Thursday Night Overview/Week 12 Awards

Dallas Cowboys v Minnesota Vikings : News Photo
So last night's game was a low scoring ugly slugfest to say the least. The most important thing though, the Cowboys got the win and are now 11-1. A win's a win no matter how ugly it is. As far fantasy purposes, it was pretty pedestrian. Zeke and Dez were the only guys to have pretty good games last night. For Ryan, he probably cemented his 11th win with this start with 105 total yards and a TD. Considering how good the Vikings D is, this was a great game for Zeke, who also had a 40 yard run taken away by a bogus penalty. Zeke outscored Drew's two plays, Kyle Rudolph and Adam Thielen who combined for 17.6 points. That's the thing with Drew's guys..they don't suck..they are just averagely consistent. They have a super low ceiling but ok floor. That's why Drew is last in the league in scoring and the only reason he can win is to catch a team in a off week. I don't think that's happening this go around. Too bad it really doesn't matter, because Mark got a great Dez Bryant game. He had 4 catches for 84 and a score. He ALMOST scored a 57 yard TD, but stumbled catching that pass. Too little, too late unfortunately. Matt barely got a little over 3 points from Matt Asiata, who with his depth, had no choice but to play. With Gronk also ruled out the rest of the regular season, I think Mark will win this week's matchup. Not a great start for Mike against my Dad. He caught 8 balls for 59 yards, and didn't even finish with 10 points. I'd still like to see how Dad's guys do, because they can easily bust too. It's one play..so I wouldn't be worried just yet. Speaking of not being worried just yet, Mayra played Jason Witten and got a 0. Does that suck? Absolutely...however it's not nearly a huge blow as it might look like. First of all, if you're going to get a zero, it might as well be at the tight end position. That position is typically low scoring anyways, and it's very realistic my tight end finishes with 0-5 points too. Also, Witten is her worst player, it's not like she got a zero from an Antonio Brown or Lamar Miller. I just played against my Dad who started last week with a 3.5 point Frank Gore game. He still kicked my ass regardless of the start. I don't put too much stock into that zero especially with the other players she has going and my guys typically being disappointments. Onto to the Week 12 Awards.

Wane McGarity Stud Of The Week
Drew Brees (Winter Is Over)
Los Angeles Rams v New Orleans Saints : News Photo
Alex's team has been hot the past three weeks and most of that is due how Drew Brees has been playing. He's been LIGHT'S OUT and this past week wasn't any different. He accounted for 5 total TD's and scored nearly 37 points. The biggest reason he not only got his win back from Mayra who beat him in week 1, but helped clinched a playoff spot.

Michael Wiley Dud Of The Week
Brandin Cooks (Bay Area Tanners)
Seattle Seahawks v New Orleans Saints : News Photo
So on the flip side of Brees' brilliance there was Brandin Cooks. In a game where the Saints put up 49 points, Brandin Cooks not only didn't catch a pass..HE WASN'T EVEN TARGETED..NOT ONCE. For a player of Cooks caliber...THAT'S INSANE. It definitely torpedoed my chance to win last week.

Drew Bennett Sneaky Surprise Play
Trevor Siemian (Channel 4 News Team)
Kansas City Chiefs v Denver Broncos : News Photo
Sometimes strategy can blow up in your face. For Drew, it was a good idea in theory, knowing Albert was going to be without Andrew Luck, take away the top streaming options and make Albert pick from a lesser group of QB's. Drew was fighting for survival and he needed any kind of advantage to have a shot to win. Unfortunately for him, Albert took a shot at typically mediocre Trever Siemian and he WENT OFF with over 32 points. Nice call by Albert who clinched a playoff spot with the win. E for Effort for Drew at least!

No Jay Cutler Bad Decision Award This Week.
