Before I go to the overview and awards, here's an interesting tidbit about going into Week 4 either winless or undefeated. Since 2011 (not including 2010, because it was only an 8 team league) 5 teams (not including this year) have started the season 3-0. All 5 made the playoffs. In that same time frame 3 teams have started the season 0-3 and all 3 missed the playoffs. This year has as many winless teams (3) as the last 4 seasons COMBINED. Just a little interesting fact I mustered up because as usual I have way too much time on my hands. Plus, it's something to make me feel good in case I lose to Dad this week. So anyways, Steelers-Ravens was the Thursday game of the week, and there really wasn't much action fantasy wise here. Of course I jinxed Alex when I said he'd have a great shot at upsetting Eugene, and then Steve Smith not only goes basically invisible in the first 3 quarters, but ends up getting hurt and never returning to the game. He only scored 4.4 points. Not a great start by any means. The only other two teams who had guys going were Mayra and Ryan, who are facing other. Mayra, of course had her two headed monster in Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell. Bell didn't skip a beat without Big Ben, and had yet ANOTHER monstrous game that probably saved Mayra's chances at still being competitive this week. Bell finished 150 total yards, 7 catches and a TD. Although 21 of those were only receiving, the catches themselves are worth 3.5 points. Just yet another reason why keeping Bell was definitely worth it. Unfortunately, Antonio Brown suffered big time with Michael Vick at QB. Brown was held to 5 catches for 42 yards and had it not been for OT, it could've been worse. I don't think Brown will be this bad without Ben, but there's definitely going to be a small downgrade to his production due to Vick. Ryan thought about sitting Justin Forsett, but decided against it and it's a good thing he did. FINALLY, Forsett showed signs of life with 150 rushing yards. Although he had zero catches, and shared carries with Lorenzo Tellafario and Buck Allen, it was still good to see Forsett perform when need be. So those 4 plays cover the Thursday Night Game, onto the Week 3 Awards.
Wane McGarity Stud Of The Week
Aaron Rodgers (Rocket Man)
Over 330 yards passing, 5 Passing TD's and zero turnovers. The biggest reason Eugene established the highest scoring total of the young season.
Michael Wiley Dud Of The Week
Jeremy Hill (Shock The Monkey)
For the 2nd straight week, Mark loses by under 5 points and you can blame this guy for yet another atrocious performance. Hill was held to 21 yards, which now means he's scored a total of 2.70 points COMBINED the last two games. He was Mark's 1st round pick, and he's in a race with C.J. Anderson was bust of the year. Mark could easily be 2-1 but because of Hill's ineptness he sits at 0-3 in dire need of a win to save his season.
Nothing stands out for the Drew Bennett Sneaky Surprise Award or Jay Cutler Bad Decision Award
