All Waiver Wire Team/Waiver Wire Pick up of the Year

Waiver Wire Pickups are essential in fantasy football. Team are constantly scouring free agents looking for the next gem to help ride their team to a fantasy championship. Every year a handful guys break out from fantasy irrelevance to fantasy superstardom. Here's the best of this year's crop.

QB-Cam Newton (Hoosier Daddy)
Acquired: Free Agency on September 11th
Is there any award Cam won't win? Hands down the best QB waiver wire pickup of the year. If you follow the league you know the story by now, Ryan autodrafts an injured Peyton Manning with Joe Flacco as his only backup, sees Cam Newton's 1st game was great, the rest of the league snickers, but Ryan with nothing to lose picks him and boom, you have the #2 overall scorer in fantasy football. Thanks to Cam, Ryan got a first round playoff bye, and 3rd place overall. No brainer here.

WR-Victor Cruz (The Bad Robofies)
Acquired: 1st September 27th by Leland (dropped for Nick Novak)
2nd: October 25th by Dad
How this guy was a two time pickup is beyond me, but I guess Leland didn't believe in Cruz, as he dropped him for a kicker. Dad used his waiver claim immediately on him, and it paid off big time. Victor Cruz ended up being dad's best receiver, and helped dad to a 9 win season.

WR-Laurent Robinson (Take Dat Wit Chu)
Acquired: November 6th
Here's a guy who came out of nowhere to become the Cowboys best receiver. While Miles Austin was out with an injury, Robinson stepped up and proved to be valuable for the Cowboys and Kenny. Kenny's decision NOT to play him in the playoffs, cost him a chance to advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

WR-Nate Washington (Salt & Vinegar Chips)
Acquired: September 25th by me (traded to Mike later in the season)
When Kenny Britt went down with a season ending injury, I pounced on Nate Washington, knowing he was gonna be the receiver to benefit the most. He didn't last on my team long, but he was good enough to help land me Greg Jennings and on Posey's team he helped strengthen Posey's WR core. Washington finished as the 16 best reciever and 58th overall player. Not bad for a free agent pickup.

RB- Michael Bush (The Bad Robofies)
Acquired: November 2nd
I'm gonna give Dad credit, he did an excellent job on the waiver wire as this is his 2nd pickup to make the team. As soon as Darren McFadden went out with an injury, Michael Bush became the man and totally rejuvenated Dad's running back situation. Bush was by far Dad's best running back, and lucky for Dad, McFadden never came back and Dad was able to ride Bush all the way to the playoffs. Despite a late start, Bush still finished 30th overall in fantasy.

RB-DeMarco Murray (Take Dat Wit Chu)
Acquired: October 17th
Even in his limited time, he was a difference maker and hadn't not been for a season ending ankle injury, no doubt he would given Kenny a solid chance at winning fantasy gold. He established the Cowboys all time rushing yards in a game record, and looked like he was the real deal. Kenny thought he had solved his RB problems, and he had, albeit only for a couple weeks. Still, when he used him, he got RB1 value.

*No Tight End met the qualifications to be included

Waiver Wire Pick-Up Of The Year

Yup, like I said No Brainer
