Thursday Night Overview/Week 9 Awards

Thursday night's Redskins-Vikings game provided plenty of scoring for those who had players in this game. First of all in a preview of what's to come, me and Drew had Adrian Peterson and Pierre Garcon respectively. Peterson had 2 TD's on the night for 20 points, while Garcon more than held his own with 119 and a score. It's not going to be a surprise if me vs Drew has the most points scored of the week. Mayra used Greg Jennings as her flex and he did nothing of note, providing only 2.5 points. Shouldn't really matter, but it is those kind of performances that can lead to an upset by Leland. Mark's got his work cut out for him already. Matt had RGIII and Jordan Reed and both were great with RGIII throwing 3 scores, including one to Reed. They combined for 42 points already. Great start for Matt. In the "it could've been much worse" department, Alfred Morris gashed the Vikings for 139 yards. Lucky for Kenny, he failed to score, so I'm sure Kenny is ok with Morris scoring "only" 13 points. On to the week 9 awards.

Wane McGarity Stud Of The Week
Andre Johnson (The Bad Robofies)
9 catches, 229 receiving yards, 3 TD's, 44.5 points
Calvin had the yardage last week, Andre Johnson had both the yardage AND TD's. What a performance to remind everyone just how elite he could be.

Michael Wiley Dud Of The Week
Dez Bryant (Bigger Balls)
6 catches, 64 receiving yards, 9 points

Going against arguably the worst the defense in the NFL, every single fantasy website had Dez Bryant as the hands down #1 ranked receiver. He ended up in a PPR league scoring only 1 more point than Greg Jennings who played in the same game. Mayra was already down Darren Sproles, so this Dez game pretty much sealed the deal on a loss.

Drew Bennett Sneaky Surprise Award
James Starks (I'm A Paul Heyman Guy)
40 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 10 points

The stats don't really show it, but with a narrow lead going into Monday Night and with Reggie Bush on bye, Drew had a decision to make. Should he go with the backup to one of the hottest running backs going today in Eddie Lacy (who his opponent owns)? How many touches would James Starks actually receive? Drew bit the bullet and though Eddie Lacy went crazy with a 150 and a score, thanks too James Starks 40 yards and a score, it helped secure the win and keep  Drew's playoff hopes alive.

Tony Romo Bad Decision Award
Leland Plays Brandon Gibson and Brandon Bolden over C.J. Spiller and Riley Cooper (and still wins)

You never play inactive, especially when you have a guy on your bench who ends up going off for 34.5 points. Yet that's exactly what Leland did. He also played Brandon Bolden over his #1 draft pick C.J. Spiller who happened to have his best game of the season with 15 points. Normally this was be very costly, but the funny thing is LELAND STILL WON BY 13! Nevertheless it's still a mistake and one that Mark's team failed to capitalize on.
