Week 11 Results: So You're Saying There's A Chance?

Just like the Dallas Cowboys believe that with Tony Romo back, at 3-7, they can still win the division and make the playoffs (delusional or not), because of another crazy week here at the Wane McGarity Bowl, there is technically not one team who's eliminated from contention with two weeks left in the regular season. This is seriously the season with the most parity that we've ever had, as every team can beat anyone on any given week. I've touted myself, Mark, Eugene, Leland, Drew, Mayra, Kenny as favorites throughout the season and none of us look unbeatable (In fact Leland, Drew, and Mayra all lost this week, while Eugene barely won by under 4 points). The only thing we know as that Eugene became team #2 to punch his playoff ticket in. We all know the story and it just shows that fantasy football is as unpredictable as can be when a team like Eugene can survive the worst draft position in our league's history and overcome that and still make the playoffs. Congrats and hats off to you, sir. Now for me and Eugene, the bye still needs to be clinched, but at least we know, we'll be in the final 6. For the other 10 teams, it'll interesting and fun to see who ends up getting in. These two weeks are going to be very exciting. Onto the results.

Kumamon Express (9-2)                 85.48
Winter Is Over (5-6)                        71.48

This was a weird week, scoring wise, as only one team went over 100 points (Dad cleared that by 40 again, as his team has been a scoring MACHINE), while only two other teams scored 90 points. Very bad football all around this past week. So I get win #9, which is crucial, because I believe that in the worst case scenario thanks to my points, I'll finish 2nd place and still get a bye, which I believe I NEED, because my team has been AWFUL the past 4 weeks. It's obvious the Randall Cobb and T.Y. Hilton acquisitions aren't panning out but because of their past, I HAVE TO keep starting them. Hilton did nothing really, while Cobb caught a TD, he still was held to 24 yards and dropped easy ass passes which is inexcusable as FUCK. My two wins in this 4 game span are only because the opponents I play don't have great rosters. Danny Woodhead played exactly like the late round pick he was, as he was barely a blip on the radar. I worry that with the season over, the  Chargers will just say fuck it and force Melvin Gordon down everyone's throats EVEN MORE, even though Woodhead is the obvious better back this year. The Raiders also have NO CLUE how to use Latavius Murray. He barely touches the ball and it takes TWO Tawain Jones goal line stuffs (at the fucking 1) before the Raiders say "hey, why don't we let our LEAD BACK get this" and Murray gets the 1 yard TD with ease. Dumbass Raiders. Tony Romo did indeed look rusty, but still looked good as well, and fantasy wise was ok. Won't play him against Carolina though. Greg Olsen scored a TD, but didn't do much yardage. Once again, like ALL SEASON, DeAndre Hopkins saved my ass is in the main reason I won. Against "Revis Island" he burned Revis for a long TD, and scored a 2nd one in the 2nd half when Revis left the game with concussion. 118 yards and 2 scores against the Jets. He's been beyond awesome and clutch. The only guy worth a shit right now on my team. For Alex, Delanie Walker ended up being his best play. Brandon Marshall did score a TD, but the rest of his team was just mediocre at best. Alex now has the least points scored in the entire league. He had an outside chance of upsetting me last night, down 16 and he had Brandon LaFell (I had Blount) but LaFell didn't do much and now Alex has fallen out of the playoffs due to points. He really needs a win next week against Ryan to stay alive. I'll take on Leland in a matchup that's way more important to Leland than me.

