I know I'm super late on this posting, but I had to give Kenny's team props on finally winning his Wane McGarity Championship. How did the matchup go? Here's a quick recap

<strike></strike>Scott's Tots (10-6) 186.76
No Soup For You (9-6) 116.78

This was the MOST DOMINANT PERFORMANCE in the history of the Wane McGarity Bowl. Kenny's squad set all kinds of records (most points in a Wane McGarity Bowl and most points in a single game PERIOD) and there was just nothing Leland could do as everyone sans Phillip Lindsay basically just went BONKERS and this matchup was never even close. All of Kenny's main guys showed up when it absolutely mattered, Deshaun Watson, 38.46 points, Antonio Brown 37.5 points, Zach Ertz 29 points, McCaffrey 23.80 points and even waiver wire pickup Robbie Anderson put up 24.5 points. Kenny's 2nd worst player? Julian Edelman who had 16 points..that would've been Leland's 3rd best scorer. Just unbelievable performance as a group from Kenny's team who played strong at the end of the season to the tune of a 7 game winning streak and just obliterated everyone in his path with none of his matchups even being remotely close. The third time was a charm and Kenny has now etched his name in the record books as a Champion of the Wane McGarity Bowl. For Leland, an untimely suspension to Kareem Hunt and injury to Emmanuel Sanders really put a dent his championship chances. He put up a valiant fight, but there was just no way he stood a chance in this matchup. Despite Aaron Rodgers having the game of his life and Robert Woods scoring nearly 26 points, he just didn't have enough firepower to compete with Kenny. Still, Leland's a two time champ, and it's still definitely a successful season for him. Now in hindsight, I know this guy seems like he's been a giant headache, especially recently, but we don't care about off the field stuff in Fantasy Football. This guy has been the anchor of Kenny's team since his comeback, his injury last year probably cost him a title, but this year he delivered big time. In what might end up being his swan song on Kenny's team, the Wane McGarity Bowl MVP is

Could've gone Watson here too, but I just think it's harder to put up these kind of points as a WR than a QB. He came up super huge and was a big reason Kenny was so dominate late in the season.

Other League Notes: So I won 3rd place for the 2nd straight year, easily defeating Matt in the 3rd place game. To me, making the playoffs is a successful season, so placing definitely puts it over the top. I wish I could get over that semifinals hump (0-3 last 3 times I've been there), but finishing 3rd is better than nothing I suppose. As for the consolation final, this is the 3rd straight time Dad has finished there and the 3rd time he's lost. Albert wins the consolation bowl and will get the right to chose where he wants to pick next year. Our Final Standings are as follows

Well, here we are. After the drafts, the trades, the waiver wire pickups, the injuries, the agonizing losses, the awesome wins, alllllll the lucky bullshit in between, 12 teams started with a goal, to become this year's Wane McGarity Bowl Champion, and after 15 weeks, 10 teams will have to wait until next year for that opportunity. But for Leland and Kenny, their as close as close can get to achieving their goal. For Leland, it'll be a return to glory. Leland's been here before, he's 2-0 in Finals Appearances, and he'll try to win a record 3rd this season. For Kenny, it's the opposite, He's been here twice as well, both on the losing end, including last year's heartbreaker to Mark. Armed with an even better team than last year, he'll hope the 3rd time is the charm for that elusive championship. Who's dreams will be coming true? Will Kenny finally break through, or will Leland be setting records. All questions that will be answered at

How Leland Got Here: Leland's journey started out very shaky, as he started out 0-3. Ironically this is 2nd time he's started out 0-3 and made the finals. David Johnson was looking like a bust of a pick and it was looking like another possible disappointing season for Leland. He quickly turned it around though, and started scoring points in bunches, while also ripping off a 7 game winning streak. A trade for Zeke rejuvenated his team, and it started to look like there was no way Leland was going to lose again. Then..disaster struck, first the Kareem Hunt fiasco cost him huge as he lost his arguably 1st or 2nd best player to suspension. A few days later, he would lose Emmanuel Sanders to injury as well. Rex Burkhead's reemergence also has killed James White's value and to add more insult to injury, it looks like Leland will be without Tyler Boyd, the guy he traded David Johnson for, as well, add that to the uncertainty of Aaron Rodgers and Leland has a lot of question marks in route to the finals. He still finished with the #1 seed and points title, but lucky for him he got away with a subpar performance in the semis because of Matt's team's inexplicable meltdown. It's not often Leland finds himself as the underdog, but in this championship final that's exactly what he is.

Kenny Bybee (Scott's Tots)

Finals Appearances: 3rd

Finals Record: 0-2 (Lost to Me in 2013, Lost to Mark in 2017)

#3 Seed

2nd in Points Scored

How Kenny Got Here: Just like Leland, Kenny's season started off frustrating. His team was scoring points but he kept losing because his points against was just so sky high. This was exactly why we changed the 6th seed to points based. Kenny not only hit perfectly on keeping Antonio Brown and Christian McCaffrey, but after week 1 he picked up a guy who would be critical to his run to to the title. Phillip Lindsay. Lindsay has been the waiver wire pickup of the year, providing top end scoring. Kenny's super deep roster has paid off dividends as he ended the season on a tear, not even needed the 6th seed rule to make the playoffs. He easily dispatched of both Eugene and me and now heads into his 3rd Wane McGarity Bowl as once again a heavy favorite. He was a heavy favorite last year too, but fell just short in his quest for a title (thanks in part to an untimely Antonio Brown injury). Will fate once again be against Kenny? Or will he finally be able to breakthrough and become champion?

Head to Head Record

Leland won the regular season matchup 1-0, beating Kenny 159.38-85.22 in Week 7

Official Predictions

Yahoo Says: Kenny wins

I Say: Kenny wins. Neither team has looked particularly well the past couple of weeks, but there's a lot more uncertainty on Leland's side than Kenny's side at this stage of the season. Maybe this would be an epic clash if Leland's team was full strength, but unfortunately it's not. Although the way this season has gone, nothing would surprise me, I just think it's Kenny's time and he's due. I really believe the 3rd time will be a charm and I honestly think Kenny wins this pretty easily. I hope am wrong and it's at least semi competitive, but I just can't see Kenny's team as a whole underperforming as bad as it's been the last couple of weeks, and even then, he still won both of his matchups with ease. It's going to take a lot of wild card blowup performances for Leland, and I just think it's going to be too much to overcome. I believe Kenny should be the 2018 Wane McGarity Bowl Champion.

So honestly this is the worst playoffs I've ever seen in my entire time playing this dumb game. Seriously the past 3-4 weeks, when you take into account all the key injuries (and suspensions) and underwhelming performances from elite stars, it's been even more a crapshoot than ever to win a playoff game this year. Sooooo many guys busted this week, it's a who's who of top flight talent. Put it this way, not one team scored 100 points this week. And as you'll see in the recap, a record was set...but not the kind to proud of. After all the carnage, we do have our Wane McGarity Bowl officially set. So who got in? Here are the results.

And once again I fail for the 4th time in the semis as my team outside of Justin Jackson and Alvin Kamara just didn't come to play. The score doesn't really show how close this matchup was. It was really a dreadful performance from both of our teams that started with 0 for me from Keenan Allen. Kenny got a pretty good Deshaun Watson performance, but the rest of his team was average at best down to awful on Saturday Night and Sunday. Philip Lindsay was held to under 7 points, neither Antonio Brown or Julian Edelman met their projections and Zach Ertz was held to under 4 points. I was actually a 3 point favorite going into the Monday Night games with Cam, Ian Thomas, Michael Thomas, and Alvin Kamara still to go vs Kenny having Christian McCaffrey and Mark Ingram. But, as soon as the game started, the outcome was never in doubt. The game pretty much started with a 50 yard TD pass from....CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY to a random tight end (not MY tight end) and it was just an embarrassing performance from my team the rest of the way. Only Kamara did anything, as Michael Thomas was again disappointing and Ian Thomas caught two passes on the very first Panthers drive and was done after that. Cam was terrible..god awful as I got the absolute worst QB performance I've gotten since I got a 0 from Tony Romo in the 2011 Finals. He finished with a pathetic 5 points and it's beyond obvious his injury is super serious, but he keeps on playing. T.Y. Hilton and Tarik Cohen had respectable games, but nothing mind blowing. So Kenny's team is the first team to reach back to back finals since Albert went to 3 straight back in 2010-2012, and it's his 3rd finals appearance overall, which ties Albert for most all time. It was far from pretty, but at the end of the day the better team did win. For me, it really felt like a super weird season. I never felt like my team had any sorts of consistency and I basically got a bye by default, not because I had a superior team. Also, what seems to be a common theme in the playoffs for me, my team just seems to run out of gas as honestly Cam and my Saints players have been pretty average the past 3-4 weeks. This time, I had no one else on my team to bail me out. I find solace in knowing that even had I played Damien Williams, I would've lost, so lineup decisions wouldn't have mattered. That's the way it goes sometimes. If I seem calm about it, ha, trust me, I wasn't, I had my meltdown last night (didn't even bother to watch the 2nd half of the game) and this morning begrudging congratulating Kenny on his victory. It sucks beyond belief, but it is what it is and I once again have to gear from the 3rd place to see if I can get money back. For Kenny, his team has been the best team to me for a while now, especially after Leland lost to key pieces in Kareem Hunt and Emmanuel Sanders so I think he'll go into the finals as the favorite. He's 0-2 so far in the Finals, but 3rd time could be the charm, and this could be his best team out of the 3 that have made the finals.

WOW...this is the most unbelievable jaw dropping playoff performance I've ever seen and not in a good way. This is exactly why this game is so maddening and frustrating. Give a piece of two, this is the same exact team with the same exact core that scored 144 points just last week. This week...not even 50...not even 50 points..not an typo. Matt's team put a playoff record low 47.32 points in just a inexplicably awful performance. Patrick Mahomes basically accounted for half of the points. Thielen, Juju, Gronk, Kittle all massively flopped at the same time. How DOES THAT happen?! I really thought Matt was going to win this with ease, but it was just a nightmarish way to end what was a solid season. These playoffs have been absolutely awful so far and this matchup was basically over before the Sunday Night game. Leland had Robert Woods for fun. The scary thing, Leland's team was honestly not that great either and he lost yet ANOTHER key piece to his team with Tyler Boyd getting injured. For Leland, it's his 3rd finals appearance and he's 2-0 in the finals so far. He also ties Albert and Kenny for most Finals Appearances, but he can take over most Wane McGarity Bowl victories all time with 3 if he beats Kenny. It's going to be a really difficult task to say the least, but if anyone can get it done it's Leland. So the "Cousin Connection Bowl" will end up happening in the 3rd place game, while Kenny takes on Leland in Wane McGarity Bowl VIIII.

Other League Notes: As typical with the loser bracket, no one really gives a crap or pays attention much to the results, but lost in the shuffle was Dad's miracle win against the Drew. It looked like Drew had an easy win to advance to the loser bracket finals with Drew Brees left to go, but Brees was terrible and Dad advances to his 3rd straight Michael Wiley Loser Bowl Finals by a mere 2 points. He'll take on Albert who easily beat Mike in the semis. The most awkward and pointless matchup of the playoffs is always the 5th place game. I mean, there's nothing to gain from it really. Kind of a pride thing. Eugene beat Mark by 3 points. Geez, seems like the consolation bracket is a lot more competitive than the actual playoffs. Finally, in what is a matchup about pride because no one wants to finish last place, Ryan won the 11th place game against Alex. For Alex, it officially ends a season that I'm sure he'd like to forget.

