Thursday Night Overview: An EXPLOSION Of Points

To say last night's Rams-Vikings game was unlike any other Thursday Night Game in recent memory would be a MAJOR understatement. Never have I seen sooo many players go for over 15 points in one game. Typically a couple of teams have a guy or two playing in Thursday Night Game. This week? A whopping 8 teams had at least one player (with a couple teams having 2) play last night. It was a high scoring affair and there was plenty of points to go around. Unfortunately for me, I got the short end of the stick. Kyle Rudolph started pretty good, 5 catches for 57 yards at halftime..and that was that. He never caught another pass and a in game where the Vikings scored 31 pts and the running game was nonexistent, it's definitely disappointing that I didn't get to really get in on the fun. The only other player that was disappointing was Dalvin Cook. Coming off an injury, Cook was on a snap count and did nothing of note, getting only 2 points. Even though Gurley was great for Drew, that Cook play along with Matt basically countering Gurley with Thielen (23.5 points for Theilen, 23.6 for Gurley) has given Matt a bigger edge this week than he had before the games started. I feel bad for Alex, he got an amazing Brandin Cooks game (22.10 Points) but Leland had Robert Woods who had a hell of a game himself (18.6 Points) and it just doesn't seem like there's a way Alex's team will be able to hang with Leland's with such a wide talent disparity. Mike an Albert should be a super high scoring affair and Mike's team continues to put up major points. Cooper Kupp was the biggest beneficiary of Jared Goff's amazing performance.  10 catches for 162 yards and 2 scores for an incredible 32.7 point. Kupp has NOT been a fluke this season and Mike has very quietly put together a well balanced team that he managed to improve by trading for Jarvis Landry. Albert had the Cousins-Diggs combo and they were back on track after last week's embarrassment. Cousins costly fumble cost Albert two points and Diggs didn't find the endzone but they still combined for nearly 53 points. Albert is still the underdog, but this has the potential to definitely be the highest scoring matchup of the week. And last but not least...my Dad. With Cam Newton facing a bye week, Dad was "forced" to plug in Jared Goff as his QB. I thought Goff would turn up a solid if not spectacular game..but I never expected a potential fantasy week winning performance. Goff was perfect (Literally, he had a perfect passer rating) with 465 Passing Yards and 5 TD's. Just insane and it has to be frustrating for Kenny who has now faced both Mahomes and Goff in their career best games. That one play literally turned the tide for Dad and though Kenny's got a great team, its going to be real tough to climb out of the hole that he's in. All in All, a very exciting, entertaining game and hopefully we  can get a few more of these types of games as the season goes on.
