Week 9 Results

We're getting closer and closer to the end of the fantasy football regular season (only 4 weeks left now) and we still have most teams in contention for a playoff spot. Here's what happened in a crazy week 9.

Take Dat Wit Chu (5-4)            104
The Bad Robofies (5-4)               85

Overview: Kenny wins a crucial week 9 matchup and Dad drops his 2nd straight this week. Basically for Dad, he doesn't have the team capable of putting up big points, so if his opponents can go over 100 points, it's difficult for him to get a W. Dad still hasn't crossed the 90 point plateau this season, though this was one of his better offensive outputs. Michael Bush was an excellent play this week (96 and a score, plus 33 receiving) and Dad continues to get solid games from both Brandon Lloyd and Victor Cruz (80 and 90 respectively) but it's just not enough to hang with Kenny. Chris Johnson was actually serviceable (60 and 40) but Jonathan Baldwin sucked (1 pt) and Drew Brees though good (258 passing yards and 2 TD's) had to be great in order to compete with Aaron Rodgers who was spectacular again (4 TD's 250+ Passing Yards, 50 yards rushing). Dad took a gamble with the Raiders Defense and they were horrible netting him -2 for the week. Miles Austin got hurt for Kenny, but it didn't matter, as along with Rodgers, Tony Gonzalez, Larry Fitzgerald, and Santonio Holmes all scored TD's. Demarco Murray looks real legit as well with 139 rushing yards against a tough Seattle run d. Kenny got himself back in the thick of the playoff race, while dad is slipping a little and his schedule doesn't get any easier.

Key Players

Aaron Rodgers (Take Dat Wit Chu) 247 passing yards, 4 passing TD, 52 yards rushing, 30 points

DeMarco Murray (Take Dat Wit Chu)- 139 rushing yards, 47 receiving yards, 17 points

Michael Bush (The Bad Robofies) 96 rushing yards, 33 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 18 pts

Disappointing Players

Oakland Raiders Defense (The Bad Robofies) 38 points allowed, 2 sacks, -2 points

Jonathan Baldwin (The Bad Robofies) 12 receiving yards, 1 pt

Miles Austin (Take Dat Wit Chu) 53 receiving yards, 5 points (left game with injury)

RuggedRaymontHarris (6-3)           97
The_Twin_Killers          (4-5)           82

Overview: I'm not gonna lie, this was NOT a pretty win to me, and again I am very disappointed in my WR/TE combo. I got TD's from Manningham and Jennings but little yardage, and DeSean Jackson was HORRIBLE. He fumbled and only had 16 yards receiving. The biggest mistake was playing Mario Manningham over Vincent Jackson. Jackson EXPLODED for 3 TD's and 141 yards all on my bench, while Manningham didn't even break double digits. This could've been a DISASTER, but luckily my RB combo of LeSean McCoy and Ray Rice along with a nice little game from Tony Romo saved the day. This should've even have been THIS close, as Leland didn't have the services of  Ahmad Bradshaw, Hakeem Nicks, and Emmanuel Sanders, all out with injuries. He spot started Jerome Simpson (Hit, he scored) and Kevin Faulk (miss, he was inactive). Rob Gronkowski was really the only one on Leland's team who really stood out (101 and a score), other than that he got perfectly modest performances from everyone else. He just needed more than "decent' to get the win, but he came really close. It didn't help that Forte fumbled twice (a rarity, he never fumbles) and didn't score. Leland is in trouble as he's lost 3 in a row now, and the status of Bradshaw and Nicks are both unknown. He really needs to get a win and this week's matchup against Zach could be what he needs pending on the health of his players. As for me, I get to play Kenny again in what will be a crucial game. I really need this to keep up with Ryan and Albert, and Kenny needs it to become a player in trying to get a bye.

Key Players

Tony Romo (RuggedRaymontHarris) 279 passing yards, 2 passing TD's, 13 rushing yards, 20 points

LeSean McCoy (RuggedRaymontHarris) 71 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 46 receiving yards, 17 points

Rob Gronkowski (The_Twin_Killers) 101 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 16 points

Disappointing Players

DeSean Jackson (RuggedRaymontHarris) 16 receiving yards, 10 rushing yards, 1 fumble lost, 0 points

Kevin Faulk (The_Twin_Killers) Inactive, Did Not Play

Hoosier Daddy (7-2)                 91
Salt & Vinegar Chips (3-6)      76

Overview: Mike Posey's run has been derailed by Ryan and is super hot team. Ryan continues to win, and is still in sole possession of 1st place with a 7-2 record. All this without Cam Newton and MJD who were on bye. Very impressive. It's funny because noone really stood out but every player had 7 or more points. David Akers actually led Ryan's team in scoring with 16 points. In fact ,Ryan only had 3 total TD's this week (Mike Wallace, Mendenhall, and a passing one from Mark Sanchez). For Mike, horrible games from Matt Schaub (only a rushing TD saved a truly horrific game, 119 yards passing and a pick) and Beanie Wells (30 yards against a crappy Rams run defense) did him in. Only Antonio Gates (96 yards receiving and a score) and Arizona's defense (18 pts) really did anything of note. Mike missed the services of Steve Smith this week who was on bye. At 3-6, it's not completely over for Mike, but he can't really afford any more losses. If Ryan can survive the next two weeks, he'll have Zach and Cindy for the last two weeks of the season, and those should be matches where Ryan would be favored to win. Ryan is set up for a bye big time if he keeps this up.

