Week 2 Matchups and Predictions

You can't even celebrate a week 1 win very long because before you know it, it's already Thursday and week 2 has kicked off. Tomorrow's Packers-Bears game kicks off the 2nd week of the fantasy season, so let's get to this week's matchups and predictions.

Poseidon Angry (1-0) vs
Dr. Wily's Robots (1-0)

Matchup Stats

All Time Record-I lead the series 5-1
Last Matchup- I won 137-72 in week 13

Me and Matt have played each other 6 times over the years, and I've basically dominated him with my only loss coming in the 2010 season. This year though might be a little different, as Matt has an excellent team, and we got ourselves an early battle of the undefeateds. I worry about Calvin and a mysterious foot issue against a pretty good 49ers defense. I also worry just how good C.J. Spiller will be as a full time starter, with Fred Jackson out, hopefully he can do a lot better than Michael Turner did against the Chiefs. Matt Ryan and Roddy White get the Broncos Monday night, while off the bat I'll use Matt Forte tomorrow night against the Packers. Kinda scared about that matchup too, and always worry about Michael Bush poaching TD's. This week I'm going to roll with Reggie Wayne, as Garcon's foot injury concerns me, and I think Andrew Luck will be targeting Wayne all day like last week. Hopefully Gates redeems himself against the Titans. My D ties into Matt's QB as the Ravens play Vick and the Eagles. Michael Vick might be without Jeremy Maclin, which would really hurt the Eagles offense. Matt's trio of Wide Receivers all have prime matchups and that could very well be the deciding factor. A.J. Green gets the Browns (no Haden, he's suspended), Hakeem Nicks gets the Bucs, and Percy Harvin plays the Colts. Arian Foster gets the Jags and that should be another chance at a lights out performance. Marshawn against the Cowboys is a toss up and Vernon Davis has a great matchup against the Detroit Lions Defense.

Predictions
Yahoo says: I win 123-112
I say: Matt wins, yup negative me is at it again. Yahoo is giving way too many points to C.J. Spiller in my opinion that combined with Calvin's questionable health, lead me to believe Matt's going to come out of this 2-0.

Bigger Balls (1-0)

Kenny's coming off a blowout loss against me, while Mayra is coming off a league high scoring week. Right off the bat Kenny has Jordy Nelson going against the Bears. He'll need a huge game right off the start. Mayra has her kicker going in that game as well. Romo doesn't have an ideal matchup against Seattle's defense, but still he's capable of putting up some numbers in that offense. As Romo goes, so does Miles Austin. Brandon Lloyd and Gronk get the Cardinals, and at least one of them has to have an impact game. LeSean McCoy has a tough road against the Baltimore Ravens, but you'd be crazy to sit him, he's matchup proof. Jamaal Charles has the talent, but will he get the opportunities to score? It's always frustrating owning someone who may not be getting the goal line carries. On Mayra's side, Brees and Colston get the Panthers, and that should provide for an excellent opportunity to rack up major points. Andre Johnson also has a great matchup against Jacksonville, but were Boldin and Frank Gore's performances last week flukes? Or do they still have some fight left in them?  They both have a chance to do some damage against the Eagles and Lions respectively. I like the Reggie Bush play against Oakland, although Oakland showed they aren't that bad of a defense. Mayra also has Brandon Pettigrew against the 49ers Sunday night.

Predictions
Yahoo says: Kenny wins 114-99
I  say: Kenny wins, I don't know if it'll be a blowout, but I think Kenny's got the stronger team this week and should get his 1st win of the season. It's really hard to trust Boldin and Gore again, but they made me eat those words last time, maybe they'll do it again this week.

The_Twin_Killers (0-1) vs
Chardee MacDennis (0-1)

Another fresh Matchup as Drew and Leland meet for the very first time. It's weird to see both guys at 0-1, and it'll be even weirder to see one of them at 0-2 to start the season. Like I said last week, the good news out of Drew's loss is that Adrian Peterson looks really good and he gets to play the Colts which is an excellent chance for him to shine. Darren McFadden gets the Dolphins, so both of Drew's RB's have great matchups. Drew's WR's don't have the best of matchups with Mike Wallace facing the Jets, and DeSean Jackson facing the Ravens. Stevie Johnson will go against the Chiefs who are still depleted on defense so it's a good matchup.  Matthew Stafford struggled against the lowly Rams last week and this week isn't any easier against San Fran. Aaron Hernandez gets the Cardinals, but as with all Patriots, you never know who's going to get most of Tom Brady's targets. For Leland, Eli Manning and Victor Cruz look to bounce back against the Bucs. Eric Decker and Julio Jones play against each other Monday Night, and both have solid chances of scoring big points. Although not as enticing, Leland's running backs still have good matchups as Ray Rice plays against the Eagles, and Doug Martin gets the Giants who let DeMarco Murray run for 130 yards on them. It looks like Leland is rolling with Greg Olson over the disappointing Fred Davis this week. Definitely a gamble sitting Fred Davis who has all the potential in the world but didn't live up to week 1 expectations.

