Week 8 Results

Wow, so this week was nothing but blowouts with the closest game being 19. No thrillers, just pure domination by the winners. Here are the results

RuggedRaymontHarris (5-3)    137
The BadRobofies (5-3)                 67

Overview: FINALLY, I get the biggest blowout of the week award, as I beat my dad by 70 points this week after a horrible loss to Ryan the week prior. My guys were in full force this week especially my running back of Ray Rice and LeSean McCoy. Rice had modest yards (63 and 36) but scored 3 TD's in a huge comeback win against the Cardinals.  LeSean McCoy wasn't too bad himself, steamrolling the Cowboys for 185 rushing yards and two scores. I struggled over wondering who to play between Big Ben and Romo, and luckily I picked Roethlisberger, because Romo was horrific but Big Ben had 365 yards passing and two scores against the horrible pass defense of the Patriots. These guys along with my defense coming through again (Bengals with a punt return TD and defensive TD) hide the shitty performances from Vernon Davis (non-existent AGAIN) and my top two receivers (Vincent Jackson sucked again, as did DeSean Jackson).  I ended up starting Mario Manningham over Antonio Brown and it didn't matter both had 60 and a score. On dad's side, it was yet another low scoring affair (3rd straight sub 70 performance). If  Drew Brees is gonna suck (sacked 6 times, two picks and one garbage time TD) then there's no way Dad's gonna win. Chris Johnson is DONE, period. He's beyond horrible and is probably actually benchable now believe it or not. Brandon Jacobs did nothing as well and since Romo sucked, he took Witten with him (28 yards receiving). The only bright spots were Victor Cruz (99 and a score) and Brandon Lloyd who looks very comfortable in this Rams offense and is getting a TON of targets (53 and a score). David Nelson was David Nelson, just bla. Overall not too surprising to see Dad score under 70 again, and now he has a big time RB problem with Chris Johnson being so horrid. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the future and how Dad handles his running back situation.

Hoosier Daddy (6-2)             88
Take Dat Wit Chu (4-4)        66

Overview: Kenny has realllllllly been struggling since going 3-0, and this week his low scoring effort wasn't good enough to get him a win against the best team in the league record-wise. 66 points is all Kenny could muster this week. Having no Aaron Rodgers certainly didn't help, but yet another bad game from Miles Austin and underwhelming games from his running back combo of Ryan Mathews and Demarco Murray did Kenny in this week. The Ravens D gave up 27 points and if it wasn't for 6 sacks, that score could've been even worse. Tim Tebow was horrid but still managed 13 fantasy points (6 from running). Fitzgerald had 98 and no score, while Deion Branch had a score but only 30+ yards. Only Tim Tebow scored in double digits. As for Ryan, same old , same old, and Cam Newton once again was awesome, 290 yards, 3 TD's and 53 rushing yards. Newton is definitely the fantasy MVP of our league in my opinion, because Ryan would be dead in the water without him and using Joe Flacco. Anquan Boldin had another huge game yardage wise (145) and MJD FINALLY found the end zone. Mike Wallace was decent (70 yards) while Mendenhall wasn't too bad (70 and 20). Jimmy Graham finally had a down to earth game with only 39 yards receiving. Aaron Rodgers the rest of the way will definitely get Kenny back on track, he just Miles and Fitz to step up and get some consistency from his running backs.

Key Players

Cam Newton (Hoosier Daddy) 290 passing yards, 3 passing TD's, 53 rushing yards, 2 fumble lost, 24 points

Disappointing Players

Miles Austin (Take Dat Wit Chu) 27 receiving yards, 2 points

Jimmy Graham (Hoosier Daddy) 39 receiving yards, 3 points

Salt & Vinegar Chips (3-5)          100
Da Boyz (2-6)                                   62

Overview: Mike Posey is gaining a little momentum after winning two straight now and destroying Cindy. Now to be fair Cindy had a ton of byes and Andre Johnson is still hurt, so she had to start a makeshift team and the results weren't pretty. Matt Schaub had a nice day, going for 225 and a passing TD and also a rushing TD. Steve Smith continues to be the Steve Smith of old with a 100 and a score. After Tennessee had a crappy defensive performance against the Texans, Posey still rolled the dice and got 18 points from them against the winless Colts. Even Percy Harvin scored a TD (before getting hurt yet again). It was little disappointing seeing the Saints abandon the run especially after what Dallas did to the Rams last week, so Darren Sproles had a mediocre game as did Marques Colston. Knowshon Moreno was decent with 69 rushing yards.  Cindy really needed Wes Welker to step up and he came up small with only 30 yards receiving. Cindy's lineup included Matt Cassel, Reggie Bush (actually not that bad, 103 rushing yards), Pierre Garcon, Robert Meachem, and Marshawn Lynch. It's really difficult to win with that kind of team and luckily next week Cindy should have all her players back from byes and injury.

