Thursday Night Overview/Week 4 Awards

Eddie Lacy, Robert Blanton

So..umm..yeah Eddie Lacy is back. After 4 lethargic games and questions about him becoming Trent Richardson 2.0, Lacy blew up in a big way against a less than stellar Vikings defense. I feel bad for Drew, who the for the 2nd straight week stares a deficit over 25 points after 1 Thursday Night Play. If things play out like they should, which they did for Matt last week, this matchup is already wrapped up before Sunday. Brutal luck. Only Ryan can ecstatic about his player's performances. The shitty thing about blowouts is that if your guys are the winning side, the points stop coming. That's exactly what happened here. Leland looked like his in line for one of those monster Aaron Rodgers games, but unfortunately Rodgers piled up points too quickly and thanks to 3 TD's (1 Defensive, 2 Eddie Lacy) that he wasn't involved in, his stats were underwhelming. It's not his fault, victim of circumstance, but still Leland needs more than the 156 passing yards and 3 scores to be able to beat Kenny. He also had another disappointing play on the flip side in Matt Asiata. He manged only 72 rushing yards and lost a fumble. I had the other running back in that committee and of course my lottery ticket didn't win. They don't use McKinnon enough, and it really pissed me off they didn't use him the entire 4th quarter when the game was out of reach (not that it wasn't out of reach from the get go). McKinnon barely put up 5.5 points and it's a recipe for a loss just like I predicted. Also..on alarming trend I'm not liking is how my guys manage to score TD's on the first drive of the game and then never do anything again the rest of the game. It's happened at least three times this season already (Harry Douglas, Brandon Marshall last week, and now Randall Cobb). Randall Cobb scored a quick TD and....that was basically it. He was surprisingly in the game in the 4th and caught a garbage pass to salvage his game, but still, very disappointing as I really needed by guns to shine against Albert this week. Matt had the same disappointment as Jordy Nelson caught a beautiful 66 yard catch for a TD in the 1st quarter and...that was it. Not another catch. Bitter pill to swallow when that happens. Last but not least my only sliver of a silver lining is that Cordarrelle Patterson was awful yet again. He's not even startable anymore really. He gets zero looks. He checked out of the game with a rib injury, but he had 2 catches for 8 yards before he left. Onto the Week 4 Awards

Wane McGarity Stud Of The Week
Jamaal Charles (Dr. Light's Robots)

What a way to come back. 3 TD's, 29.5 fantasy points and the lead guy in Matt's point barrage against Drew. Welcome back, Jamaal..Matt sure did miss you.

Michael Wiley Dud Of The Week
LeSean McCoy (Arturo's Beans)
LeSean McCoy
To put this in perspective, Jerrick McKennon just scored me 5.5 points by himself on Thursday and I was super disappointed. It's still 2 points more than LeSean McCoy has had in the last two games COMBINED. This is the worst stretch of games I've ever seen an "elite" player go through. He destroyed my chances at a Week 4 win all by himself and if he keeps playing so awful, he'll be the biggest reason my team fails to reach the playoffs.

Drew Bennett Sneaky Surprise Award
Knile Davis (Woe Is Me)
Honorable mention goes to Alex playing Eddie Royal, who put up 24.5 points. I have to with the decision that won a game though and that goes to Kenny. Sunday morning Kenny was still deciding who he was going to use at RB #2 spot. He had 3 back up running backs to chose from. Alfred Blue was the initial choice, but because Kenny wanted a "Monday Night Play" he swapped Blue out for Knile Davis despite it seeming like Blue might get a bigger workload since Arian Foster was in worse shape than Jamaal Charles was. In fact when a report came out the Foster was seen limping around, Kenny came real close to changing it back to Blue, but decided to go ahead and stick with Davis. It won him the game. He had stuck with Blue or put him back in his lineup, Kenny loses by a point, and goes to 0-4 pretty much killing his playoff hopes. Instead, Kenny sticks with Davis wins by 8.5 and is on track to more than likely beat Leland and move to 2-3 right in the thick of things. Funny how one decision can alter the course of a season.

No Tony Romo Bad Decision Award this week.
