Week 4 Results: And Then There Was One

Week 4 has come and gone and we are now down to 1 undefeated team. Mark's Shock The Monkey team wins yet again and is the only undefeated team left at 4-0. It's crazy that he just keeps winning, no matter how bad the matchups look, his guys just keep performing. There's a good chance he goes 5-0 as he takes on Ryan's 1 win team next. Yes Ryan won, so that means no more winless teams in the league either. Here's the week 4 results.

Not Even Lying (2-2)                106.5
Danny's Little Giants (3-1)         83.5

The illusions of my team being a contender are officially crushed even though this was closer than I thought it would be....until Monday Night that is. I no doubt have the weakest 3-1 team in the league by far. Ryan Tannehill was a HORRIBLE start and Drew Brees was...well Drew Brees and Kenny's predictably (like I said) riding momentum and has turned that 0-2 start into a 2-2 record and is right back in the thick of things. This was basically Drew Brees and Kenny's Receivers just going off and carrying his team as Doug Martin and Chris Johnson were pretty bad. DeMaryius Thomas had 2 TD's, Drew Brees 4 passing TD's, Kenbrell Thompkins was solid again with 120 and a score, and Antonio Brown chipped in 15 points. This was with Randall Cobb on a bye by the way. I told Kenny he has the team that can overcome mediocre running back play and he does. -3,1, .5. Those are 3 of my 4 RB#2 games. It's not going to work....I'm not going far with only 1 running back. Especially when that one RB has a average meh game like he did. I had no Cam Newton which forced me to go with Tannehill which was beyond a joke (3 Interceptions and a fumble). I have no real depth, I lucked into an amazing Nate Washington game (over 100 yards and two scores) but it was for nothing naturally. Garcon was good, as was Fitz, but that was basically it. I have feeling this will be a bad string of games coming up as I'll take on my Dad next. Kenny's schedule once again goes his way as he takes on a reeling 1-3 Leland team who might not have C.J. Spiller to use.

Game MVP
Drew Brees (Not Even Lying)
413 Passing Yards, 4 Passing TD's, 32 pts

Passion ofthe Puente (3-1)             127.5
Tebow4President (1-3)                     52.5

It just keeps getting worse for Leland. 66, 58, 52.5. Those are the scores of Leland's team when he loses. Wow....just brutal. Lamar Miller saved what could've have been a record breaking performance as Leland had 40 points going into Monday Night. C.J. Spiller keeps making his case for worst 1st round pick of all time. He got hurt again, Fred Jackson outplayed him again, and now there's a chance he sits out Thursday night's game. Unbelievable. Mike nicely rebounds from last week's disappointing loss and puts up a crapload of points. Tony Gonzalez had been nonexistent pretty much all season, but BOY did he come out and play like the Gonzo of old. 12 catches, 149 yards, and 2 TD's. Arian Foster also showed flashes of the Arian Foster of old, with 171 total yards and a score. Wes Welker threw in two TD's for good measure and only Vincent Jackson and Pierre Thomas were disappointing. Mike needs a legit RB2, but the rest of his team is so damn good, that it's not an urgent need in my opinion. Leland takes on a red hot Kenny team next, while Mike takes on an underachieving Matt team in week 5.

Game MVP
Tony Gonzalez (Passion ofthe Puente)
12 catches, 149 yards, 2 receiving TD's, 32 points
Gonzalez's TD catch helps Falcons tie Pats at half

Hoosier Daddy (1-3)           92
Dr. Light's Robots (1-3)     74.5

Ryan is in THE WIN COLUMN! Ryan becomes the last team to pick up a W as he beat Matt's underachieving team. It was sort of a must win for Ryan, as he didn't want to start 0-4 off the bat. FINALLY Tom Brady had a Brady like game with 316 passing yards and 2 passing TD's. Marshawn Lynch was great against a tough Texans Defense as he scored a TD and rushed for 98 yards. Torrey Smith was a pleasant surprise 5 catches for 166 yards and a TD. For Matt...74.5 points...not good. Reggie Wayne and Jamaal Charles were really the only ones who bothered to show up. MJD.....it's not looking good for him at all, but really it's all Matt has at that RB 2 position. Vick and Griffin once again had a similar games, which weren't great at all. It's gotta be frustrating to keep having to play this starting game week after week, but again, barring a QB injury, it's hard to trade QB's. It doesn't get any easier for Matt, he takes on Mike Posey's team next, while Ryan has the daunting task to try to take out the last undefeated team as he plays Mark week 5.