You wanna know why I loathe this game so much? Because I have zero control on what actually happens in this stupid game. This is my 6th trip to the final four in the playoffs..6 times I've been here..and I'm about to fail yet again for the 4th time to even reach the Championship game. Last year it's because of a random TE Decision. This year, an in game injury has already killed my week before it's even started. Yup Keenan Allen, who I own of course, got hurt in the 1st quarter in last night's game and never came back. BIG FAT 0 in the playoffs nonetheless. Just forget any chance of beating Kenny's team (like I had one to begin with) now because it ain't happening. On top of that, I had Damien Williams in my lineup alllll week but chickened out at the last second because I didn't want two wild card plays on a Thursday in a semi final playoff matchup and since Melvin Gordon was ruled out, I thought Justin Jackson would be the better play and stuck with him and Tarik Cohen. Naturally Damien Williams goes off (of course he does, I own him and didn't play him, I promise you if I played him he'd have 60 total yards with no TD's). It's just so predictable how shit my luck is. It's beyond aggravating and I don't see how you guys shrug this shit off. Maybe it's because yall have real lives that don't revolve around this game. Anyways, Kenny's going to sail to the finals (again) while I'll get to play in the 3rd place game for the 4th fucking time and pretend to be focused on it because you get your money back. Justin Jackson WAS good, I"m not a TOTAL idiot, but it's for nothing. Oh and TY Hilton either will play but be limited or just be ruled out completely just to stick it to me even more. On the flip side of the matchups, Matt didn't get the Mahomes superman performance that he's been getting all season and I think he might be in jeopardy of losing to Leland now. He's going to need his core of Juju, Thielen, Gronk, and George Kittle to really pick up the slack if he's going to advance to the championship.

We've weeded out 8 teams so far and now we're left with the four best teams standing. Like I said in my last post, I truly believe these are the best 4 teams left which is rare to get considering how unpredictable this game is. Speaking of unpredictability, these playoffs have been a NIGHTMARE with the number of key injuries to superstar players. Kareem Hunt, Melvin Gordon, A.J. Green, Spencer Ware, Carson Wentz are just a few guys whose injuries are mucking things up for us. So without further ado...here's who I think is advancing to the 2018 Wane McGarity Bowl.

Rigmas Forever (8-5) vs
Scott's Tots (8-6)

Yahoo Says: Kenny wins
I Say: Kenny Wins. Oh boy....for me personally, Kenny is my BIGGEST rival. He's my best friend and we go all the way back to middle school. As far as fantasy goes, we've done sooooo many leagues together starting all the way back to the Good Ol' Sandbox days. Surprisingly, in all of the years we've played in this league, we rarely cross paths besides the mandatory regular season matchups. The only time we have in the playoffs? 2013..when I beat Kenny to win my one and only Wane McGarity Bowl. So to say this matchup means a lot to me and him is the biggest understatement. There's no one I'd rather beat to get to the top, and unfortunately I'd rather lose to anyone else than Kenny. There are a LOT of moving parts yet to be determined for both our lineups. So many unknowns, our lineups could change multiple times throughout the week. One thing that is for sure though is the ultimate reason for picking Kenny to beat me...he's just simply got the better overall team. It's way more balanced than mine. I have a nagging Cam injury, uncertainty at tight end, a hobbled T.Y. Hilton, a struggling Saints combo, a questionable flex, it's just a lot of wild cards and it would be nearly impossible for me to hit on every decision I have to make. I feel like Kenny has the more stable team and he's been on a tear the last few weeks. I would 100% love to be wrong, but just being real here. This is Kenny's to take. Hope my team proves me wrong...we'll see.

No Soup For You (8-5) vs
Light's Broken Bots (8-6)

Yahoo Says: Leland Wins
I Say: Matt wins. Oh boy..talk about a matchup that has had so many twists and turns. First of all remember just a mere couple of weeks ago it was Matt that broke Leland's 7 game winning streak by barely a point or two after that unbelievable Rams vs Chiefs shootout. At first, I thought Leland was a shoo in for the Finals..then he turned around and lost both Kareem Hunt and Emmanuel Sanders...then I thought Matt was the no doubt winner after he blitzed Mark in Round 1..but now Matt will be without the services of Spencer Ware and Kerryon Johnson yet again and once again Matt's RB Depth is thin...so it seems like advantage Leland again right? Until you realize that Matt's running back depth has been thin ALL SEASON basically and he's still been able to overcome it because of the enormous depth at the rest of his positions, starting with Patrick Mahomes. When you have Mahomes, Juju, Thielen, Gronk, and Kittle you can more than afford to have mediocre RB plays. Yahoo has Leland as a small favorite but I think Matt takes it and advances to his 2nd Wane McGarity Bowl.

There's no way around it, as awesome and unpredictable the regular season ended for us..the 1st round of the playoffs was a boring ass dud. Beyond predictable with no suspense. Honestly, the right four teams are in the playoffs. Selfishly I wish that wasn't the truth as I reallllly wanted Mark and Eugene to be in my bracket, but it didn't happen so we have our final four. Here are they yawn inducing results of Round 1. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Scott's Tots (8-6) 108.54

Rocket Man (6-8) 69.14

Good lord, this was not even exaggerating, over by the first wave of games. Seriously...Kenny's 4 1:00 PM plays outscored Eugene's entire team. Gross. Kenny's team wasn't even THAT good, at least to his standards, yet because Eugene's team was so terrible it didn't matter and it was easy nearly 40 point blowout. It's not Eugene fault, he lost A.J. Green and Melvin Gordon at the absolute wrong time, but man, this was just a glorified bye for Kenny. Unfortunately Eugene ends the season on a 5 game slide. For Kenny, he plays me next....yay.

Light's Broken Bots (8-6) 144.68

Shock The Monkey (7-7) 82.98

Another laughable matchup that was never in doubt. Matt wins by over 60 in this snoozefest. I guess Mark put up a better fight..if you count scoring in the low 80's a fight. George Kittle absolutely went BONKERS which afforded Matt to have a pretty average Patrick Mahomes game. This is exactly why I wanted Mark and Eugene in my bracket. I basically could've coasted to the finals while also getting Kenny eliminated (he would've lost to Matt had Mark won the final week of the season) Damn you Alshon Jeffrey for not being able to outscore Josh Doctson in Week 13. Matt gets Leland's team, which I would've said was the favorite about 3 weeks ago, but with him losing both Kareem Hunt and Emmanuel Sanders for the season, I think Matt actually has the upper advantage now. For Mark, what a rollercoaster, I went from never buying his team, to buying in, to can't believing I second guessed my original stance. Anyways, at the very least, Mark's loss means we're guaranteed a new champion this year, as Albert still get to keep his claim to fame as the only repeat champion in our league's history.

We've already eliminated 6 teams from playoff contention and now it's playoff time. Simple rules apply, win and advance, lose and your season is over. This should be short and sweet as I only have to predict two 1st round matchups. Me and Leland await the winners. Here we go

Scott's Tots (7-6) vs
Rocket Man (6-7)

Yahoo Says: Kenny wins
I Say: Kenny wins. They split the season series, but Eugene's win came in week 2 of the regular season. His team has torpedoed since then. He's on a 4 game losing streak and came unbelievably close missing the playoffs altogether thanks to a 56 point performance in Week 13. No Melvin Gordon, no A.J. Green, no real dependable QB, and now..he faces Kenny's team, which honestly, after accounting for all the recent injuries, is the best team in the playoffs in my opinion. There's no way Kenny loses this matchup. Eugene is way overmatched and this should end up being a big time blowout. I get the winner of this matchup next.

Light's Broken Bots (7-6) vs
Shock The Monkey (7-6)

Yahoo Says: Matt wins
I Say: Matt wins. Mark won by under 10 points in their first and only meeting. This matchup has a little bit more intrigue than Kenny/Eugene. If Mark's team had done their damn job, he would've had an easier opponent and played Eugene, but they didn't and here we are. Matt's got Kerryon Johnson in his lineup and I'm thinking he'll end being inactive, while Spencer Ware has a difficult matchup. I still think Matt takes it, but Mark does have a chance to pull of an upset and a couple of Matt's guys underperform.

Well, it wouldn't be a Week 13 without twists and turns with playoff hopes and seeding on the line. Not one team had clinched a playoff spot much less a bye, so there was a TON up for grabs. After a highly competitive intense week, we now officially have our playoffs set. Congrats to Leland, myself, Kenny, Matt, Mark, and Eugene for advancing to the postseason. I'll get into the seeds in the notes for the week. So here's how it allllll went down in the final week of the regular season.

Week 13 Notes: Ok, so let's start from the top seed to the 6th seed in the recap. Leland making the playoffs was a mere formality as he was in regardless if winning or losing, but after a two game skid, he had to feel good about his team bouncing back and taking the Blowout Of The Week Honors. Leland finishes as not only the #1 seed and bye but most points in the league, so he gets both year end bonuses. The only scary thing is the loss of Kareem Hunt. Leland's a deep team, but that's a pretty huge loss and now that we're left with the best of the best, it definitely makes Leland a little more vulnerable than he was. For Dad..it was never about the win here, but MAN did he have a golden opportunity to sneak in the playoffs. Eugene's DISASTER end opened up the possibility but Dad fell short and he fell short for one reason..he played Jared Goff over Russell Wilson. If Dad plays Wilson..he's the #6th seed believe it or not. Unbelievable. Now of course that's a coin flip decision but it just shows you just HOW crucial lineup decisions are. All in All I felt like that Dad had a better season than his record indicates. At least he can look forward to having a generational back like Saquon Barkley on his squad for the forseeable future. Leland on the other hand can chill for a week as he gets that well deserved bye. And the other team getting the bye...ME....yup...all the complaining I do about my luck, fortunes have finally turned around the last two weeks as despite back to back week of Kamara and Michael Thomas just flat out KILLING me, I manage to survive. The rest of my squad is really carrying the load thankfully. I still had crap games from Cam, Sony Michel and the TE position, but Keenan Allen and Tarik Cohen absolutely CARRIED me to a bye thanks to their outstanding performances. Remember, I traded Emmanuel Sanders and Jordan Howard for them and that trade has paid off BIG dividends. I still would LOVE to see my team as a whole get it together, because I'm going to need it. My bracket is going to be rough for reasons I'll get into in a bit. For now though, I'll enjoy the week off of stress free football. Kenny finished the season as strong as a team could after being left for dead record wise. I was never worried that Kenny would miss the playoffs because of his points and finally the wins caught up to the points and not only did he make it but he finishes 3rd. He easily defeated Matt's championship caliber team and honestly, this is the team to beat in my opinion. It's the most well rounded deepest team in the playoffs. There's a solid chance Kenny makes the finals for a 2nd straight time. For Matt, it seems like the 1st time Mahomes wasn't able to lead him to victory after a 37 pt explosion. Matt's lack of a running game showed here and Kerryon Johnson's injury really hurt him these past two losses. Thielen and Juju also had rare off games and Matt drops to 4th in the standings. He's still a dangerous team and this was just one of the weeks that I don't expect to repeat. Mark vs Drew was SUPER critical to playoff positioning. At the end of the day, we knew who was in, just didn't know where seeds #3-#5 would fall. A Mark win not only would put at #3 but would force Kenny and Matt to play each other in the 1st round. Mark losing would force him to play Matt as the #5th seed. Both guys had shitty QB Plays in Brees and Matt Ryan and both have excellent games from two of their studs (Gurley and Kelce) but Tyreek Hill killed Mark's chances and on the very last game of week it was basically tied with Drew having Josh Doctson vs Mark having Alshon Jeffrey. Doctson outscored Jeffrey by 2.34 points giving Drew "fake" 6th place and dropping Mark to the 5th seed. Now Kenny's in MY bracket which sucks beyond belief and puts a damper in my celebration of the bye. Eugene kept the 6th seed but he SERIOUSLY did everything in his power to LOSE it. He not only lost again, he only put up 56 points, thus opening up the opportunity to both Dad and Mike. I talked about my Dad coming up short, but Mike's situation was even worse. With Philip Rivers left to go, Mike cutting the lead to the 6th seed to less than a point going into the Chargers final drive. The Chargers missed a field goal than had a field goal blocked before the Steelers were called offsides both times. Then the Chargers hit the winning field goal. Had they missed it would've forced OT and you'd think Rivers would easily get the point he needed for Mike to make the playoffs. A gut wrenching loss that could only be compared to Alex getting nudged out of the playoffs by .6 tenths of a point in 2015 and Kenny getting "Schaubed" out in 2010. So Eugene survives but I mean his team is DOA with so many key injuries and he has to face Kenny right off the bat. Really can't see that ending well. And the only matchup that was pretty irrelevant was Ryan/Alex. Ryan won to at least get to 5 wins and Alex's team just caught up with him. He did great with what barriers he had to face and here's hoping next year treats him a lot better than this season. 6 Teams remain now and it's off to the playoffs!

