Who Will Get In?

I can't believe it's ALREADY this time of the season, but we're down to 4 weeks left in the fantasy football season. Once again, outside of Ryan and Eugene dominating so far most of the season, the playoff picture seems chaotic. As of today, only Dad has been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. Here's a look at the breakdown of everyone who's a contender's final 4 regular season games and whether or not they have a shot to make it the big dance.

Locked In And Ready To Go

Hoosier Daddy (8-1)

Rest of Schedule: Vs Leland
                                  Eugene
                                  Mark
                                  Drew

At 8 wins, Ryan's already punched in his playoff ticket. He's 100% in. So the next order of business is to get a bye and Ryan's in prime position to get one. He's got a 1 game lead over Eugene for the first bye, and a 2 game lead over Mike and Mayra for a bye overall. The first two matchups out of his 4 left are very daunting...I can see him losing to Leland and Eugene, but he ends the season playing Mark and Drew (though Drew IS more scary for whatever reason than he should be). I think with that schedule Ryan's more than likely going to get a bye, but it would be nice to at the very least split the Leland/Eugene matchups coming up.

As Close As You Can Get To In

Rocket Man (7-2)

Rest of Schedule: Vs Albert
                                   Ryan
                                   Matt
                                  Leland

Eugene is having another solid season, as he's been on fire yet again. It's a shame he lost this past week to Mayra, his guys were great, he just played Mayra on her best week of the season. I only put him on this list of his own because of a technicality. Because everyone is sooooo bunched up, there's a possibility a 7 win team MIGHT NOT  make the playoffs. I doubt it's going to be Eugene though. Even if he loses 4 straight (I doubt it) his points are damn high and he'll get in like that. That matchup with Ryan should be very interesting and his matchup against his brother ends the season. I think he should beat Albert's freefalling team next week at the very least to get to 8 wins, and should probably be favored against Matt. His 1 game lead over everyone besides Ryan, leads me to believe he'll be the next favorite to get a bye.

So Close You Can Smell It

Bigger Balls (6-3)

Rest Of Schedule: Vs Mark
                                   Drew
                                   Alex
                                   Me

What a whirlwind this season has been for Mayra. She started 3-0..then lost 3 in a row and looked to be in a slump then has come back with a vengeance and won 3 in a row in dominating fashion. Her team is peaking at the right time, and Jay Ajayi might be the season saver as he's been a legit RB1 and gives her the best RB trio in the league by far (with Lamar Miller and Matt Forte). Here's what also helps her...that schedule. She's definitely in big time contention to take the bye away from someone. She has a soft schedule with no teams with winning records and 2 of the 4 are at the bottom of the league (Mark and Me). It wouldn't surprise me one bit if she ran the table. If not, she's 100% making the playoffs and will be a force to be reckon with regardless of the bye.

Woe Is You (6-3)

Rest Of Schedule: Vs. Matt
                                    Me
                                    Leland
                                    Dad

The team that keeps getting injuries and keeps on winning. It's truly unbelievable how this team keeps chugging along. No Keenan Allen, No Eric Decker, No CJ Anderson, No Charles Sims, No Jacquizz Rodgers. Thanks to Derek Carr having a career year, Terrelle Pryor being a solid receiver, and OBJ, Mike's managed to survive all the carnage and more than likely will make the playoffs in his first year back in the league. His schedule isn't intimidating in the least. Matt and Leland might provide him problems, but he has me and Dad on dock too. All he basically has to do is split the schedule and he's in. I have no doubt he'll get two wins out of these 4 weeks.

The Likeliest Of Contenders

Channel 4 News Team (5-4)

Rest of Schedule: Vs  Eugene
                                    Mark
                                    Drew
                                    Alex

So basically the next group are the teams that all have a legit shot at making the playoffs. That win against Leland for Albert was HUGE because it gives him a 1 win leverage over the rest of the bunch. Albert's team will be decimated with byes next week so I'm pretty sure he'll take an L there, but he's got Mark and Drew next and he should win those matchups. Alex will be the wild card as you never know what team will show up there. The only reservation I have with Albert's team is his team has really fallen off the wagon as far as points goes. It almost forces Albert to win 3 of these next 4, which he can definitely do but it's going to be tougher than it looks.

