Even though there are only 4 weeks left in the Fantasy Football Regular Season, all 10 teams are all technically still in the running for the playoffs (YES, that includes 2-7 ME dammitt). So who's going to make it and who isn't? Who really knows, fantasy football is unpredictable, but here are my opinons of everyone's odds at the chance to vy for the Wane McGarrity Bowl. I've divided it up into several categories. Without further ado....
10000000% In
Matt (Dr. Wily's Robots)
Record: 8-1
Remaining Schedule
Drew
Me
Kenny
Mayra
C'mon, there's not a doubt Matt's making the playoffs. Hell, Matt could probably worse case scenario lose out and not only still make the playoffs but still keep a #2 seed and a bye! He's already looking good for his 9th win against Drew. His remaining schedule is tough though. Record Wise it's a cakewalk, but me and Kenny do have pretty strong teams, and Mayra only lost to Matt by 5 in their first go around. The only thing Matt has to worry about is securing a bye, but I'm pretty confident he has that wrapped up.
The Next Surest Thing
Leland (The Twin Killers)
Record: 6-3
Remaining Schedule
Mike
Drew
Me
Kenny
I think 7 wins is the ticket to get into the playoffs and facing Mike next, there's a pretty good chance Leland gets win #7 here. He then faces the worst three teams in the league, but again, we've all got better teams than our record suggests so if Leland can't get the win against Mike, he might struggle a little bit in the next 3 matchups. I still don't seeing him lose out though, and in my opinion is all but a lock for the playoffs.
Pretty Damn Good Chance
Ryan (Hoosier Daddy)
Record: 5-4
Remaining Schedule
Dad
Albert
Mayra
Mike
Here's where things start to get murky. The reason I picked Ryan next is because his bookend matchups are against Dad and Mike which he should have an excellent chance to win. Those two wins put him at 7. He already has a nice start against Dad this week and Dad is without his starting running backs again. Albert and Mayra are tough matchups, and playing Mike in the last week of the season might actually have a big disadvantage. MJD could be back for that week. I still say schedule wise Ryan's gotta solid shot at making the playoffs for the 2nd straight year.
Solid Chance
Albert (Channel 4 News Team)
Record: 4-5
Remaining Schedule
Mayra
Ryan
Mike
Drew
Albert's got a pretty favorable schedule and the only reason I didn't put him higher is he does have one less win than Ryan. A win against Mayra would be huge, and he definitely has the team that could beat his other three opponents. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Albert ran the table. You can't sleep on any of these teams, but no Matt and no Leland, and honestly no Me or Kenny, Albert will dodge a lot of big guns these next 4 games.
More than Decent Chance
Mayra (Bigger Balls)
Record: 5-4
Remaining Schedule
Albert
Kenny
Ryan
Matt
The next group is in line to get in but it's a little more shaky. Mayra has a TOUGH schedule coming up. Good thing she has those 5 wins already. Now she did beat Albert and Kenny the first time around and gave Matt a run for his money, so it's not impossible for that to happen again, but on paper, these should be very close contests where anything can happen. She really needs to pickup a couple wins, because the last thing you want to happen is having your playoffs on the line against Matt at the end.
Dad (The Bad Robofies)
Record: 5-4
Remaining Schedule
Ryan
Mike
Drew
Me
I actually like Dad's schedule, but man it's his team that is in disarray. What Cam Newton are you gonna get, and his RB situation is just such a mess. Also Jermichael Finley at TE has been the definition of bust. It's a winnable schedule though ending it against Drew and Me is going to be real tough. I'd feel more confident in Dad if I knew when exactly DeMarco Murray and Darren Sproles were coming back. Dad also really needs to win at least a couple more, becuase of it came down to the points tie breaker, he probably will lose out to the other teams in contention.
A Puncher's Chance
Mike (Richard Head)
Record: 4-5
Remaining Schedule
Leland
Dad
Albert
Ryan
Posey's been proving me wrong all season so if he does again, it wouldn't shock me. He got such a weird team, and that schedule is tough. If somehow he can grab a win before MJD comes back, his team won't look that bad. He'll more than likely have to take 3 of the next 4 though, and with those opponents, it's easier said than done.
Hey It Could Happen, I Guess
Drew (Chardee MacDennis)
Record: 3-6
Remaining Schedule
Matt
Leland
Dad
Albert
Ok, these next teams a bunch of shit has to happen. It probably won't but there's still hope. First of all for Drew, he's already an RB down cause Rashad Jennings sucked, and he's playing Matt. Not good. If he loses, he'll have to not only run the table (beating Leland and Albert in the process) but hope everyone's scoring slows down because he's 8th in the league in scoring. These past three games his team has really started to click (even in the loss against Mayra he scored 120 points) but losing McFadden is a bad break. It's going to be real difficult to pull this off, but a chance is a chance.
Kenny (Breaking Bybee)
Record: 3-6
Remaining Schedule
Me
Mayra
Matt
Leland
Andrew Luck was OK, not great, so I'm not willing to accept victory this week over one marginal game from my QB. This game is a super must win for Kenny if he wants a shot. If he doesn't win, his chances become slim to none because even if he runs the table (Last two games against Matt and Leland) Kenny is dead last in scoring so he'll more than likely not own the tiebreaker in points. In reality he must run the table to get in. He has the team to do it, the question is will his team show up, or play up and down like they have all year?
The Tiniest Most Microscopic Chance of Chances
Me (Poseidon Angry)
Record: 2-7
Remaining Schedule
Kenny
Matt
Leland
Dad
Why am I dong this to myself? Because I'm not willing to believe that it's completely over, not just yet. All the bullshit and agony of the defeat can be erased by one 4 game winning streak. The thing that helps me out is the thing that I've been bitching about all year. Scoring points. If somehow, just somehow, I can string together 4 straight wins, at 6-7 and with my points, I'd have a good chance at the #6 seed and that's all you want. To get in to the tournament. Seems easy right? Then you look at my schedule. Kenny, Matt, Leland, Dad. Ugh. Talk about earning a spot. Then I have to hope other stuff happens, in scenarios that make my head hurt. Bottom line, I've got as much of shot making it, as Matt does as not making it, but as long as there is a way, I'll never say never. If anything, I have the talent on my team to pull it off, it's all about performance, and that's one thing I nor anyone in this league can control.