Well, I was gonna start this post bitching and moaning about Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara sucking for a 2nd straight week but that will have to wait for just a bit as news came out tonight that Kareem Hunt was released by the Chiefs after a video leaked showing Hunt in a physical altercation with a young girl back in February. This is HUGE news as Hunt is one the premier backs in the league and it has a huge fantasy implications. Hunt is on Leland's team and this will be a giant blow to his squad, though to be honest Leland's team is pretty deep at RB and I honestly think he can survive the hit, though it still sucks. The big benefactor is Mark, who has Spencer Ware on his roster and now has himself a RB2 at the very least. This gives Mark a huge boost right before the playoff start. Ok back to the bitching and moaning..so yep another Thursday night Saints game and another Thursday Night Disappointment as once again Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas way underperformed on their projections. This sucks on so many levels, as it's probably now going to cost me a bye for sure (I seriously don't think I can survive this two weeks in a row) and if my points are low enough, will bounce me out of the playoffs altogether. My guys have way worse matchups than they did last week and I can totally see my team scoring in the low to mid 80s or worse because of that and the underachievements of my two top guns. Basically, if you played a Saint you got fucked. So Drew's spoiler chances against Mark dropped significantly after Brees' Dud. Kenny should be fine overall, but his chances of beating Matt took a minor hit with Ingram's terrible game, Ben Watson and Trequan Smith got 0's for Eugene and Mike respectively and Alex inexplicably played Brandon Marshall who I don't even know if he's active left and took a 0 there, which basically seals the deal on his season. There were only two Cowboys worth playing and Zeke was his usual great self, which means Leland is one step closer to sealing up that bye, while Amari Cooper had a decent yardage game for Dad but did lose a costly fumble. With Dad needing all the points he can get, getting under double digits from Cooper was not the best of starts to his week.

It flew by as usual and after 12 weeks of awesome wins, agonizing losses, injuries, breakout performances, we STILL don't have a clue how the playoff seeding is going to shake out. Sure there are a couple of teams who are in despite not being officially in but even with them, who knows where they finish. This is going to be the craziest Week 13 we've ever had. Should be interesting. Here's the final week of Matchups and Predictions

Rigmas Forever (7-5) vs
Channel 4 News Team (6-6)

Yahoo Says: I win
I Say: Albert wins. It might be too little too late for Albert, but he's done a damn fine job at wrecking his opponents playoff chances. He basically killed off Alex's playoff chances two weeks ago and he denied Leland from not only officially clinching the playoffs, but a bye as well. Albert's team is unpredictable and there's no telling which team will show up. First of all, once again I'm a huge favorite, which never bodes well (I only won by a mere 8 points last week and underachieved) He blew me out in Week 2, and since I'm the one with the most to gain from winning, I just don't think the Fantasy Gods will be on my side this week. I feel like I used my luck up last week. A win would keep alive for a bye so it'd be nice, but I'd have to do something my team hasn't done all year, win a 3rd game in a row. I hope I'm wrong again, but I just don't see it happening.

Shock The Monkey (7-5) vs
I Am Queens Blvd (6-6)

Yahoo Says: Mark Wins
I Say: Mark wins. This is the most critical matchup of the week as if Mark loses, it opens up the 6th seed to my Dad and Mike because of Mark's points. Mark is a favorite by less than half a point, but I do think he gets the win here. He gets back Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill and just feel like he's got a more stable team than Drew. Drew's got Brees and his RB's of course, but those WR are just dart throws and who knows how good they'll be. A win for Mark could get him a bye depending on the fates of me, Matt, and Leland.

Light's Broken Bots (7-5) vs
Scott's Tots (6-6)

Yahoo Says: Kenny Wins
I say: Kenny wins. This is the definition of a heavyweight fight as Matt gets Mahomes back and both teams have tons of firepower. Another critical matchup that will determine playoff seeding and possibly byes. Because Kenny's the 2nd leading scorer in the league, and it's not even close, Kenny's going to be making the playoffs. But he can finish anywhere from #2-#6 which is crazy. The Bye is tricky for Matt too, because even if Matt wins, he'll have to hope I lose or if I win, he'll have to outscore me. I'm only a little over a point and a half over him. If Kerryon Johnson misses another game, that'll be huge blow to Matt's chances and since Kenny's team seems more deep, I'll take Kenny here.

SCLSU MudDogs (6-6) vs
Hoosier Daddy (4-8)

Yahoo Says: Ryan Wins
I Say: Ryan wins. Ryan, like Albert has done an excellent job playing the spoiler role after upsetting Mark last week. Believe it or not, as slim as it is, I think there's still a chance for Alex to make the playoffs. He'd need to win and the rest of the 6-6 teams have to lose. That's A LOT to ask for, but hey..a chance it's a chance. I just don't see Alex winning unfortunately.

No Soup For You (7-5) vs
Underdawg (5-7)

Yahoo Says: Leland wins
I Say: Leland wins. Leland went from a shoo in bye to needing to win this week to secure one. The silver lining is, Leland is 100% in, the worst he can finish is 4th seed, but it would be nice to avoid that extra week of work. Leland's two losses have been fluky to me, he lost a shootout where he put up 127 points, before that he lost to Matt by a mere 1 and a half points thanks to Mahomes going bonkers in that Rams/Chiefs Monday Night Shootout. I think he wins here. For Dad, win or loss doesn't matter, it's allllllllllll about points. He just needs a shootout to keep up points and hope that Mark loses and Mike scores low. If that happens, Dad can get in.

Rocket Man (6-6) vs
Trump 2020 (5-7)

Yahoo Says: Mike Wins
I say: Mike wins. Wow..what a difference 3 weeks makes. Eugene looked like a near lock for the #2 bye, now he's fighting for his playoff life. He's been on a 3 game losing streak, he lost Melvin Gordon, and even if A.J. Green does come back, who knows how effective he'll be his first week back and who knows how he'll perform with Jeff Driskel at QB. That's a lot of unknowns for me to be confident in Eugene's team. For Mike, just like Dad, it's not about wins and losses, it's about points. The more points Mike puts up, the better his gives himself for a chance to make the playoffs.

I've said it in the past before, but it rings more true than ever this year. This is the craziest, tightest playoff race in the history of the league. After 12 weeks, with 1 Week left in the season, not one team has clinched a playoff berth. That's beyond insane. Usually by now, there's at least one standout team record wise who's distanced themselves from the pack, but this year? Not one team has more than 7 wins. While 9 teams have at least 6 wins. The unpredictability is unprecedented and outside of Leland (he hasn't officially clinched but at worst, he's in by points) I don't know who's making it and what seed they'll land. Here's a recap of yet another crazy week in the Wane McGarity Bowl.

Week 12 Notes: When I wrote the Thursday Night Overview, I wrote it just after that disappointing Falcons/Saints game and my emotions were fresh. If you were to tell me that Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara would combine for 15 pts and Juju Smith-Schuster would score 31 and Thielen 22.5 and I'd WIN...I'd laugh in your face all day but yes for once..believe it or not luck was on my side. The rest of my team actually came through and did the heavy lifting with a pretty balanced attack. Such a crucial win, and officially as of now, I'm the 2nd seed with a bye (by a mere 1.5 pts over Matt). For Matt, it was opportunity to clinch a playoff spot but his team just came up short. Adam Theilin did his best and almost brought Matt all the way back. I honestly think if Mahomes wasn't on bye and Kerryon Johnson play, I lose so it was just the luck of the matchup for me. So now with playoff positioning on the line I take on Albert while Matt faces Kenny's red hot team. At least he'll have Mahomes back for that. So speaking of Kenny, his team has climbed all the way back to .500 and is firing on all cylinders. He easily dispatches of Eugene and outside of Leland, he's the next nearest lock for a playoff spot. Even if he loses, his points are so much higher than anyone else outside of Leland that he should make it. Kenny has a legit chance though of a actually finishing with a bye though he does need a lot of help on the front. For Eugene, it's been a disaster last 3 weeks. Not only has he lost A.J. Green for a few weeks now, but Marvin Jones was placed on IR and now Melvin Gordon is hurt and expected to miss multiple weeks. Marlon Mack is also in concussion protocol. Eugene has slid all the way to 6th and he might have another low scoring affair with so many key guys out. He'll take on Mike next, while Kenny takes on Matt. Talk about living up to his name, it looked like Dad's season was over a couple of weeks ago, but two straight high scoring weeks and wins and Dad is right back in the thick of things points wise. He still has a shot and it's not a 1 in a million shot. It's a decent shot. He completely obliterated Alex this week. He has a tough matchup with Leland, but honestly wins and losses don't matter to Dad, he just needs to put high points. For Alex, his team finally caught up with him. Hey, it's not his fault that injuries and Le'Veon Bell's holdout were a setback to his squad. Kudos to him for even getting to 6 wins, but this team just isn't that good as shown by the low over scoring of his team. I don't think there's a way Alex makes it regardless of winning or losing, but hey getting to above .500 would be a nice goal to achieve and he takes on Ryan next week. So Ryan played the role of spoiler perfectly this week easily defeating Mark in what was a terrible loss for him and could potentially end up leading to Mark being on the outside looking in. I've stated that Ryan's team is better than his record suggests and it definitely proved it this week. It's a shame Leonard Fournette was just never fully healthy because when he is, he's one the top fantasy backs in the league. Ryan might have to evaluate weather or not he wants to keep him next year. Those Chiefs byes killed Mark and he lost a LOT of ground points wise as he didn't even put up 80 points this week. Mark HAS TO win next week. The crazy thing is that everything is in play for Mark, a bye all the way to being eliminated. He takes on Drew next, who's not a slouch, while Ryan can once again play spoiler against Alex. Another team relishing in the spoiler role is Albert. Albert's team is so damn unpredictable and inconsistent, it's maddening. Last week Albert BARELY beat Alex, yet this week, he went toe to toe with Leland and outscored him in a shootout. Crazy stuff. His team has done this all year. Unfortunately in the grand scheme of things it doesn't mean much, but blocking a team from clinching a playoff spot has to feel good and he can do that to me next week (he's already beaten me in Week 2). For Leland..wow...am I jinx or what?! After I said "I don't think Leland is going to lose again" he promptly drops two straight. The frustrating thing is both losses have been under 10 pts (combined about 8 pts) and this week it's not like his team played awful, they scored 127, he just ran into Albert on a hot week. The silver lining is his playoff spot is not in doubt, he'll make it, but the bye isn't a lock and he takes on Dad next in a matchup that might be harder than it looks. And finally after a statement win last week, Mike fell to Drew this week in the week's closest game. Although it's not a great to lose, Mike still has a slim chance at that 6th seed via points if things go his way. Drew can still get to 7 wins and still has an outside shot as well, but at the very least he can mess Mark up by beating him next week.