Game MVP
DeAndre Hopkins (Kumamon Express)
5 Receptions, 118 Receiving Yards, 2 Receiving TD's, 26.3 Fantasy Points

Channel 4 News Team (4-7)             92.78
No Soup For You (6-5)                     74.28

Ah..this is bad loss at the wrong time for Leland. Instead of easily beating a 3 win team and gaining separation from the pack, Leland gets blown out and now is a dangerous territory as there's a pack of wolves gunning for him as there's a ton of 5 win teams just a game behind him. Leland had a shitty start from Bortles and Hurns and just never recovered. Todd Gurley scored for him again, but had a mediocre yardage game and his best, Danny Amendola, was Monday Night when it was already over. The win for Albert, raises his playoff hopes from the dead (though admittedly he's a long shot..he still technically has a shot). Makes that loss he suffered when he didn't change out his team THAT much more devastating. For Albert, it was basically a two man show and Gronk and A.J. Green weren't those two guys. Both were quiet and A.J. Green didn't even reach 10 points while Gronk was held to less than 5. Thanks to Doug Martin (A BEAST with 235 rushing yards) and Carson Palmer (continues to perform at an MVP level with over 300 passing yards and 4 TD's) Albert pulls off the upset. Now with a little added incentive of a possibly playoff birth, Albert will be more determined than ever to play spoiler. If he somehow can beat Eugene, he ends the season with Matt, so that would be huge. Leland now needs a win against me next week so he doesn't slip into the pack.

Game MVP
Doug Martin (Channel 4 News Team)
235 Rushing Yards, 23.5 Fantasy Points

Rocket Man (8-3)                 86.98
Bigger Balls (5-6)                83.20

Wow...so Eugene survives Monday Night and gets a well deserved playoff berth by getting win #8 by a little over 3 points in what was a surprising close game considering Mayra was without Antonio Brown. Mayra got a surprisingly good game from Alfred Blue (92 total yards, and a TD) and the Dalton-Eifert combo once again came through (2 TD's) but the rest of Mayra's team was pretty awful (Leonard Hankerson did score a TD, but his yardage wasn't great). She need 5 points to beat Eugene with Karlos Williams left, but he just couldn't come through as he barely had 11 rushing yards. For Eugene, it was great to see Julio back off of bye (9 catches for 160 yards) and though Aaron Rodgers still doesn't seem right, he still put up over 20 points. John Brown added a TD, and Darren Sproles was a great spot start with a TD himself. Again, because this week was low scoring, the rest of Eugene's guys didn't do much. Eugene now sets his sights on securing a 1st round bye and he'll have to get through Albert next week. For Mayra, this is dangerous territory as she's now tied with 3 other teams at 5-6. Luckily she plays Matt next week, but of course the last time these two met and Matt was the severe underdog we alllll know what happened there.

Game MVP
Julio Jones (Rocket Man)
9 Receptions, 160 Receiving Yards, 20.5 Fantasy Points
Julio Jones #11 of the Atlanta Falcons makes a catch against Vontae Davis #21 of the Indianapolis Colts during the first half at the Georgia Dome on November 22, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Shock The Monkey (7-4)        90.00
Light's Broken Bots (4-7)       60.94

Poor Matt, even his backup's BACKUP gets hurt. That's how bad it's been. Matt loses Edelman, he picks up Keshawn Martin he ends up being inactive, he quickly replaces him with Aaron Dobson and in the 2nd quarter HE GETS INJURED. Matt just can't catch a break. This was really never in doubt, as Matt's team is totally decimated with injuries and he didn't have Big Ben or Odell Beckham due to bye weeks. Even without Emmanuel Sanders and Alshon Jeffrey (inactive due to injuries) Mark easily wins be nearly 30 points and keeps separation from the rest of the group. His 90 points were the 3rd highest score of the week, which is crazy. Jeremy Hill still sucks, but lucky for Mark he's still the goal line back and he had two TD's, while Darren McFadden had 149 total yards to help lead the way. Mark's going to need Sanders and Jeffrey healthy to be a real contender. Mark takes on my Dad and his surging team next, while Matt will try to recreate that finals magic from last year "one more time" against Mayra.

