Thursday Night Overview: "What If"

This Thursday night game was full of "what if's". What if's can drive a fantasy football owner crazy. Especially start em sit em what if's. Almost everyone who had players go last night was faced with a "what if" question. First of all me, I traded for Tony Gonzalez and had a dilemma. Do I play the struggling Antonio Gates who has an easy matchup against the Chiefs Thursday night? Or do I go ahead and wait and play Tony Gonzalez, who I just traded for, who's been better this season but has a harder Sunday Night matchup against the Cowboys. I decided to wait and play Gonzalez and lo and behold on the first drive not only does Gates get a 21 yard catch, but he follows that up with a 14 yard TD catch. Shit....I made the wrong move. I thought for sure it was the beginning of a monster game for Gates, but it ended up not being so much. He still had 11 points, but I'm hoping Tony Gonzalez can get close to or beat that Sunday Night. Here are the other what if scenarios from the other owners who had players go last night.

Mayra- What if She had played Chargers Defense and Malcolm Floyd along with Ryan Mathews? She'd be in pretty good shape. The Chargers defense scored two TD's and finished with 23 points and Malcolm Floyd scored a TD and finished with 12. Now to be fair, Mayra has the Texans Defense, who play the Bills, and Anquan Boldin who torched Cleveland last go around. We'll see if she made the right move at the end of the week. Ryan Mathews though, wasn't that great. He finished with only 7 points.

Albert- What if Albert had stayed with Carson Palmer instead of changing to Philip Rivers? Rivers started out on fire, but his overall performance was meh. 220 passing yards, two passing TD's, and a pick for 15 points. Could've been worse, could've been better. Will Carson Palmer match up that. We'll see Sunday. Albert also had Dwayne Bowe and he had decent game despite a fumble lost (8 receptions, 79 yards).

Kenny-What if Kenny started Jonathan Stewart over Jamaal Charles? After last week's abysmal performance, Kenny legitimately thought of playing Stewart over Charles this week. He decided to give him another chance. Charles was disappointing again with under 40 yards rushing and 30 yards receiving. He also got hurt at the end of the game and only finished with 6.5 points. Will Stewart surpass that? We'll see Sunday.