Well...the rest of this week is just completely fucked for me as I'm now dreading Sunday and the inevitable loss I'm going to receive because..you guessed it....MY TEAM ONCE AGAIN COMES UP SMALL AS FUCK WHEN IT MATTERS. So FUCKING PREDICTABLE. In the most EASY MATCHUP POSSIBLE. Kamara and Michael Thomas underscore their projections by 25 points (through no fault of their own) and I'm just...done. Done because now my points will SUCK...and done because Matt still all his big guns to go while I completely wasted mine. I tell you...it's why I NEVER have ANY confidence. Laughably Yahoo has me as the favorite still, but Yahoo is a giant JOKE so there's no WAY IN HELL I fucking win. I'll end up getting blown out and have to pray Mike doesn't cut into my points lead. Unbelievable and as a sick joke, my first play of the week, Tarik Cohen, actually did GOOD and overscored on his projection. What a mean fucking trick. Beyond fucking irate. For Matt, he used up his flex play on Ito Smith, who sucked, but who CARES. It's not a big deal. His worst player played bad. My TWO BEST PLAYERS did nothing. HUGE DIFFERENCE. Fun fact..when Kamara and Michael Thomas bust together, I've never won. Also, still haven't had a 2 game winning streak since Weeks 3-4. From leading the league in scored points this week, to this. Just whatever the fuck ever. Drew and Mike both had the balls to start two of the random Saints receivers who scored TD's against each other (Kirkwood for Drew and Austin Carr for Mike) and that matchup is going to be as close as close can be. Drew's throwing darts at his WR's (he played Bruce Ellington as well) and yet still has a chance to pull of the win. Mike got a great game from Julio Jones and like I said Austin Carr scored, but Austin Hooper was disappointing. I don't really have a feeling either way, I just need Mike to NOT score 24 more points than me. Zeke has been amazing since Leland traded for him and I have no doubt it'll be smooth sailing for him against Albert this week, as he's already taken a 22.8 point lead. Things were looking kinda bleak for Eugene, but Calvin Ridley saved the day with a TD and because Mark Ingram underperformed for Kenny, Eugene's in the driver's seat in their matchup. Dad played his spoiler role to perfection as Amari Cooper WENT OFF with 34 points while Theo Riddick added 9.5 points. I don't see how Alex is going to survive that, but who knows. Allen Robinson was disappointing for Ryan and thanks to some Matt Ryan Garbage, and decent Kenny Golladay game, Mark's still got a solid chance to beat Ryan.

I dunno, there's just something about meaningful football games and holidays that just feels right. Most years, I've at least been in contention, and this year is no different. Every week we get closer to the end of the regular season, the magnitude of the matchups increases ten fold. This year it feels like it increases 100 fold, because not one playoff spot has been clinched yet officially. A win here is CRUCIAL and there's a ton of pressure to make the right lineup decisions. This is going to be one of the most intense weeks we've seen in a long time. Here are this weeks Matchups and Predictions

Light's Broken Bots (7-4) vs
Rigmas Forever (6-5)

Yahoo Says: I win
I Say: Matt wins. Just because Yahoo was right last week, doesn't mean I have any confidence they'll be right again. Matt picked up a SUPER huge victory against Leland last week and is now in the driver's seat as far as the playoffs go. He basically just needs to win 1 of his last two and he should be good to go. I have seen zero consistency when it comes to my team. I haven't won back to back weeks since weeks 3/4 and then after dropping 2 straight, it's been nothing but alternating wins and losses each week and guess what...this week's turn is a loss. I know Matt's going to be without Mahomes and Kerryon Johnson, but let's not act like Tom Brady is Alex Smith or anything, despite his struggles. Also Juju/Gordon/Theilen/Gronk/Kittle all have dangerous high scoring upside. I also HATE the fact that I have 3 Thanksgiving plays, meaning this matchup has a chance to be over before the week even officially begins. I hate having to use Tarik Cohen because he's been just so bla the past couple of weeks. Until my team proves it can been consistent more than one week, I think Matt takes this and then I gotta hope for some help next week to keep my playoff hopes alive.

Trump 2020 (5-6) vs
I Am Queens Blvd (5-6)

Yahoo Says: Mike Wins
I Say: Drew wins. The winner keeps their faint playoff hopes alive, while the loser is basically done for the year. Mike and Drew swapped places after last week as Drew went from the Resurrected Hopeful to clinging on to a tiny chance at a playoff spot, while Mike's team was left for dead only to put up major points and score an upset against Mark and revive his playoff chances a bit. The loser here is probably done, unless high points are scored. Mike might be without Week 11 breakout star Tre'Quan Smith, while although Drew has no Todd Gurley, he still has Aaron Jones and Dalvin Cook. I give Drew the slight edge here.

Rocket Man (6-5) vs
Scott's Tots (5-6)

Yahoo Says: Kenny wins
I Say: Kenny wins. This is a HUGE matchup and this game is equally important for both teams. Kenny is 2nd in the league in points so beating Eugene would probably not only secure that points lead in case he needs it for the 6th seed, but Kenny would officially be in the playoffs record wise as well. For Eugene, a two game losing streak could not have come at a worse time. With A.J. Green's status up in the air (and also just how effective will he be if he does play) plus it looks like Eugene is going to have to rely on ol' wormhead Eli Manning, I think Kenny takes this week. For Eugene, he at the very least needs to put up some major points, because me and Matt are both close in points and there's a chance Eugene will be on the outside looking in if he can't put up points this week.

No Soup For You (7-4) vs
Channel 4 News Team (5-6)

Yahoo Says: Leland wins
I Say: Leland wins. Shockingly, Leland's 7 game win streak came to an end via a 1.5 point loss to Matt last week. We're still delaying the inevitable. Leland WILL get in. 7 wins and a HUGE points cushion makes it just a mere formality, but for his sake, it'd be nice to make it official this week. Even in victory Albert's team played terrible and overall Albert's 2nd to last in overall points. Leland "should" win this (I jinxed him last week, so maybe it happens again).

SLCSU MudDogs (6-5) vs
Underdawg (4-7)

Yahoo Says: Dad wins
I Say: Dad wins. Holy crap does this look bad. I had to look twice to see if Alex had empty roster spots, but nope, the team he's trucking out there, in a must win, survival game, is projected to score 77 points. Dad's a 35 point favorite, but we allllllllllllllll know how Alex's voodoo magic works. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Alex won a 72-65 slugfest but Dad SHOULD win if everything is right with this world. A loss here for Alex would really crush his playoff hopes. He needs wins to get in, more importantly 2 wins. Dad might not be playing for anything, but playing spoiler isn't a bad consolation prize.

Shock The Monkey (7-4) vs
Hoosier Daddy (3-8)

Yahoo Says: Ryan Wins
I Say: Mark wins. Just like Leland, Mark blew a golden opportunity to actually take over the #1 seed. He got upset by Mike despite a brilliant comeback but this week, despite playing the team with the worst record in the league, he'll be without all his Chiefs players. That's right no Tyreek Hill and no Travis Kelce. This gives Ryan the opening he needs to play spoiler. Even though Ryan's the favorite, I think somehow Mark finds a way to win. If he doesn't though..man does it complicate an already complicated playoff race.

I can't even put to words what happened in last night's Chiefs vs Rams game. It kinda sucks to not be able to FULLY enjoy it just because of the fantasy implications but it was still an entertaining game to watch. Not only critical for the real teams involved, but super critical for the league as we're down to the last couple of weeks of the regular season. This is shaping up to be one the tightest race we've had in a good long while as technically not one person has clinched a playoff spot after Week 11. In fact, in my opinion seeds #2-#6 are all wide open and so many things could happen that trying to predict who's going to be in could lead to insanity, Here's what happen on what was a crazy, unpredictable Week 11

Week 11 Notes: Man...so this is what is soooooo maddening about team. No consistency whatsoever. Yes I won...Yes I scored the most points in the league for the 2nd time out of 3 weeks (with a loss sandwiched in between) but my team can never do it for more than a week at a time. They are obviously CAPABLE of it...they just don't. Regardless, this was a huge critical win aided by Eugene missing two of his top receivers (A.J. Green and Marvin Jones) and my team as a whole for the most part going off with T.Y. Hilton showing why you keep playing him despite weeks of unremarkable games. It's funny that I have no trust in my team whatsoever and never feel like I should be favored but if looked at this roster and it WASN'T mine..I'd be scared to face it. I'm sure people in the league would love me to not make the playoffs and I don't blame them one bit. I do have a good team..when they get it together it's damn near unbeatable. It wasn't just the win that has me happy, it's the points. A big week like that puts in the thick of the points race as well..as a fallback in case I drop a game or even lose out. I just gotta keep up points, as I'm only 11 pts from the 2nd most points in the league. To say next week's matchup vs Matt is huge is a GIGANTIC UNDERSTATEMENT. It's more than huge...it's basically a playoff game within the regular season. A win against Matt, increases my chances to make the playoffs that much more, while a win for Matt basically cements his playoff spot officially. For Eugene, it's been a rough couple of weeks. Points are keeping him a 4th seed, but he too has a critical matchup against Kenny which at the end of the day could drop Eugene to the brink of elimination. The good news is, he should at the very least be getting A.J. Green back, he's going to need as many fully healthy bodies as possible to take Kenny's deep team. So let's go to the thrilling upset Matt pulled which culminated last night when once again Patrick Mahomes managed to bail Matt out and give Matt a HUGE win against Leland's team who was on a 7 game winning streak. This matchup was literally decided at the very end and despite a final Mahomes pick, Matt won by a little over a point. Mahomes has been the catalyst of Matt's success..and in a matchup where Matt's playoff hopes are still up in the air he once again came up huge. Matt did suffer a bit of bad news as Kerryon Johnson suffered an injury that will at least keep him for next week. That, combined with Patrick Mahomes on bye (thank the lord) is a little worrisome for Matt, but he still has a pretty strong group of guys and I think they still can overcome that against me. For Leland, disappointing, but not really that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. It delays the inevitable playoff clinch by 1 week, but he still has a large points lead with 2 weeks left in the season. He also gets Albert's team left and that should be the week he finally clinches. Kenny vs Drew was a big disappointment as after hyping Drew's team last week, his team came crashing down in a brutal loss. Aaron Jones started the week awesome, and Drew Brees did his part, but that was literally it. This is how stupid fantasy football is. In a game where there was 105 points scored, not only did Todd Gurley NOT score a TD, he literally has his worst game of the season by FAR. Unbelievable...how that happens WHO knows, but he saved his worst for the WORST time and Dalvin Cook got shut down as well. The loss is bad, but the low scoring is even WORSE..basically a death knell for Drew's playoff chances now. Kenny's team keeps cruising by winning and scoring high points, and he's now 2nd in points scored and has a ton of momentum. Points might not end mattering if Kenny ends up running the table though the schedule remains tough, with 2 playoff caliber teams left. Kenny gets Eugene next week in yet another HUGE matchup for the week, while Drew tries to keep his season on life support against another team fighting for their playoff life, Mike. Mike came THISCLOSE to blowing a huge lead against Mark last night, as Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce did their best to bring Mark back, but fell just a bit short. Mark only lost by 2.3 points and it's a HUGE loss playoff wise as he could've clinched a playoff spot this week. Instead, he's with the rest of us..still fighting and there's a chance he might miss the playoffs completely. On paper, he's facing the worst team next week in Ryan, but Ryan's team is not THAT bad and the fact that Mark has 3 Chiefs on bye is worrisome as well. It wont be a walk in the park win, and if he loses, there should be major worry having to rely in beating Drew in Week 13. For Mike, his team was left for dead but they responded in a MAJOR way. His points puts him back in the thick of things for the points race, and also keeps him alive record wise. Mike's got a deep solid team and he takes on Drew next. One of them will have their playoff hopes officially ended next week. Albert's disappointing season continues as he BARELY beats Alex and his super awful roster. There was a point on Sunday where I really thought Alex was going to do it yet again and win with like 65 fucking points. It's a win, but ugh. The points did Albert no favors but hey, if it keeps ya technically alive, it's better than being officially done. Stefon Diggs bailed Albert out. For Alex, there's nothing to say, this is what his team is. A low scoring group of Wild Card plays that somehow manages to survive because teams can't score on him. The only silver lining is his favorable schedule, but he now has to win out. Albert still has a sliver of hope, but he faces Leland next, who's coming off a bad loss. I fully expect Leland to bounce back. And finally in the irrelevant bowl, Dad got blowout of the week against Ryan. The only thing I'll say is, not keeping Devante Adams will be the biggest "what if" of the season for Dad. I really believe had he kept him over Devonta Freeman, Dad would be in the thick of the playoff race.