Key Players

David Akers (Hoosier Daddy) 4 FG's made (one from 50+) 1 XP, 16 points

Antonio Gates (Salt & Vinegar Chips) 96 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 15 points

Disappointing Players

Beanie Wells (Salt & Vinegar Chips) 20 rushing yards, 13 receiving yards, 3 points

Matt Schaub (Salt & Vinegar Chips) 119 yards passing, 1 INT, 1 rushing TD, 9 points

Channel 4 News Team (6-3)          106
Da Boyz (2-7)                                    96

Overview: This was sooooooooooooo close to being a HUGE upset, but Albert narrowly escapes with a 10 points victory. Cindy is without Darren McFadden and Andre Johnson, and yet still managed to field a very competitive team thanks to Reggie Bush of all people (92 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 50 yards receiving) Matt Ryan (FINALLY coming through big, with 275 and 3 scores) and Wes Welker (130+ yards receiving). Even Neil Rackers was game with 14 points. Shonn Greene looked like he primed to have a great game but only finished with 70 yards and ended up getting hurt as well. Cindy really needs Andre Johnson back, because the Colt receivers she has throw out there every week just aren't cutting it (50 yards combined from Wayne and Garcon) and because the running game is so dominant Owen Daniels production suffers (30 yards). Albert is damn lucky Calvin Johnson was on a bye, because it gave him an excuse to start Julio Jones and boyyyyy did he make a big return. 131 receiving yards, two TD's and 33 yards rushing to boot. I think Albert has re-found his WR #3, and that's a pretty lethal 3 with Dez, Megatron, and Jones now. Arian Foster shared the wealth with Ben Tate but still 124 and a score. Tom Brady continues to be lackluster since the trade Albert made for him but he did throw for nearly 350 yards and 2 scores (2 picks and a fumble as well though). Steven Jackson continues his career revival with 130 yards rushing and Jermichael Finley is finally turning it around with a TD. Dez and Sidney Rice were lackluster and the Chiefs  D scored -1 points, but thanks to Julio and Foster, Albert escapes with a W, and keeps 2nd place secure for now. For Cindy, it's just been one bad break after another and no one knows the status of either McFadden or Andre Johnson. Being realistic, at 2-7 it's doubtful  Cindy can make a run at the playoffs even if she runs the table now, because the best she can do is 6-7, still a valiant effort, and maybe she can play spoiler to some other teams.

Key Players

Julio Jones (Channel 4 News Team) 131 receiving yards, 2 receiving TD's, 33 rushing yards, 28 points

Arian Foster (Channel 4 News Team) 124 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 26 receiving yards, 20 points

Reggie Bush (Da Boyz) 92 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 50 receiving yards, 20 points

Matt Ryan (Da Boyz) 275 passing yards, 3 passing TD's, 1 INT, 22 points

Disappointing Players

Reggie Wayne (Da Boyz) 30 yards receiving, 3 points

Kansas City Chiefs Defense (Channel 4 News Team) 31 points allowed ,-1 pt

Shredders (3-6)              116
Dr. Wily's Robots (4-5)   91

Overview: The best example of why fantasy football is so unpredictable and frustrating. Zach and gang of misfits just went BONKERS off this week and upset Matt and his dream team of players and earned the biggest blowout of the week with a 25 pt win. Every one of Zach's starters had at least 6 points and the leading scorers? How about WILLIS MCGAHEE (163 rushing yards, 2 rushing TD's, for 28 points, ARE YOU KIDDING ME??) and Mike Tolbert (83 and 59 and 1 rushing TD for 19 points). This is with Vick being way mediocre (0 TD's) and Maclin being bla as well (60 yards). It just goes to show you that on any given week, the luck can be on your side. Jordy Nelson was on fire as well (man that trade was so good for  Zach in retrospect), he had over 100 and a score. Aaron Hernandez added a TD as well. For Matt, this is very disappointing loss as even though Adrian Peterson was on bye, he had what should been a great matchup for Eli Manning against the Patriots (Rivers actually outplayed Manning finally) but Eli was just Ok, still had 18 points, but we were expecting the world from him against the last ranked Pats secondary. Brandon Marshall was a beast (100 and a score) and A.J. Green and Dwayne Bowe had yardage, but Fred Jackson actually finally came down to earth with a fumble and under 100 yards rushing. Gore had a 100 again but no score and all in all Matt's team wasn't that bad. Zach's guys just played out of their mind and that's what makes Zach's team a wild card and scary. You never what team of Zach's is gonna show up. Imagine if Vick was halfway decent? It could've been way worse. Zach now gets to try to play spoiler against Leland, while Matt tries to get his mojo back against Cindy.

Key Players

Willis McGahee (Shredders) 163 rushing yards, 2 rushing TD's, 28 points

Mike Tolbert (Shredders) 83 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 59 receiving yards, 19 points

Brandon Marshall (Dr. Wily's Robots) 106 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 16 points

Disappointing Players

Fred Jackson (Dr. Wily's Robots) 82 rushing yards, 38 receiving yards, 1 fumble lost, 9 points

Michael Vick (Shredders) 213 passing yards, 1 interception, 34 rushing yards, 10 points