Predictions
Yahoo Says Leland wins 112-111
I say Drew wins. This should be another close one, but I really like the rb situation for Drew and I think Stafford will bounce back as well. It'll be close but I'm giving the slight edge to Drew this week.

The Bad Robofies (1-0) vs
Richard Head (1-0)

Matchup Stats
All Time Record-Series is tied 1-1
Last Matchup- Dad won 144-73 in Week 10

Another battle of undefeateds and both of them won their matchups by a combined 7.5 points. Dad's already weak receiving trio, might get even worse if Jeremy Maclin is ruled inactive. It'll leave Dad to pick between Michael Crabtree, Kevin Olgetree, and Denarius Moore (assuming he's healthy) to fill in those two spots. My money would be on Crabtree and Olgetree but those are very shaky plays. Dad will need Wes Welker to regain his form this week against Arizona, and hope that Cam Newton has a huge game against the Saints. Tomorrow Dad has Mason Crosby and Jermichael Finley against the Bears, while he'll hope DeMarco Murray can do some damage against a tough Seattle defense. Darren Sproles at least gets a good matchup against the Panthers.Mike will have Aaron Rodgers tomorrow, he'll just hope none of the TD's go to Jermichael Finley. Dez Bryant and Steve Smith have good matchups, but Mike's made a gutsy move straight dropping Vincent Jackson, and trusting Randy Moss this week against the Lions. Huge gamble there. It also looks like Mike's gonna keep MJD on the bench and go with the Steven Jackson (against Washington) and BenJarvus Green-Ellis (against Cleveland) combo. Given the matchups, it's not too crazy, still again, it's another gamble. Tony Gonzalez gets the Broncos Monday night to finish off the match.

Predictions
Yahoo Says Mike wins 112-97
I say Mike wins. The uncertainty of Dad's receiver situation concerns me, though I think it'll be closer than the score Yahoo predicts.

Channel 4 News Team (0-1) vs
Hoosier Daddy (0-1)

Matchup Stats
All Time Record-Albert leads series 4-2
Last Matchup-Albert beat Ryan 129-105 in the Semifinals of the Playoffs

A rematch of last year's semifinals but this time it's the battle of the winless teams. One of these two teams will still be winless at the end of the week. Bad news for Ryan broke when it was reported that Greg Jennings was doubtful for the week. That's a crushing blow and Ryan will roll the dice and go with James Jones tomorrow night and hope for the best. Ryan's going to roll with Ahmad Bradshaw this week and hope he can repeat last week's performance. He does play the Bucs, so he should have a good shot at a good game. Chris Johnson was PATHETIC (4 yards) and he needs really step it up if Ryan wants a chance to win. The Chargers weren't that bad against the run against Oakland, but they can be run on. Ryan's going with Jason Witten this week against the Seahawks, and hopefully with the long rest, he'll be good to go. Larry Fitzgerald now has Kevin Kolb as his QB, and that could be trouble, but you can't bench him. Antonio Brown will face that tough Jets secondary, but Stevie Johnson scored on them last week, and Antonio Brown has the talent to overcome the matchup. Ryan will have Peyton Manning as his last play on Monday night. On Albert's side, Brandon Marshall will go against the Packers tomorrow night to start off things. Tom Brady against the Cardinals is scary good. Ryan better hope Manning doesn't throw it to Demaryius Thomas cause Albert has him and Willis McGahee on Monday night. I'm still hating the Trent Richardson play (against the Bengals) but Albert has no choice to roll with him. Jimmy Graham against Carolina is an ideal matchup. Buffalo just gave up a crapload of points to the Jets, so Dwayne Bowe has a chance to do some good this week. Albert is also playing Green Bay's Defense tomorrow night.

Predictions
Yahoo Says Albert wins 111-106
I say Albert wins, James Jones is such a risky play, and negating Peyton Manning with Demaryius Thomas will hurt Ryan. I think Albert has the slight edge and will get his first W this week.