Game MVP
Darren McFadden (Shock The Monkey)
129 Rushing Yards, 3 Receptions, 20 Receiving Yards, 16.4 Fantasy Points

BigBadBob (5-6)                  142.94
Sons Of The Harpy (4-7)       71.58

Dad is just SURGING the past two weeks as he once again explodes for nearly 143 points. He's only 10 points behind me for most points scored in the league. Dad was the only one to score 100 or more points and he did it with ease. He's peaking at the right time and as of today he's a playoff bound team as the 5th seed. Cam Newton continues to be amazing for Dad as he threw for 5 TD's and had nearly 37 points. The biggest move Dad made though..was a smart one and might end up being a season saver. Marshawn Lynch was declared inactive and Dad smartly went to the waiver wire to pickup Thomas Rawls, who was there (my damn phone was DEAD, I was out to lunch with friends, otherwise I'd been ALL over that, but was surprised nobody had rostered him to begin with). Best waiver wire move on gameday BY FAR. Rawls EXPLODED with 254 total yards and two TD's for 39 points. If Lynch is indeed out for the season, then Dad won't miss a beat with Rawls. Great season saving move there. Dad also got Vincent Jackson back and he scored a TD, and while Jeremy Langford was mostly quiet, he added a TD as well. Gio Bernard was getting it done on the ground but he sure did in the air as he had 8 receptions for 128 yards. Fitzgerald chipped in 90 yards as well, as right now, Dad is the hottest team in the league scoring wise. Drew just never stood a chance this week. Demaryius Thomas scored on like the first drive of the game, but didn't do much after that. Peterson scored as well, but fumbled and had under 50 yards rushing. Tom Brady didn't even get 15 points while Amari Cooper didn't even get A POINT. Drew's dropped 3 straight, and now has an outside shot at a playoff spot. Thanks to the other losses in the season though, he's still got a shot nonetheless. He needs to beat Kenny to keep his hope alive next week, while Dad will have another tough test against Mark next week.

Game MVP
Thomas Rawls (BigBadBob)
209 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing TD, 3 Receptions, 46 Receiving Yards, 1 Receiving TD, 39 Fantasy Points
Running back Thomas Rawls #34 of the Seattle Seahawks runs with the ball after a reception on his way to score a touchdown during teh second half of a football game against the San Francisco 49ers at CenturyLink Field on November 22, 2015 in Seattle, Washington. The Seahawks won the game 29-13.

Woe Is Me (5-6)            81.78
Hoosier Daddy (4-7)    70.36

Everything is aligning for Kenny. He's won three straight and the teams he needs to lose are all losing. He's still on the outside looking in, but barely as he's the 7th seed right now. Now...this was way closer than it should've been, considering that Ryan lost both Justin Forsett (broken arm) and Devonta Freeman (concussion) early to injuries. But it took LeSean McCoy's 3rd quarter TD to seal the deal. A win is a win nonetheless and after a horrid start, Kenny's back to being a contender in our league. McCoy led the way with 123 total yards and a TD, while Dez scored a TD, while Matthew Stafford didn't throw a TD pass, he did rush for a TD and put up 20 fantasy points. For Ryan, just bad break all around and on top of that after losing Andrew Luck, he lost Joe Flacco for the season as well, so now Ryan has no QB. Forsett is a season ender, but Devonta Freeman should be back in Week 12 which is good, because Ryan's playoff chances aren't completely dead yet. Ryan just couldn't overcome the RB injuries, and the only one who stood out for him was Mike Evans, who had 63 yards and a score. Kenny did win, but man he needs points and nearly 82 points won't cut it. Still, to lose 6 in a row and STILL be in the hunt, is a great accomplishment, but there's still work to be done and he'll have to beat Drew next week to stay alive. Meanwhile, Ryan takes on a struggling Alex team next week to keep HIS playoff hopes alive as well.

Game MVP
LeSean McCoy (Woe Is Me)
82 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing TD, 6 Receptions, 41 Receiving Yards, 21.3 Fantasy Points
LeSean McCoy #25 of the Buffalo Bills scores a touchdown during the third quarter against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on November 23, 2015 in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