Game MVP
Torrey Smith (Hoosier Daddy)
5 receptions, 166 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 24.5 points

I'm A Paul Heyman Guy (2-2)              110
The Bad Robofies (2-2)                         86.5

Another team that is slowly going to start gaining momentum. Drew has only had his entire team healthy one week out of 4. When they're all back....look out cause it's pretty dangerous. Jordan Cameron....so far the steal of the year. He's been amazing all season as he added 10 catches for 91 and a score. 40 points from Reggie Bush and Adrian Peterson (3 TD's Combineds, 279 rushing yards combined...most lethal backfield in the league by far). Add a modest 18.5 Andrew Luck performance and it was enough to put away Dad this week. We talked about Kaepernick and Boldin's start on Friday, and unfortunately Dad needed a lot more. Ray Rice....wow....1 point. Horrible. Dad also lost DMC to an injury and right now there's no timetable for his return. Andre Johnson did his usual 100 yards no TD performance but how about Jimmy Graham once again carrying Dad's team. He's shown he was definitely worth that 2nd round pick. He scored 2 more TD's and had 24 points. Drew's got a tough matchup against Albert (Drew will be without Adrian Peterson who's on bye) while it's the Father-Son matchup as Dad takes me on next week.

Game MVP
Adrian Peterson (I'm A Paul Heyman Guy)
140 rushing yards, 2 rushing TD's, 26 points

Bigger Balls (2-2)                        117
Channel 4 News Team (1-2)        80.5

Mayra's team so far has reminded me of the Dallas Cowboys, inconsistent week to week. Her team doesn't show up, it shows up, doesn't show up, and this week showed up. What's impressive though is she did it without Aaron Rodgers. She made a gutsy call starting Jake Locker and he was on his way to what looked like an amazing game before he got hurt. He still managed 3 TD's in the first half. Another smart spot start was Fred Jackson who scored a TD. Calvin got another TD, Dez got 2, and what about Darren Sproles finally showing up in  HUGE way. He ended up leading the way with an amazing 26.5 points.  See how scary this team is capable of being? This is WITHOUT Aaron Rodgers...he's back the rest of the way. Albert just ran into a buzzsaw this week despite a great  Frank Gore start. Alfred Morris got hurt and though Peyton Manning was great (4 more TD's) he got a whole lot of nothin from the rest of his team including A.J. Green who only had 51 receiving yards. Albert will be without Alfred Morris and Le'Veon Bell next week who are on byes, so his matchup with Drew will be tough. Mayra will hope for another dominating performance as she takes on Eugene next week.

Game MVP
Darren Sproles (Bigger Balls)
28 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 1 fumble lost, 7 receptions, 114 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 26.5 points

Shock The Monkey (4-0)           114.5
Springville-Warrior (2-2)              98

He did it again. Mark's impressive debut season continues as he easily dispatches Eugene to over take 1st place with a 4-0 record. Mark took a semi risk with Matt Forte in the 1st round but it has paid off handsomely. Forte had another great game scoring a TD, and finishing with 19.5 points. The Giants may suck, but Victor Cruz has been nothing but money, playing like a WR #1 so far this season. 10 catches for 164 and a score. Matt Ryan had a career high 421 yards passing and 2 scores, and that was pretty much enough to seal the deal. Eugene's team wasn't even bad, he scored 98 points. Russell Wilson though, for the most part, has been a disappointing fantasy QB. His 77 rushing yards saved what would've been a putrid fantasy day. Still he finished with under 10 points. Julio Jones and Julian Edelman had great yardage days, just couldn't get into the endzone. T-Rich scored again, but he just can't get yardage as he finished with 60 yards. Antonio Gates was amazing and continues to produce like the Antonio Gates of old. 10 catches for 136 and a score to lead Eugene's team with 24 points. It would've been nice to get a little more out of Eric Decker and DeMarco Murray, but the Broncos have so many weapons, and the Cowboys are a pass first team, so it's safe to assume there will be some underwhelming performances. Mark has a great chance to extend that winning streak as he takes on Ryan next, while Eugene takes on Mayra's high octane scoring team.

Game MVP
Victor Cruz (Shock The Monkey)
10 catches, 164 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 27 points