A Look At The Playoff RaceThis is one of my favorite posts to do as we're only 3 weeks away from the Fantasy Football Playoffs and technically nothing is concrete as far as playoffs go. In my opinion, there are still 10 teams that have some kind of shot to make it to the top 6. I've divided those teams in to tiers and here's how those 10 teams playoff outlook looks.

Basically In

Leland (No Soup For You)

Current Record: 7-3

Key Guys On Bye:
James White (Week 11) Nick Chubb (Week 11) Robert Woods (Week 12) Kareem
Hunt (Week 12)

Remaining Schedule

Matt

Albert

Dad

There’s no doubt Leland’s getting in. He leads the league in
points and tied for best record. He’s basically a lock for the playoffs and a
shoo in for a bye. The slight concern would be Leland has a number of prominent
players still having bye weeks, but Leland’s team is deep, he can seriously
cover them all. Conservatively, one win should lock a playoff spot and with
that schedule there’s no doubt he’ll get at least one.

Mark (Shock The Monkey)

Current Record: 7-3

Key Guys on Bye:
Tyreek Hill (Week 12) Travis Kelce (Week 12) Sammy Watkins (Week 12)

Remaining Schedule

Mike

Ryan

Drew

As the only other 7-3 team in the league, Mark’s on here by
default. He’s coming off a high scoring week, but his season points are not
great in the least for what his record is. He has a middle of the road schedule and already, this week is going to be a bigger fight than anticipated with Mike. Like
Leland, one win should be enough to get him though there could be problems if he does somehow drop this week to Mike. Ryan's team isn't nearly as bad as his record shows (plus Mark will be down his 3 Chiefs in week 12) and Drew's team is suddenly a powerhouse I wouldn't be 100% confident in playing against. Regardless, I’d be surprised if Mark doesn’t get it by
wins and take just one of those matchups, but in the event he drops 3 straight, it might be a little tough to get
in points wise, but even then his record might come in to play if that happens.

Almost But Quite Not There

Eugene (Rocket Man)

Current Record: 6-4

Key Guys On Bye: Matt Breida (Week 11)

Remaining Schedule

Me

Kenny

Mike

So losing this past week has kind of opened up the small
possibility that Eugene might be in trouble. Key word is “might” because I
still think he ends up ok. His schedule is kinda rough, and the lack of A.J.
Green doesn’t help (though it's looking like Green could be back as early as next week). It’s entirely possible Eugene drop all 3 weeks, but I
seriously doubt that happens. With his points in tow, I believe one win should
be enough to get the job done and make the playoffs. I just can’t see this team
losing out.

The Next Three in

Honestly, after those three “near locks” it becomes damn
near hard to speculate who can get in, especially with the new 6th
seed scoring rule in effect. Here’s my opinion on who’s going to get in and get
the final 3 spots.

Kenny (Scott’s Tots)

Current Record (4-6)

Key Guys On Bye: Julian Edelman (Week 11)

Remaining Schedule

Drew

Eugene

Matt

It’s crazy that I think the 6th seed is damn near
closer to being locked up than the 4th and 5th seeds. So
why do I give Kenny the edge over the rest of us? Out of the teams that I
believe will be competing for the 6th seed via points, he has a
comfortable nearly 30 point lead. With only 3 games left and the way his team
is playing, I just don’t see him losing the points lead. He even still has an
outside shot to just make the playoffs via record if he can win outright to get
to 7 wins, though admittedly that schedule is pretty tough and Aaron Jones has already put him in a big hole against Drew. He could actually
end up losing all 3 just as much as he can win them. Still having the points to
fall back is very crucial and could be his ticket into the playoffs.

Matt (Light’s Broken Bots)

Current Record (6-4)

Key Guys On Bye: Josh Gordon (Week 11) Rob Gronkowski (Week
11) Duke Johnson (Week 11) George Kittle (Week 11) Frank Gore (Week 11) Tom
Brady (Week 11) Patrick Mahomes (Week 12)

Remaining Schedule

Leland

Me

Kenny

Had Matt not lost to Alex this past week, I think he
would’ve been on the near lock stage, but there’s gotta be a little bit of
concern here as Matt does have a pretty tough schedule. Another thing hurting
Matt is so many late season bye weeks. A lot of his team is on bye against Leland
for Week 11, while in Week 12 he’ll have no Mahomes against me. I still give
Matt the edge here because he can actually afford to drop 2 and still have a
chance thanks to his points, but it wouldn’t be crazy at all if he dropped all
3 matchups and got stuck on 6 wins.

I still think Alex is one of the more vulnerable teams
because of his points, but since he still has at least a game over me and Drew
and his schedule isn’t that intimidating I put him as the final team in the
playoffs. As thin as his roster is, having any guys on bye is going to be a
hurdle, but he’s got the softest schedule of the teams vying for a playoff
spot which means he should be competitive enough at the very least (though this week already looks like a lost cause). The way the season has been going for him, I just can't count him out because every time I think he should lose, he wins. If he doesn’t pick up 2 or more wins though,
he’ll be on the bubble because of his low points.

I put Drew over me because I just don’t have confidence in
my team and though I still have a slight lead in points over Drew, his team is
trending upward with the emergence of Aaron Jones and reemergence of Dalvin
Cook. Drew’s biggest gun is out Week 12 in Todd Gurley which could be a mild
concern, but he’s facing Mike’s struggling team that week so he might be able
to overcome it. Kenny provides a
challenge, but Mike and Mark seem like winnable matchups for Drew. I’d say he
has a decent chance to maybe get in if he can win 2 out of 3 and get a couple
of high scoring weeks under his belt he’ll also need either Matt or Alex to
somehow drop out of the picture and lose.

After this past week’s shitty loss to Drew, I’ll never do
optimism again because there’s never a reason to when it comes to Fantasy
Football and my luck. I bet only 1% of total teams in Yahoo miss the playoffs
with a team consisting of Cam Newton, Michael Thomas, and Alvin Kamara, but
here I am, about to miss the playoffs. Irony, that the playoff structure fucked
me so many years (3 out of the 4 years I’ve missed the playoffs, I would’ve
gotten in by points, it’s a reason why I wanted the rule change) and now that
we finally change the rules, I’ll be the first one to get fucked because in the
old system, I’m actually still 6th place and wouldn’t be as
pessimistic about my playoff chances. Under the revised system, I’m “fake 6th”
and really 7th because Kenny leads in points by a wide margin. So
how do I get in? Easy..win out..you know, win 3 in a row, something I haven’t
done all season (longest winning streak is 2, and I only did that once). Not to
mention my schedule..the 3rd and 4th seeded guys in the
playoffs back to back, then play a team that sucks, but blew me out and had
their best game of the season against me in Week 2. Yeah..this isn’t happening.
I’ll probably get a bye…in THE LOSER BRACKET and do my best to win that. Losing
to Drew was a HUGE blow to my playoff chances. Because Yahoo is a sick and
twisted entity OF COURSE I’m favored to win all 3 matchups! You know just like
the other 8 times this year I have been favored (but wait..my record is 5-5 not
8-2?! HOW CAN THAT BE!?). Anyhow should shock of all shocks Yahoo somehow be wrong in their projections,
I can literally only afford to drop 1 game and then I’ll start needing help
(Keeping my points up, and needing Drew to drop 1 game, Alex to drop 2 games,
Matt to drop all 3 games etc). I wonder who’ll be available next year when I
draft #1 overall (who am I kidding, I’ll end up losing that too)

Basically only put Mike on here, because if he wins out he
can get to 7 wins, but depending on points that might not even matter. So Mike
had a tough start where his team played awesome but his team still lost, then
went on a 4 game winning streak and really looked like his team was going to
turn it around, before sputtering to a current 4 game losing streak. He’s
fallen behind in points, just lost Cooper Kupp to a torn ACL, and has a pretty
difficult schedule where he won’t be favored in any of the matchups (though he's starting this week off great after that Davante Adams play). It would
take a ton of work and help for Mike to make it, but as small of a chance there
is of that happening, it’s still a chance. Never say never.

So Albert, like Mike, can still get to 7 wins, which
technically keeps him alive, but he’s in way worse shape points wise than Mike
is. Albert’s team is so perplexing, it’s like a poor man’s version of mine,
where on paper, he has a crap load of talented guys, they’ve just been
disappointing. These past two weeks, injuries and byes have really hurt Albert.
His schedule looks Ok , except for Leland in the middle. Me and Alex are
definitely winnable matchups (he already beat me in Week 2 with basically the
same squad he has now and this week is looking like a shoo in win against Alex) but having to face Leland at his hottest probably will
squash any chance he had in the playoffs. Even if he somehow gets survives and
gets 7 wins, more than likely his ceiling is a fake 6th place
finish. Still as long as points are the ultimate variable and the 7 wins
threshold is still attainable, Albert’s still “in the running” but barely.

Dad and Ryan are the only two teams that are 100% out of it.
They can only get to 6 wins if they win out and they don’t have the points to
compete for the 6th seed.