No Soup For You (4-5)

Rest Of Schedule: Vs Ryan
                                   Matt
                                   Mike
                                   Eugene

Well...Leland was the front runner at the beginning of the season, but his guys haven't exactly lived up to the hype. I don't think many of us thought he'd have a losing record at this point of the season, but here he is. What helps Leland out of the 4 win teams is his points. He could still afford to lose a couple matchups if he keeps his typical weekly projected points up. His schedule isn't the best..3 of his next 4 matchups are against three of the top teams in the league, but Leland has the team that can do it. I just still believe there's no way Leland DOESN'T get in. He'll find a way to make it.

SCLSU MudDogs (4-5)

Rest of Schedule: vs Me
                                 Dad
                                 Mayra
                                 Albert

Again, that early loss in the season to Ryan might end being huge because Alex basically would have to win 3 of his next 4 to get in. He's been the ultimate wild card team as his team fluctuates week to week. It definitely helps that he gets to play me and Dad and he'll be favored in those matchups..but then it's Mayra which will be a difficult matchup before taking on Albert in what could be a matchup to determine a playoff spot. He's actually competitive in points so if he does get the 7 wins he can compete for a playoff spots via a points tiebreaker as of now.

Light's Broken Bots (4-5)

Rest Of Schedule: Vs Mike
                                   Leland
                                   Eugene
                                   Mark

Well..Matt has managed to keep afloat so far after what was a disaster of start to his season with suspensions and injuries everywhere. His schedule...isn't too kind though. He takes on Mike this week, then runs into Leland and Eugene. I dunno how but he needs to take 3 of the 4 to stay alive. If he somehow survives those 3 weeks, he gets to play Mark, but let's not sleep on Mark THAT much...by that time the byes are over..Mark's got Dion Lewis on his roster now, and his team COULD be a big time spoiler in the later weeks. I'm not too confident in Matt running the table, and I think the guys above him have a better shot, but this is the same guy who defied odds and won a title two years ago. Never say never.

Still Have The Slimmest of Slim Chances To Make It

THE SPOILER (4-5)

Rest of Schedule: Vs Dad
                                   Mayra
                                  Albert
                                 Ryan

Drew played his part to perfection as his team got completely derailed by injuries and ineffectiveness yet he still has managed 4 wins. The only reason he's the only 4 win team in this group is that he not only has the lowest points out of the group still duking it out...he has the lowest points in the ENTIRE LEAGUE as he's the only team who's even in the 700's in scoring. He's almost 100 points behind the 2nd lowest team. So basically Drew has no choice but to run the table to make it and outside of playing Dad this week, that schedule is BRUTAL. He somehow has to survive Mayra and Ryan to run the table. He's done a great job but I don't think it's going to be possible for Drew to get in.

Bay Area Tanners (3-6)

Rest Of Schedule: Vs Alex
                                   Mike
                                   Dad
                                  Mayra

This has been such a shit season so far, I can technically still get in, but like Drew, I have zero room for error plus I have to keep my points up because although I'm pretty close to most..I'm still off. One loss and I'm toast and that loss can come as early as this week as I play Alex off the bat. Even if I run the table though I MUST have the points to get in. My schedule is BRUTAL. I'd have to run the table while beating Mike AND Mayra...I don't see it happening. Hell, if I'm being honest I've looked at my matchup with Alex and I think I lose this week off the bat. But a chance is a chance and as slim as it is I'll take it.

Shock The Monkey (3-6)

Rest Of Schedule: Vs. Mayra
                                    Albert
                                   Ryan
                                   Matt

Congrats Mark! You still have a shot! The Bad News? One loss and you're done. The worse news? MAYRA'S UP NEXT. Yeah...besides having to run the table, Mark has the 2nd lowest points in the league. He can't lose anymore and still has to face Mayra and Ryan..plus it's not like Albert and Matt are slouches either. It a chance, but it's really the slimmest of all the teams with a shot and just like me..we could be out by this coming week.

So My Final Predictions?
Ryan
Eugene
Mayra
Mike
Leland
Albert

I think the 6 that are at top now...will be the 6 that end up making it. A lot of stuff can happen from now until the the playoffs start. Injuries...underperforming etc..so it's definitely not set in stone. It'll definitely be an interesting road to the playoffs that's for sure!
