note. Gerhart's off Drew's team, and Drew's hoping that this is just the beginning of the return of AD.

Drew Bennett Sneaky Surprise Award
Dad Starts Rod Streater
The true definition of a gutsy play. Was there any doubt that Streater was winning this? Here's a guy that literally will never be used again in his career for fantasy football. His touchdown catch was a game winner for Dad in week 1 and the ultimate gamble paid off in spades.