Almost every year in fantasy football there's always an "X Factor". A guy who comes outta nowhere late in the season and takes the league my storm. In the fantasy football world he's deemed a "league winner". The biggest example of this was during Matt's remarkable title run back in 2014. Matt had a middle of the road team, not horrible, but not really a championship caliber squad, until one guy, who started the season hurt made a HUGE difference. That guy was Odell Beckham Jr. He literally changed the landscape of our league and helped Matt pull off the biggest upset in our league's history taking out Mayra's undefeated team. This year...it's looking like Aaron Jones is "that guy". After a 4 game suspension and then weeks of splitting carries with both Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams, the past 3 weeks it seems like Aaron Jones has finally taken the reins of Green Bay's starting running back and he's not letting go. Drew's team has struggled most of the season, thanks to Dalvin Cook's hamstring injury, but Todd Gurley had taken Drew's team on his back and the very least kept Drew in playoff contention. Aaron Jones though..looks like he can not only help Drew make the playoffs, but win it ALL. Drew's 3 headed monster of Gurley, Aaron Jones, and healthy Dalvin Cook could might end up being the best stable of running backs this league has. Jones did not disappoint as he had nearly 25 points and has given Drew the early upper hand against Kenny for the week in a must win game for him. The scary thing is...it SHOULD'VE been much more, but for some idiotic reason, the Packers abandoned the run in the 2nd half, limiting Jones touches. If Drew is able to make the playoffs...watch out. A matchup that just got a little bit more interesting is Mike/Mark. I kinda had written off Mike but after Davante Adams set a career high in yards with 166 yards on 10 catches, this is now looking like a legit coin flip of a matchup. That could have a HUGE trickle down effect as not only would keep Mike's small playoff hopes alive, but Mark wouldn't be such a shoo in for that 1st round bye after all. It could open up numerous possibilities. Also if Albert doesn't beat Alex this week I should just give Alex the 1st place money right now, because there's no logical way he can win this week. He's already burned 3 plays (Tyler Lockett, Mike Daivs, Jamaal Williams) and none of them did anything. They combined for a measly 16.2 points. He's on pace to score 73 points. All Albert's guys have to do is play mediocre and he should still blow Alex out. That's obviously huge as well as Alex losing will really hurt him because of points. I hope I'm wrong, but I think it's a bad omen that after proclaiming Leland would never lose again this season, he starts off the week with a dud play in Marquez Valdes-Scantling. MVS was held to 1 catch for 8 yards. Aaron Rodgers was good for Leland with nearly 24 points, but it's not enough to mask the disasterous MVS performance. Leland is still in the driver's season as far as projections go...but his win margin has shrunk a bit. And finally in the "Irrelevant Bowl" it seems like Dad has the upper hand after Doug Baldwin scored and basically had his best game of the season with 14.7 points. That combined with Ryan losing Jimmy Graham to injury has Dad in the driver's seat as he tries to stay away from being last place.

So just going to give a recap of Week of 10 before getting to the matchups and predictions. So yes, just as I predicted on the Thursday Night Overview, my team once again can't seem to get it together when facing a far less superior team and I suffered a huge blow to my playoff chances by losing to Drew. It's probably going to end up costing me a playoff spot. Despite a mean tease in the first half of games that had me at about a 40 point favorite, my guys did nothing in the 2nd half of the early games and Drew finished me off with Todd Gurley and Aaron Jones to win by 9 points. So fucking frustrating. It's why I hate this fucking game so much because nothing ever seems to go my way when I need it. My loss gives Drew 2nd life after his team was looking like it was a dire straits, but if Aaron Jones is going to be THIS good and if Dalvin Cook is actually BACK...holy crap is Drew's 3 headed RB monster scary with Gurley the leader of that group. Drew's going to be a scary team to deal with if he can end up making the playoffs. He's got a difficult matchup against Kenny coming up, while all I have to do is beat Eugene, who's coming off a rare loss. Ha..like that's happening..gimmie a break. It was crazy seeing the lowest scorers of the week for the longest time being Leland and Eugene, but then Leland ended up with a 30+ Zeke play and Eugene ALMOST ended up making a crazy comeback with a nearly 27 point Matt Breida play, but came up just a tad short. So Leland basically has his shittiest week in a good long while and STILL WINS. He's not losing again folks. This shit is wrapped up and the rest of the league is really just playing for 2nd place (wish I was part of THAT group). Leland takes on Matt next, while Eugene gets to bounce back against me, because I mean who doesn't bounce back against me? So tell me if you've heard this story before. I rip Alex's team as weak and say that his opponent "should" easily win only for the football gods to prove me wrong and Alex to somehow come up with yet another win. It's the 6th time we've heard this story, but THIS week was the most bizarre. Alex's team actually put up the 3rd most points of the weeks and get this, he could've been #1 but he for some inexplicable reason SAT LESEAN MCCOY. Are you serious..he GETS AWAY WITH IT?! That would NEVER work in my favor that's for sure. It's not even that Matt's team played bad, he actually outscored his initial projection, that's usually the recipe to beat Alex, but THIS WEEK..Alex actually scored POINTS. He still has no Le'Veon Bell.he still has the worst points in the league by far, he still has 6 WINS and is prime position to make the playoffs, while my loaded team STRUGGLES. Did I mention how much I hate this bogus luck filled piece of shit game? Well..I do. Alex takes on Albert next, and the way Albert's team has been playing, it's not a slam dunk Albert wins. I know I concentrated on how Alex's win affects me (because it's my blog dammitt) but let's not lose sight how much of a bad loss it was for Matt. Matt's schedule is rough and it's none of his matchups are locks. He also has tons of byes and faces Leland next. There are two teams that have gone into a downward spiral the last few weeks and one of them is Albert. Albert had a cush 2 week schedule to get him back on track and blew both of them losing to my Dad and Ryan on consecutive weeks. Another low scoring effort for Albert and Ryan basically had this wrapped Thursday Night after Big Ben and Connor's performances. After weeks of NEAR HEARTBREAKING losses, Ryan FINALLY gets one in the win column and it was a blowout. Ryan's team is NOT as bad as his record suggests and he's not going to be the "easy win" people are thinking if they still have him on their schedule. Ironically though, his matchup next week is totally irrelevant, he faces Dad and both are out of playoff contention. For Albert, he's got another winnable matchup against Alex and a loss here would basically put an end to his season. The other team on a downward spiral is Mike. I really thought Mike's team was going to be a major player in the playoffs but his team has been a disappointment and he's currently carrying a 4 game losing streak. It didn't help matters he was facing Kenny and there was just nothing he could do as Kenny's guys just went completely off, just like when Kenny went off against me. Huge win for Kenny, as he extends his points lead for the 6th seed while also still keeping open the possibility of his team just making the playoffs by record. I think Kenny's a lock to make the playoffs because he's not going to lose that points lead with 3 weeks left. Mike's not completely done, but he has a difficult matchup against Mark, and a loss there, pretty much seals his season, while Kenny has a difficult matchup himself against Drew. And finally, Dad's season basically came to an end this week as Mark's team just throttled him and Dad just stood no chance. It's a disappointing end to what I thought would be Dad's best chance at championship. It also really showed just how brutal it was for Dad to keep Devonta Freeman over Devante Adams. That would've made a HUGE difference. For Mark, a couple of weeks ago, it seemed like his team had finally caught up with him, but he has second life now with back to back wins and basically is a shoo in for the playoffs. I still don't fully buy his team, because like Alex, his team scores relatively low, but he'll get in by wins and he faces a Mike's reeling team next while Dad and Ryan basically play for pride next week. Onto the Week 11 Matchups and Predictions

Nothing pisses me off more than being right in such an unpredictable game like Fantasy Football. For reasons unexplained, my team ALWAYS craps the bed against teams that on paper, look way less talented then mine. It's why I can never trust my team. One week, I'm scoring 125+ and beating a solid team, the next I'm losing to a team by 20 that I should've beaten by 30 and my team doesn't even put up 70. It happens EVERY TIME I'm a big favorite. So naturally, I roll into this week a 27 point favorite against Drew and whaddya know..right off the bat we get a BIG major underperformance from one of my top guns, Cam Newton. It was a mean tease because Newton drove the ball and threw a TD pass in the first 4 minutes of the game, but then the Panthers went to complete garbage and got destroyed. Newton only threw one more TD pass and just like that that 27 point spread is down to 10 and it's just the beginning. I just have a gut feeling my team is going to crap the bed YET again against a team I should just easily beat and it's going to of course cost me in the most crucial time of the year. So fucking frustrating. I have 0 confidence I'm winning this week now. I already see T.Y. Hilton and Tarik Cohen scoring less than 5 pts a piece and guys on Drew's team like Dion Lewis, Christian Kirk, and Josh Doctson over achieving and right back to mediocrity at 5-5 while also opening up everyone's chances like Albert, Mike, Drew and Kenny. Unbelievable and one of the reason I hate this game so much. I really wish Yahoo would just get rid of projections. I really do. I'd be 96-3 if projections were ever right since the majority of the time I'M THE FAVORITE. Anyways, it was a beat down of epic proportions but Kenny still got a masterful performance from Christian McCaffrey who has just been unbelievable these past few weeks. I scored 3 more TD's and that combined with Antonio Brown's great game (90+ and a score) and Kenny's not only gonna distance himself more in the points race but a win would be huge standings wise and it's not inconceivable that he's out of the wins race to the playoff either. Other teams that started Panthers weren't so lucky. Newton was mediocre, for Ryan D.J. Moore was medicore, for Dad it was Greg Olsen, and Albert Devin Funchess. Ryan though had Big Ben (5 TD's) and James Connor (decent yardage game and a TD before he was sat for concussion protocol which is something to keep an eye on) against Albert which masked the D.J. Moore performance and Ryan might finally get a W to snap his 6 game losing streak, while Albert's team continues to plummet being hampered by injury and inconvenient bye weeks. Matt got nearly 18 points off the bat this week with Juju and in a week without Adam Thielen that's HUGE and I'm basically already calling this as Matt will get to win #7 which should basically punch of playoff ticket.

Not officially, but there's a couple of teams who if they get to 7 wins are a slam dunk to make the playoffs regardless if they win another regular season matchup. Also, losing in Week 10 for some teams will be a crushing blow to their playoff hopes so this week is definitely full of high stakes. Here's this weeks matchups.

Rigmas Forever (5-4) vs
I Am Queens Blvd (4-5)

Yahoo Says: I win
I Say: I win. I HATE picking myself because it rarely works out it seems like, ESPECIALLY being such a heavy favorite, it's just begging for a let down, but yes, on paper, I should win. Gurley and Brees are heavy hitters and are more than capable of carrying Drew's team to victory, but I should have more firepower to overcome that, especially with Drew being without John Brown and Dalvin Cook. This is a pretty huge matchup for both of us as a win for me gives me a little bit more breathing room in the playoff race, plus I have two straight difficult matchups coming up so getting this win would help soften the blow of a worse case scenario 2 game losing streak. For Drew, a win keeps his playoff hopes alive at least win-wise and possibly points wise if he scores enough points. A loss here, would make it a lot harder as it would basically mean Drew would have to run the table just for a CHANCE to make the playoffs.

Channel 4 News Team (4-5) vs
Hoosier Daddy (2-7)

Yahoo Says: Tie
I Say: Ryan wins. This is tough, Yahoo actually has them at a standstill, but more than likely with nothing to lose Ryan will end up trotting out Fournette which projection wise would give him the upper hand against Albert. Ryan's record is deceiving, he's pretty much been in EVERY loss this year only to lose on the final plays of the week. He's just out to play spoiler and he could definitely do some damage to Albert's playoff run. Since Albert's points are pretty low, 8 wins is probably the only way he gets in to the playoffs. That means he'd have to run the table. A loss here obviously stops the momentum before it even starts.

Light's Broken Bots (6-3) vs
SCLSU MudDogs (5-4)

Yahoo Says: Matt wins
I Say: Matt wins. Alex's team FINALLY took a loss as his team didn't even put up 80 points last week against Eugene. That was without Andrew Luck, but even with him back and with Adam Thielen on bye, I think Matt should still have enough to win what might be a 3rd straight close victory. A win here for Matt gets him to the coveted 7 wins and though I wouldn't call it a shoo in just yet, it basically means he'd only need to win 1 more game out of 3 weeks to make the playoffs. For Alex, it's a MUST WIN. The more wins, the better his chances are of making the playoffs because he WON'T get in via points. He's dead last there. In my opinion, he needs 8 wins to have a shot, so he can only afford one more loss before his playoff hopes are dashed.