Key Players

Steve Smith (Salt & Vinegar Chips) 100 receiving yards, 12 rushing yards, 1 receiving TD, 17 points

Disappointing Players

Wes Welker (Da Boyz) 39 receiving yards, 3 points

Channel 4 News Team (5-3)       112
Shredders (2-6)                             70

Overview: Well Albert is on a big time roll, but more importantly Steven Jackson is on a big time roll. How bout 159 rushing yards , 2 TD's and 39 receiving yards against the Saints this past week??  Amazing, and if it wasn't for LeSean McCoy, he would've bid top scorer with 30 points. Arian Foster had a "quiet" 100 yard 1 score rushing game. That's like a crappy game for Arian Foster standards. Megatron continues to be above and beyond the BEST receiver in the game today with 125 and a score. Tom Brady was average, less then 200 and a score, and Dez was quiet, but it really didn't matter because Albert had enough firepower to hide his weaknesses. As for Zach, Mike Tolbert was a late scratch, so he added Pierre Thomas to start, and though I thought that was an excellent last second move, the Saints didn't take advantage of the Rams horrible run D, and though Thomas scored he really didn't do much else. BenJarvus Green Ellis was a dud, losing carries to Kevin Faulk of all people, and only getting 9 rushing yards.  Vick was Vick, 250+ ,2 TD's, 50 yards rushing for 24 points, but that wasn't enough to keep Zach in this game. Maclin had a 50 and a score, but everyone else just didn't have much, if they scored, they had little yardage (like Aaron Hernandez, 9 yards and a TD), and when you're playing a hot team like Albert, you're gonna need your guys firing at full strength.

Key Players

Calvin Johnson (Channel 4 News Team) 125 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 18 points

Arian Foster (Channel 4 News Team) 112 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 12 receiving yards, 18 points

Steven Jackson (Channel 4 News Team) 159 rushing yards, 2 rushing TD's, 32 receiving yards, 30 points

Michael Vick (Shredders) 279 passing yards, 2 passing TD's, 50 rushing yards, 24 points

Disappointing Players

BenJarvus Green-Ellis (Shredders) 9 rushing yards, 0 points

Dez Bryant (Channel 4 News Team) 28 receiving yards, 2 points

Dr. Wily Robots (4-4)              124
The_Twin_Killers (4-4)           105

Overview: The "closest" game of the week and even that was a 19 pt game. Despite the loss, Leland's guys gave it a legit shot, he scored 105 points, just wasn't enough against Matt's red hot team. Eli Manning is leaps and bounds better than Philip Rivers, as he had 349 and 2 TD's against the Dolphins. Adrian Peterson was a stud, 86 rushing and a TD, 76 receiving and a TD. Fred Jackson was awesome again as usual 120 yards rushing and 74 receiving yards.  Guy's so good he keeps Frank Gore on the bench who again went off. Matt really needs to make a move there, it's a shame seeing that guy go to waste. A.J. Green continues to one of the more dominant rookies in the league with 63 receiving yards and a score. Even Dallas Clark chipped in with 77 yards.  How bout Buffalo's defense?? 9 sacks, 2 interceptions, 1 block kicks, and a shut out for 25 points. Excellent play by Matt. On Leland's side, Detroit carried him this week with an excellent game with Matthew Stafford with 267 and 3 scores, and the Detroit D TERROIZED TIM TEBOW, 10 points allowed, 7 sacks, 1 pick, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 defensive TD's for 29 points! Amazing, in a week of low scores, it's a shame Leland had to play Matt. Hakeem Nicks, Ahmad Bradshaw, Rob Gronkowski, and Emmanuel Sanders all really just contributed yardage and no scores. Leland has a scary team when it's in full force, and I'm about to find that out the hard way cause he's my next opponent. Matt continues to have one of the most scariest teams in the league as he leads the league in scoring (while Leland is 2nd).

Key Players

Fred Jackson (Dr. Wily's Robots) 120 yards rushing, 74 yards receiving, 19 points

Adrian Peterson (Dr. Wily's Robots) 86 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 76 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 27 points

Eli Manning (Dr. Wily's Robots) 349 yards passing, 2 passing TD's, -3 rushing yards, 21 points

Buffalo Bills Defense (Dr. Wily's Robots) 0 points allowed, 9 sacks, 2 interceptions, 1 block kick, 25 pts

Detroit Lions Defense (The_Twin_Killers) 10 points allowed, 7 sacks, 1 INT, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 defensive TD's, 29 points

Matthew Stafford (The_Twin_Killers) 267 passing yards, 3 passing TD's, 21 rushing yards, 24 points
