Wayne McGarrity All Stud Team/Stud of the Year

Here it is folks, the last awards given of the season. The Official All-Stud Team. Remember not only do stats count but overall affect on this specific fantasy league. Also I will select the Wayne McGarrity Stud of the Year. Without further ado....

QB-Cam Newton (Hoosier Daddy)
4,051 Yards Passing, 21 TD Passes, 17 INT's, 706 Rushing Yards, 14 Rushing TD's
Total Fantasy Pts Scored: 369
Overall Rank: 3
The Rookie Of The Year, Waiver Wire Pickup of The Year, and now on the All Stud Team. Yes Aaron Rodgers, and Drew Brees had statistically better seasons, but 14 rushing TD's and 700 rushing yards for a QB?? Also, I'm not gonna retread the whole story, but Cam Newton saved Ryan's season and because of him Ryan placed and trophied this year. Kenny and my Dad were both knocked out of the 1st round in the playoffs, so Cam gets the advantage there. In this league, Cam Newton was slightly more valuable to the team he was on so he gets the nod as the QB on the All Stud Team.

WR- Calvin Johnson (Channel 4 News Team)
1681 Receiving Yards, 16 Receiving TD's
Total Fantasy Points: 254 Points
Overall Rank: 8
Megatron started the season on fire, and despite a mini dry spell, finished the season on fire. The #1 ranked receiver in the game, Calvin and Matt Stafford had excellent chemistry as evidenced by the 1600 receiving yards and 16 TD'S. He was a big reason why Albert successfully defended his title.

WR- Jordy Nelson (Shredders)
1263 Receiving Yards, 15 receiving TD's
Total Fantasy Points: 210 Points
Overall Rank: 16
Here's a huge surprise. Nelson was actually the 2nd highest wide receiver for fantasy scoring. With so many mouths to feed in that system, it's amazing that Jordy Nelson did what he did, especially on a team that includes Greg Jennings. It was a down year fantasy wise for top tier receivers, but Nelson managed to take everyone by storm and put it elite numbers. A must on this squad.

WR-Victor Cruz (The Bad Robofies)
1536 Receiving Yards, 9 Receiving TD's
Total Fantasy Points: 198
Overall Rank: 21
Victor Cruz came from nowhere to become one of the most elite receivers in fantasy football. He even eclipsed Hakeem Nicks as quite possibly the best receiver on his team. Dad smartly snatched him up off waivers and he became Dad's best WR. He's the 4th best receiver in fantasy, not bad considering he wasn't a starter at the beginning of the season.

RB-Ray Rice (RuggedRaymontHarris)
1364 Rushing Yards, 12 rushing TD's
704 Receiving Yards, 3 receiving TD's
Total Fantasy Points: 283
Overall Rank: 6
Trading for Ray Rice was the biggest move I could make and it paid off big time. A dual threat in the running and passing game, Rice had over 2,000 total yards and 15 TD's (he even threw for one for fun). The highest running back ranked and 6th overall best fantasy football player.

RB-LeSean McCoy (RuggedRaymontHarris)
1309 Rushing Yards, 17 Rushing TD's
315 Receiving Yards, 3 Receiving TD's
Total Fantasy Points: 270
Overall Rank: 7
The 2nd half of my two headed RB monster. I drafted McCoy at #10 and he paid off big time. How I lost with these two in tow is beyond me. McCoy was a TD MONSTER, with 20 total touchdowns. Imagine what he can do if the Eagles committed even more to the run.

TE-Rob Gronkowski (The_Twin_Killers)
1327 Receiving Yards, 17 TD's
Total Fantasy Points: 233
Overall Rank: 9
What more can be said about Gronk? He was above and beyond the best Tight End in the game and set a couple tight end records as well. Jimmy Graham was awesome as well, but Gronk was definitely the more dominant tight end.

WAYNE MCGARRITY STUD OF THE YEAR
CAM NEWTON
Like I stated, it's all about team impact. Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees were better, but both teams they led didn't place in the top 3. Ryan didn't have a top 3 team without Cam and that's huge. With Cam, Ryan was not only competitive but got a bye and had a shot to win it all. He finished 3rd, but no doubt without Cam Newton, Ryan probably wouldn't even make the playoffs.

This is the final posting for this season. Congrats again to Albert for repeating as  champion. We'll see you next year!