No Soup For You (6-3) vs
Rocket Man (6-3)

Yahoo Says: Leland wins
I say: Leland wins. Who's going to stop Leland, who has absolutely destroyed everyone after starting 0-3. Although this definitely could be a preview of the Wane McGarity Bowl, Eugene will be without A.J. Green (injured) and Lamar Miller (Bye) and that's pretty crucial when taking on Leland at full strength. If Leland wins here, just 100% punch his ticket into the playoffs, he's in no doubt. He leads the league in points and there's no way he won't make if he doesn't get to 7 wins. For Eugene, I'd almost say the same thing, he's not as far ahead as Leland in points, but still has the 2nd most points in the league and there's no doubt he'll end up in the playoffs somehow, a win here would just fast track it. The only real negative thing here is a loss from either one, opens up the coveted #2 bye spot as Matt and Mark are both in the running for that.

Shock The Monkey (6-3) vs
Underdawg (3-6)

Yahoo Says: Mark wins
I Say: Mark wins. Man the unexpected Week 9 win did WONDERS for Mark's playoff chances. I really thought he was on a downward slid, but that win combined with having Dad as an opponent this week should provide Mark with an ultimate opportunity to climb the standings at least one spot since he'd be at 7 wins and the loser of Eugene/Leland stays at 6. My dad pulled the upset off last week against Albert, but can he do it again this week without DeAndre Hopkins? I'm going to go with Mark here as his quest to repeat as champion is alive and well.

Trump 2020 (4-5) vs
Scott's Tots (3-6)

Yahoo Says: Kenny wins
I Say: Kenny wins. Just like me, everytime I think Kenny's a shoo in to win, it goes the other way. This is a SUPER important matchup for both guys as a mere 4 pts separates them in the race for 6th place. A win definitely would create points separation either way. If Kenny does lose though, it basically means points are his absolutely only chance at making the playoffs as there's no way a 6 win team gets to the 5th seed. A loss puts a dent in Mike's chances too, just not as bad as Kenny's. This is a definitely a matchup to watch.

I seriously don't know of a more frustrating game to play than Fantasy Football. It tries to play like a game of skill, and to a small degree it is..I mean you have to know a LITTLE bit about the game at the very least, but for the most part, it's just pure dumb luck..good and bad. Year after year we go through the same spiel and yet..it never gets any less agonizing. I know my problem is, I take it personally, like I FAILED..even though I don't step on the field, I can't control anything..i just put a lineup of guys on different teams out there and hope they outscore someone else's random guys on different teams. What am rambling about? My biggest motto when it comes to matchups..."PROJECTIONS DON'T MEAN SHIT". Hell if they did, I'd probably be a 6 time champion because I'm pretty sure I'm favored in about 90% of my matchups the last few years. But projections just don't matter. It doesn't matter if you're a 20 point favorite or a 2 point favorite, projections are just that..projections. So this week, Kenny had what looked to be a slam dunk win against Mark's team who was just decimated with byes and a couple injuries. Kenny even made a trade with Mark and gave him a couple players to use in exchange for Golden Tate and his #3 Waiver (ended up being DeVante Parker) and even one of THOSE players (Keke Coutee) was ruled out for Mark. Mark had to resort to using Chris Ivory and Alfred Blue as his starting running backs. Yes...CHRIS IVORY AND ALFRED BLUE. Kenny, fresh off scoring nearly 150 points, was rightfully feeling confident about picking up a key win. And then Week 9 rolled around and the games were actually played and projections went out the window and because this is fantasy football, Mark ended up coming away with the unbelievable yet believable upset win. Upsets aren't exactly a rare occurrence in fantasy football, hell Alex built a 4 game winning streak off of them. It just goes to show you that there's no such thing as a "free win" and nothing is over until 0:00 in the 4th quarter (or overtime) of Monday Night Football. Here are the Week 9 results.

Week 9 Notes: So this is why I'm always real hesitant to overreact to one Thursday Night Play. The way my Sunday started seriously couldn't have started any worse. After Mike's 7.4 pt play at QB, I felt I'd have a huge QB advantage considering I had Cam Newton against the atrocious Bucs defense. Well...the day started out as frustrating as frustrating can be. First of all, I had a TD taken away from me as Kyle Rudolph had fallen on a Latavius Murray fumble and was credited the TD only to have it taken away a couple minutes later. Then, the Panthers quickly scored 28 points on the Bucs...BUT NONE OF IT WAS CAM. It was two McCaffrey TD's, a random RB TD and a Curtis Samuel Rushing TD. I was IRATE...I couldn't believe that there was a real possibility Cam was either gonna barely score over what Carr had or even worse SCORE LESS. Luckily the Panthers D let up some points and Cam turned in a respectable performance but still, Kyle Rudolph sucked again and Tarik Cohen couldn't even put up 2 points. To end the shitty start, Julio Jones scored his first TD of the season (surprise! against me!) and Mike was the projected favorite going into the afternoon games. Then...once again Michael Thomas and Kamara SAVED MY ASS. They combined for over 60 points and Kennan Allen also had a solid game to solidify my lead and I got the important W. The points also help immensely. I feel like just looking at my own schedule (it's tough) and others around me that my ceiling is going to end up being 5th-6th seed. It's nice being 5th with a little bit of a buffer, but I gotta keep those points up if I end up dropping down. For Mike the roller coaster continues as after a crap start (2 losses) and a great rebound (4 wins) he's back on the downswing again with a 3 game losing streak. Next week's matchup with Kenny is crucial in not only wins but points. For me, well I feel like I have to beat Drew as I'll be a heavy favorite because my last 3 matchups are super tough. We talked about Mark's win as just how. Don't know how he does it. Undermanned and facing a way better team on paper, Matt Ryan and Travis Kelce luckily had great games to get him the big W. It's a huge win for Mark, because his team had been trending down and another loss could've been really hurt his playoff chances, but at 6 wins and a relatively soft schedule Mark's back on track on the playoff hunt. For Kenny..just a terrible loss and basically it really seems like his only way in is going to be points based. The good news is he currently has the points to make him the 6th seed so as long as his team scores consistently high, wins won't really matter. Kenny takes on Mike next, who's he only like 4 points ahead of so that's a pretty huge matchup for both. Mark on the other hand gets what should be a pretty winnable matchup against my dad. Speaking of Dad, his role has been basically reduced to spoiler this season and he did his job against Albert. Not only beating him, but getting blowout of the week against him. Injuries and byes just killed Albert and not only did Albert get the Blowout of The Week but also lowest points of the week which is an absolute KILLER. Just the wrong time to have injuries and byes hit your team. Albert will try to bounce back against yet another "spoiler" team, Ryan, while Dad takes on Mark and tries to spoil his playoff hopes. I think it's getting pretty clear who the overall favorite is to win it all. Leland is just DOMINATING points wise and picks up another easy win as he blows out another opponent in Drew. It seems like nobody has even come close to beating Leland. It's hard to think Leland won't finish with the #1 record and most points in the league. He'll take on his brother Eugene next week in what could possibly be a Wane McGarity Bowl preview. There was nothing Drew could do, Leland just has the better team. Drew's playoff hopes are slowly fading and he'll need a huge win against me next week to keep afloat. Alex, it's been a hell of a run, but it FINALLY predictably stopped this week. Look, this is meant as no disrespect, but this is how I basically expect Alex's team to perform, especially with no Andrew Luck this week. I feel like the only way Alex makes the playoffs is by wins because his points are DEAD LAST in the entire league. To me he'll have to win 3 of his next 4 to have a solid chance, and I just think it's going to be really rough to accomplish. Eugene picks up yet another win to solidify his #2 seed but the big news is A.J. Green's toe injury. He's going to miss 2 games at least and that's a pretty big blow to Eugene's roster. He still has tons of firepower, but Green will definitely be missed. He'll take on his brother next week, while it doesn't get any easier for Alex as he takes on Matt next week. So Finally, Ryan once again loses another nailbiter, this time on Sunday night against Matt. Ryan was even briefly projected to win after Jimmy Graham scored a TD, but Matt's guys rallied and Josh Gordon but a nail in the coffin with a 50 yard TD as Matt picks up win #6. Matt's team is for real and it's crazy that the top 3 seeds (Leland, Eugene, Matt) have won a combined 13 straight matchups. They have obviously separated from the pack by wins and points. and Matt will look to build on that lead next week against Alex, while Ryan takes on Albert.

Really not a lot to talk about as this wasn't really a game where a ton of teams were going to use players. I had to bite the bullet just because I couldn't wait until Sunday night to find out the status of if Sony Michel was going to play or not so when I heard some dude named Nick Mullins was starting for San Francisco, I thought the Raiders would easily take card of the 49ers to the point that game script would favor Martin. DEAD....WRONG. Mullins was amazing, partly because the pathetic Raiders weren't even remotely trying to win. It was embarrassing to watch the complete lack of effort as the Raiders put up a measly 3 points against a TERRIBLE 49ers Defense that looked like the 85 Bears Defense against this sad sack Raiders team. Martin was actually not bad, but game script basically ended up fucking him over and I only 7.4 points from him. Now normally I'd be pretty upset, but Mike's decision to play Derek Carr over Philip Rivers ended backfiring big time. When Carr wasn't getting sacked, because his O-Line was shit, he looked like shit himself. It got so bad, Jon Gruden threw in the towel in the 4th and let A.J. McCarron play. Carr ended up with 174 empty yards and 7.34 points. Like I said before, this means NOTHING because it's one play and my play wasn't anything special either. Posey has 4 dangerous receivers who are all capable of blowing up so in no way is this matchup over. I'm just glad Carr flopped. The only Raider that got played was Jared Cook and even though he sucked for Leland, it really shouldn't affect his matchup against Drew's injury riddled team. On the 49ers side, Matt's basically on his way to his 6th win as George Kittle was awesome, proving it doesn't matter who the QB is. He had an amazing 70+ yard catch and ended up scoring a TD and finished with nearly 19 points. Kittle is helping Matt recover from the first round bust that is Gronk. The only other play was Dad sticking to his guns with Marquise Goodwin and thought the 49ers offense was rollin, Goodwin did nothing of note. Already an underdawg...literally, that performance certainly didn't help matters as Albert should have no problem picking up a win this week.

There's a couple teams who's points and record look good enough to consider them near locks to make the playoffs (Leland, Eugene, Matt) and on flip side there's two teams that sadly look like the end is near (Dad and Ryan). The rest of us are in limbo and as cliché as it sounds, it still bears repeating,,every week from here on is basically a must win situation. Margin for error is slim and all it takes is one loss to significantly derail a playoff push. Here's this weeks matchups and predictions.

Trump 2020 (4-4) vs
Rigmas Forever (4-4)

Yahoo Says: I win
I say: Mike wins. I'm never going to pick my team when it's less than 100% whether it by byes or injuries, especially when I'm facing a really good team who's at full strength. This week, no T.Y. Hilton for me and Sony Michel's status is still up in the air. Sony missing another game would totally screw me because I have no viable sub in for him. I COULD be proactive and conservative and just play Doug Martin tomorrow, but the risk of a 3-5 point play scares me too much. I'd rather gamble that he plays, but regardless, I don't have confidence in my team to pull off a must win. My only hope is it's a shootout and my team scores a ton of points.

Channel 4 News Team (4-4) vs
Underdawg (2-6)

Yahoo Says: Albert Wins
I Say: Albert Wins. Albert's not a huge favorite, but that's because he'll be without Beckham and Joe Mixon. This could very well be a trap game, but Dad's team is without Barkley, which is a HUGE blow and he just doesn't have inspiring choices rounding out his roster. It might not be high scoring, but Albert should win.

