Week 13 Results: Regular Season Wrapped Up

Well...the regular season for the Wane McGarity Bowl has officially wrapped up and though there were no playoff spots up for grabs for some last game drama, there was still playoff seeds up for grabs and things..didn't exactly go as planned. What did go as planned was Ryan once again dominating and winning his 11th game and officially securing the #1 seed and bye. Ryan's 11-2 record is the 2nd best regular season record in league history (behind Mayra's 13-0 regular season in 2014) and I know he's hoping his success can continue into the playoffs. For at least a week though, he'll get a well deserved rest as he figures out who's he's going to be playing next week. Eugene on the other hand will enter the playoffs with a loss, as he barely lost to his brother this week. Despite the loss, he still has the #2 seed and bye in check and he too will get a well deserved week off. So who's playing who in the playoffs? Check the results to find out

No Soup For You (6-5)                105.30
Rocket Man (10-3)                      102.96

Too bad this really didn't mean much because it was hotly contested matchup between two brothers that came down to the wire. Honestly Leland's team wasn't even that great, this once again David Johnson putting Leland's team on his back and doing the bulk of the work. He had 175 total yards and 2 scores and this guy is seriously beyond amazing. His worst game all year? 12.4 points. That's insane. The one bright spot is that once again Leland will get to keep this guy next season in Round 14. Leland, with a potential high draft pick, will definitely be able to rebound and Leland will look to build a better team around David Johnson. Besides that, Zach Ertz was great with 9 for 79 and a score. Nothing really else to talk about as at least Leland's regular season ends a positive note, against his brother no less. For Eugene, snow derailed Aaron Rodgers dominance as he was held to under 210 yards, 2 scores and a lost fumble. Honestly that's probably the difference between a win and a loss this week. DeAndre Hopkins got a garbage TD to prop up his stats, while Julio had a solid 7 for 113 yard line. Melvin Gordon CONTINUES to get the job done and he's going to need this Gordon for the playoffs. He had a 138 total yards and a score, while Travis Kelce has been great the last couple of weeks and continued to be good with 8 catches for 140 yards. All in all still an encouraging performance from Eugene as he'll get to take a week off from the madness with a well deserved bye. Leland will get to take a break too as he has a bye as well but unfortunately, it's in the Michael Wiley Loser Bowl.

Well..this is NOT how you want your team playing like when you're about to enter the playoffs. Mike's been able to accumulate wins due to his "fantasy defense". His points against is the lowest by far in the league. Though Dad didn't exactly go off, Dad's team was also a 1 win team. Out of all the playoffs team, scoring wise, Mike's team worries me the most. Two of his last three games he's lost to bottom feeding teams in me and Dad. I just don't know where the points are going to consistently come from besides Derek Carr, Odell Beckham and to an extent Terrelle Pryor. The other guys on this team have a low floor and low ceiling outside of Stefon Diggs who has a high ceiling but because of the offense he's in also has a low floor. Jonathan Stewart will pop off for 20 points every once in a blue moon, but the guy typically scores 5-10 points a week. Todd Gurley is a poison pill, Tim Hightower is just not trustable week to week and Antonio Gates rotates with Hunter Henry which limits his snap count and opportunities. For Dad, Devonta Freeman and DENNIS PITTA of all people led the way with almost half of Dad's points on their own. Freeman has been a beast the last two weeks and he had 105 total yards and 2 scores. That trade he made for Freeman is the lone bright spot for Dad's miserable season and the good thing is, he can keep him in Round 9 next year. Dennis Pitta has been the definition of boring all season. He EXPLODED with 90 yards and 2 scores. Rashad Jennings added a TD catch, but other than that, mediocre and disappointing for the rest of Dad's guys. So Mike drops to 5th seed and will have a tough 1st round matchup against a surging Albert team, while Dad takes on Drew in the Michael Wiley Loser Bowl.

I'm not going to go too much into this match as it's largely irrelevant. There's really nothing much to say. Latavius Murray for Mark and Jordy Nelson for Matt were the only two that were great with everyone else ranging from awful to good. Mark gets his 5th win and a bye into the Michael Wiley Loser Bowl and Matt takes on Me in the 1st Round of the Michael Wiley Loser Bowl.

THE SPOILER (5-8)               68.14

Ryan finishes off the season the same way he started it...by dominating and winning. This was never even close to being a game as Ryan cruised to an easy victory. He didn't need much, but still it was good to see an awesome game from Thomas Rawls (though he did have a concussion scare) who had 106 yards and two TD's (most of that in the first half), and Michael Crabtree had a great game with 74 yards and a score. Big Ben had his usual 20 point game. It's a little worrisome to see that Greg Olsen has still not done anything of note for a while. Also, Mark Ingram's dealing with a toe injury but hopefully he'll be healed up in two weeks when Ryan needs him again. For Drew..it's just his typical dart throws..some miss, some don't. Drew will take on Dad in the 1st round of the Michael Wiley Loser Bowl, while Ryan gets a well deserved bye and will face the winner of Mike and Albert in two weeks.

Man I'm telling you....Albert's team is really starting to come around and this was a GIANT message to the rest of the playoff teams out there that this is a team to take super serious. I've always felt if he got his team together all healthy, it's a super scary team. That's 3 straight wins heading into the playoffs and it's the best streak going of the playoff teams. His team just blew up this week. Jordan Howard was AMAZING with 117 yards and 3 scores, LeSean McCoy got two TD's vultured from him but still managed 191 total yards. Doug Martin didn't do much but did score a TD as did Dontrelle Inman and to cap it off that Andrew Luck-T.Y. Hilton combo was brilliant once again with over 52 combined points between them. Alex's team wasn't even that bad but what really hurt him was Drew Brees. In a super generous matchup Brees came up as short as can be. No TD's and 3 picks. Mind boggling result and for Alex's sake I hope he got his worst game out of the way, because Brees is the guy that typically leads Alex's team in scoring so as Brees goes, Alex's team goes. Outside of Brees he still got double digit performances from every guy on his team outside of Tyler Boyd, there just wasn't one of those dominating 20 point performances this week from anyone. Alex is going to have a super tough matchup in Round 1 of the playoffs against Mayra. They've split their regular season matchups 1-1 so this year's rubber match is super important as the winner not only wins the series but advances to the Final Four. For Albert, he honestly couldn't ask for a better opponent as he takes on Mike next week.

Bay Area Tanners (4-9)    87.80

This was close but naturally as I'm accustomed to this season my team craps the bed and loses to wrap up what's been a truly horrific season. Don't even wanna recap this really. Golden Tate had a great game for Mayra and was the biggest reason she won. She finishes the season 3rd place and will take on Alex in the 1st round of the playoffs. I'll take on Matt in the 1st Round of the Michael Wiley Loser Bowl.