Shock The Monkey (5-3) vs
Scott's Tots (3-5)

Yahoo Says: Kenny wins
I Say: Kenny wins. I'm seriously confused how Kenny's not a bigger favorite, because this looks like a BLOODBATH. Mark's got multiple guys on byes and hurt and his depth is sorely lacking. Royce Freeman isn't even a lock to play this week and there's literally nothing but scraps left on the waivers as far as RB's go. Even the one Mark has to use, Chris Ivory isn't really that great of an option. Kenny SHOULD easily win this week, but you know how that goes...

No Soup For You (5-3) vs
I Am Queens Blvd (4-4)

Yahoo Says: Leland Wins
I Say: Leland Wins. Man Leland is the LAST TEAM I'd wanna face right now and though Drew could really use the win, he's a 25 point underdog and he's having to go home run heavy on a ton of plays this week. I sense yet another blowout from Leland with tons of points being scored on his end.

Light's Broken Bots (5-3) vs
Hoosier Daddy (2-6)

Yahoo Says: Matt Wins
I Say: Matt Wins. Matt's blessed with a relatively easy matchup and as long as he has Mahomes/Thielen and also as long as Dalvin Cook is out so Latavius Murray can be the starting RB he should easily pick up win #6. Ryan's also in rebuild mode so I just don't see him competing with Matt this week.

Rocket Man (5-3) vs
SCLSU MudDogs (5-3)

Yahoo Says: Eugene Wins
I Say: Eugene wins. The most mystifying win streak I've ever witnessed. Alex is even't projected to hit 80 points this week with no Andrew Luck. Leland is a 20 point favorite even without Marlon Mack and A.J. Green. Surely...surely Alex finally loses...right? RIGHT?!?!!

There's a reason every year at the beginning of the season, I always feel like Leland is a good bet to at the very least make the Wane McGarity Bowl. He knows what he's doing. He's a two time champion and though the past couple of seasons he's had some bad luck injury wise go his way, I've always felt like it was just a matter time before everything would just click and all of a sudden after an 0-3 start..it has more than just "clicked"..Leland's been a rocket ship to the top. He's not only won 5 matchups in a row, he's scoring at a SUPER high pace and leads the league in scoring. That's with him trading away the guy who was supposed to be the cornerstone of his team, David Johnson for what seemed at the time a lowball offer of Tyler Boyd. Nope..Boyd has been brilliant this year and Leland's deep team has even carried him through a bye week where he had no James Connor or Aaron Rodgers (he scored over 160 that week). He just made another shrewd trade as Ryan is playing for the future now, by trading for Zeke Elliott. Could this finally be the year Leland reclaims his place on top of the league for what would be a record 3rd time? Only time will tell, but it's looking damn good to me.

Week 8 Notes: I'm not really too upset that I lost (I mean I ran into a buzzsaw this week, Kenny had 11 TD's by halftime in the first wave of games, there's just nothing you can do when a team is THAT much on fire) but I am upset and disappointed that my team didn't score points this week. T.Y. Hilton was the biggest disappointment in what was a shootout game with tons of points scored. He managed 1 measly catch for 34 yards. That's it. Unacceptable period. After starting off the season strong points wise, my team has taken a nose dive in that area and I've slipped big time. I need points to stay alive in case my record can't carry me to a playoff spot and I'm really feeling down on my team. A combinations of guys hurt, and having byes when my opponents are full strength (its happened every week the last 3 weeks and keeps happening until week 10) is just absolutely killing my chances at winning every week. If Sony Michel misses again, I'll be down him and T.Y this week while not only does Mike get a full team at his disposal, he naturally gets Cooper Kupp back in time to face me. Can't write this kind of luck folks...only me. For Kenny, after weeks of frustration, he finally got a full squad and this is what it can do. His guys just went absolutely bonkers and he got a much needed win and points boost. He actually made a trade with his opponent Mark to grab Golden Tate and a higher waiver claim. Risky, but a nice move in the long run. I talked about Leland at the beginning and damn I mean there's really not much more to say. Mike was depleted and this was about expected as expected can be. Leland just has too much scoring power to deal with regularly much less with key guys on bye. Leland has put up crazy points the last three weeks and now he gets another pretty easy matchup with Drew's team up next. For Mike, after a slow start, then a nice rebound, he's back to slumping again with a 2nd loss in a row. He's now barely holding on to that last playoff spot by mere points. He's got a "tough on paper" matchup against me, but considering that my team's bark is worse than it's bite, it's definitely a matchup he can win, especially at full strength. Alex Alex Alex...ok so this winning streak has been fun and cute, but it's time to get serious and start taking Alex as a serious threat regardless of what his roster looks like. That's 4 straight wins where Alex has been the heavy underdog. LeSean McCoy scored just enough to pull off he upset against Drew. What did Drew in? How about Todd Gurley deciding NOT to score at the end of the Rams-Packers game. Man that's gotta sting bad. Drew also lost Will Fuller for the season and it doesn't get any easier for him when it he has to take on Leland next. He keeps proving me wrong but this week..THIS week has to be the week it comes to an end. No Andrew Luck and he's facing another team that's been on fire recently in Eugene. I'd seriously be surprised if he won this week (more surprised than the previous 4 times I' said I'd be surprised). Speaking of bad beats, Dad lost by a mere .32 points to Matt and this one can be blamed on me. Dad needed a RB and was going to start Devontae Booker but I sold him on the fact that Kenjon Barner was going to be the "2 down back) of the Patriots and that he would probably get a lot of touches in the 2nd half of what was perceived to be a blowout. That BACKFIRED BIG TIME. Not was Devontae Booker more than serviceable (double digit points) but the Patriots decided to get cute and let wide receiver CORDARRELLE PATTERSON get the ground work with 10 touches for 38 yards. Barner got a mere 2 carries. Unbelievable. I'm sorry Dad, that one's on me. I basically killed Dad's season and he'll take on Albert next, while Matt squeaks by and basically wins on the shoulders of Patrick Mahomes and Adam Thiren once again. Matt is definitely a dark horse championship contender and he gets another cush matchup against Ryan next week. Ryan is in rebuild mode already as he made a trade to get James Connor as a 12th round keeper prospect. Injuries have basically killed Ryan's season and he really hasn't been that competitive this season. Eugene easily beat him, and this is a year where we could see a brother vs brother finals as Eugene has basically been just as good as Leland's. They both have the same record, but Eugene has slightly more points. Eugene should be able to keep the momentum going against Alex next week. And finally, man a few weeks ago Mark was on top of the league and then I gave him the seal of approval (i.e. The KISS OF DEATH) and his team has plummeted since that 4-0 start. He's lost 3 of his last four, his team has seemed to regress and now he plays a suddenly rejuvenated team in Kenny, with a TON of injuries and byes. I'm not seeing how he wins this week. That's what makes each week in the league so damn crucial...it's so easy to go from #1 seed to on the brink of being outside of the playoffs. Albert's team continues to be a frustrating Jekyll and Hyde type team. One week he's putting up 75 the next 132..there's zero consistency and you literally never know what you're going to get week to week. It feels like he has the pieces, they just all have to click at the same time and it's easier said than done. Although he won't have Joe Mixon or A.J. Green this week, he should still have a solid chance to win since he's playing my Dad's struggling underachieving team.

I did not expect this weeks Thursday Night game of Dolphins-Texans to be exciting in the least. You had a banged up Deshaun Watson going against a super depleted offense of the Miami Dolphins. Felt like it was destined to be a 13-7 type game. Boy was I WRONG. Basically if you started someone in this game, you got a nice start to your fantasy weekend. Lets ironically start with the biggest non play and the guy who scored the most points this week. So Kenny was pretty sure he was starting Dashaun Watson all the way up to near game time when he decided he wanted a safer play and switched Andy Dalton out for him. Well..Watson ended up with 5 TD passes and nearly 36 points. It's too early to call this is a mistake since Dalton hasn't played yet (and he has a great matchup against Tampa Bay) but as of now, Kenny's pretty pissed he decided to bench Watson. It was understandable, but it sucks seeing so many points on your bench. So who got in on all the fun? Well Drew got nearly 21 points from Will Fuller but it came with a big price. Fuller ended up tearing his ACL in the 4th quarter ending his season. Another huge injury blow to Drew, who's already without Dalvin Cook. Dad went to bed really pissed off as going into the 4th quarter he had basically 8 yards on two catches. Hopkins then went BONKERS getting 2 late TD's and ending up with 23 points. Dad's still an underdog (how appropriate) but that performance helped narrow the gap. Albert benefited from a great Kenyon Drake game. You never know what kind of game with him considering the Dolphins insist on keeping Frank Gore a big part of the game plan. He delivered though with 2 TD's, and 22.5 points. Albert really needs a win this week and this will help him keep his edge against Mark. Eugene keeps getting high productions from unlikely players. Playing without Melvin Gordon for a 2nd straight week, it looks like once again it won't matter as Lamar Miller all of sudden has been a nice RB play again as he scored a TD and had a little over 19 points, while Danny Amendola scored a TD, but not in the way you would've have thought. He threw a TD pass to Kenyon Drake and had nearly 13 points. Not too bad for a couple of spot starts and since he's facing Ryan's struggling team, I don't see how Eugene loses this week with that start. The only one who played someone and not really get much was Mike, who's team is decimated with byes and injuries this week. He threw up a hail mary play with Jakeem Grant and it didn't really work out. Pretty much seals the deal that Leland is going to win this matchup with ease.

Here's this weeks matchups and predictions.

Rigmas Forever (4-3) vs
Scott's Tots (2-5)

Yahoo Says: Kenny Wins
I Say: Kenny wins. I might have had a little bit more confidence had I not lost Sony Michel, but once again this is a week where bye/injuries leave me shorthanded and my opponent is full strength. Just not seeing it as I just believe Kenny's got to snap out of his losing streak somehow and why not against me?

Light's Broken Bots (4-3) vs
Underdawg (2-5)

Yahoo Says: Matt wins
I Say: Matt wins. Juju's back, Latavius Murray is still the Vikings main back, possible Gronk plays and oh yeah THIELEN/MAHOMES. Just too much potential fire power here for my Dad's struggling team to overcome.

Shock The Monkey (5-2) vs
Channel 4 News Team (3-4)

Yahoo Says: Albert Wins.
I Say: Albert Wins. This is definitely an interesting matchup. Mark losing opens the flood gates for the rest of to compete for those two bye spots and he will be without Matt Ryan this week. Albert's team always looks good on paper, but has been prone to disappointment recently. He did make a trade to bolster his WR group and I'll give him the narrow edge this week to get the W and get back to .500.

Rocket Man (4-3) vs
Hoosier Daddy (2-5)

Yahoo Says: Eugene wins
I say: Eugene wins. No Melvin Gordon and No Falcons. There's also a possibility of no Matt Breida so that COULD swing things, but Ryan's team is playing so bad recently I just can't pick him, especially since he himself is without his best player, Zeke, who's on bye.

I Am Queens Blvd (4-3) vs
SCLSU MudDogs (4-3)

Yahoo Says: Drew wins
I Say: Drew wins....hhahahaha I know I know, but...it HAS to end some week right?? Right? Every time I've doubted Alex, his team has proved me wrong. Can he knock out the team with TODD F'N GURLEY next? It's definitely possible, I just think Drew's the guy that stops the madness.

No Soup For You (4-3) vs
Trump 2020 (4-3)

Yahoo Says: Leland wins
I Say: Leland wins. Yeah..this is the wrong week to play Leland for Mike. I feel almost like Leland and Alex are in cahoots. Alex delivers a demoralizing loss and Leland follows it up with a GIGANTIC ASS KICKING. That's the pattern that's happened to me and Kenny and as a whopping 30+ favorite it just may be Mike's fate as well.
